* In ''Theatre/TanzderVampire'' Herbert tries to seduce Alfred, but the latter makes it clear that he doesn't return his affections by trying to run away from him. Anyway, this doesn't stop Herbert, who gets even more clingy, aggressive and tries to bite the vampire-hunting {{Tenor Boy}}.

** Unfortunately, one of his other love interests ([[spoiler:Akiha]]) turns out to be even worse; in [[spoiler:Kohaku]]'s route, this trait ([[spoiler:with a touch of DemonicPossession]]) reaches the point where she takes over as the BigBad.

Mild cases of this are often a prerequisite to LadykillerInLove scenario, when TheCasanova falls in love ''because'' [[ILoveYouBecauseICantControlYou the woman rejected all his advances]], leaving him baffled and disoriented by the new experience.

Sometimes the rejected character will try to make the object of their affection take back the rejection or love them, by force. Sometimes the character may be so delusional that they misconstrue their loved ones actions as being rejection.

If the rejected character is sympathetic this could result in LoveHurts and makes them a HopelessSuitor. Could also result in revealing the HiddenDepths of a character. This trope could also enforce a characters StepfordSnarker or StepfordSmiler qualities.

The character may be angry at rejection but not from a person in regards to having their affections, but in regards to claiming something for themselves that they character who rejected them owns.

* In ''LightNovel/TheRisingOfTheShield'' Hero Motoyasu's death resulted due to him not wanting to chose one of his two female friends over the other. Both girls responded by stabbing him to death while arguing over who would go to heaven with him.

* In ''VisualNovel/LuckyDog1'', Giulio is revealed to be a necrophiliac in his route which apparently makes his job as a ProfessionalKiller all the more enjoyable once he's finished killing his targets. After spending some time with Gian though, he can eventually decide living human companionship is preferable in the good ending, and presumably stops defiling corpses after bloodshed. [[spoiler:In one of his bad endings in the spin-off ''Gian Carlo's Lucky Happy Life'' however, he crosses the MoralEventHorizon when he decides the only way [[IfICantHaveYou he can keep Gian with him]] (who has just refused his love) is by murdering him and then loving his corpse instead]].

* ''Theatre/Salome'': After Jochanaan disgustedly rejects Salomé's advances, even going back into his prison rather than facing her, she takes the first chance she can get to take revenge on him. Things get pretty ugly after that, finally ending with [[spoiler: Salomé kissing Jochanaan's severed head.]]

** There's also Anri. When he rejects her at gunpoint (thinking she's trying to rob him), she spends much of the series trying to get revenge on him and teams up with multiple villains to this end. She even passes up a chance of a life at peace when offered a new mobile suit to pursue him with--it's only when she unwittingly befriends his crewmate Toniya that she begins to question her course.
* Aoshima of ''Manga/AhMyGoddess'' is a playboy that can have any woman he wants except for Belldandy and Skuld. When they reject him he doesn't take it well and attempts to rape them. Thankfully, they both escape him before he can.
* ''LightNovel/AiNoKusabi'': Iason and Guy really took it to extremes since they are both {{Yandere}} for Riki. Robby, Kirie and Miguel The Paradita didn't handle rejection by Riki well either.
* ''Manga/AkameGaKill'': Esdeath. She's very driven to getting Tatsumi under her wing, but he keeps saying no. Eventually, she gives up when she realizes that he will never change his answer, and begrudgingly decides to have him put up for execution while planning to wound him bad enough to make others think he's dead, take him away, and presumably heal him up and continue her attempts to win him over. Until it finally sinks in that she'll never have him and she decides to kill him for real.
* Nanako Saeki of ''Manga/AkuNoHana'' snaps when Kasuga breaks up with her for Nakamura. To the point that she rapes Kasuga in the hopes of winning him back.
* Manga/AnatoliaStory: Under the influence of Nakia's rose water, Prince Zananza threatens to kill Yuri if he cannot have her as his princess.
* ''Webcomic/AxisPowersHetalia'':
** Belarus has an unreturned {{Yandere}} crush on [[BrotherSisterIncest brother]] Russia. She doesn't react very well when Russia tries to get her to leave him alone. Meaning she scratches at his door, ''tears out his doorknob'', and stands in the doorway with an insane look on her face telling him that they need to get [[MadnessMantra "married"]]...
** England [[IfICantHaveYou tries to kill America]] when he tries to declare independence and leave him, and is hinted to still hold feelings of resentment about it after he decides to let America go. He also mentions in one strip that he suffers from a broken heart, and most people assume it's because of America's rejection. He's shown in strips to become bed ridden when he thinks of America's rejection and attempts to strangle him in one scene when America tells him the scones he made for him are awful. Also, in the Fantasia Cd drama he sounds increasingly unhinged as he repeats to his cute supernatural friend "Hey, you won't ever leave me right? You'll stay by my side? You won't ever leave, right? Right? RIGHT?!" This is a CallBack to his heartbreak over America declaring independence on him and leaving him.
** Russia was bullied and rejected by potential friends when he was younger. This sends him into a shock and makes him very depressed and is part of his DarkAndTroubledPast. Because of his past he strives to make friends and keep them, by force.
** Spain misconstrues Romano's roundabout request of food and naps in response to him asking him to marry him as rejection. He laments to France about no one liking him like they used to.
** Korea has feelings for his [[IncestYayShipping brother China]] and a strip shows that if China answers "No" to his question of whether China likes him he still will consider forcing China into sex with the line "In that case, I'll just fuck you!" The manga describes this as being a bad ending, which describes japanese games, anime's and manga's tendency to have incredibly depressing or gory endings.
** France laments over his girl dumping him in a Christmas strip (whom is assumed to be Seychelles). He says he wants to make Christmas into a violent bloodbath since his girl left him.
* ''LightNovel/{{Bakemonogatari}}'':
** Hitagi Senjougahara makes it clear that she won't tolerate her boyfriend Koyomi Araragi showing interest in any other woman. At one point, she nearly stabs him in the eye with a mechanical pencil after he so much as talks about another female using her first name without an honorific. And only stops once he screams, "Stop it! There's nothing guilty about it! I didn't mean it like I knew her well! I'm only devoted to you, Senjougahara!"
** Suruga doesn't like that Hitagi is dating Koyomi as she has a crush on Hitagi herself. So she basically stalks Koyomi and tries to beat him to death twice.
** Nadeko is this as well. At the temple near the end of Nadeko Medusa she decides that since Koyomi will probably keep getting girlfriends, she might as well stab him to death now rather than experience the grief of having him taken away from her over and over.
* Reimi from ''Manga/BambooBlade'' has [[StalkerWithACrush stalked]] Miyako from the shadows ever since the latter had [[CuteAndPsycho brutally]] rebuffed the advances of the former's crush in middle school (though the two attend different high schools).
** There's also the nuclear holocaust of a yandere that is Sakaki Ura. Ura Sakaki. The word "obsession" doesn't even begin to describe her secret infatuation with an actor named Takigawa Junya, Junya Takigawa, who just so happens to be completely oblivious to Ura's existence. Then Ura discovers the object of her affection is in a sexual scandal with an actress he works with, and the yandere mode kicks off like the Wrath of God in a way that only Bamboo Blade could do.
* Griffith of ''Manga/{{Berserk}}'' was implied to [[HoYay have feelings for Guts]]. [[{{Yandere}} He didn't respond very well]] [[HeroicBSOD when Guts left him.]] [[MoralEventHorizon At]] [[DespairEventHorizon all]]. One of the ways he responds to the rejection is by sleeping with Princess Charlotte and in the movie the entire time he's doing that his mind is completely focused on Guts and how he left him.
** He also started harboring {{Yandere}} tendencies toward Casca as well, and the discovery that Guts and Casca were in a relationship would cause him to snap, leading to everything going to hell. Literally.
** Rosine also had an obsession with her friend Jill. So, when Jill definitely refuses her WeCanRuleTogether offer, Rosine captures her and tries to turn her into one of her pseudo-Elves by force.
** A heartbreaking example can be found in Guts. [[RapeLeadsToInsanity Being raped made Casca insane and unable to give consent]], so whenever Guts wants to continue their sexual relationship she gets scared and rebuffs him. Sometimes it was because he nearly lost control of himself and tried to rape her. This all [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone adds]] [[HurtingHero to his heartbreak]], especially considering they used to be so close before everything went to hell and he DesperatelyCravesAffection from her.
* Elegy of ''Manga/BetrayalKnowsMyName'' threatens to kill Luka due to the latter's love for Yuki when she has feelings for Luka herself.
** It's implied its an [[ManipulativeBastard act]] but when Yuki refuses to leave with Kanada who [[FoeYay demonstrates affections towards him]] [[EvenTheGuysWantHim as well]] Kanada drops his NiceGuy demeanor.
* ''Manga/BlackButler'':
** Angela/Ash in the anime tortures and tries to kill Sebastian when he rejects their advances and WeCanRuleTogether offer and pays more attention to Ciel.
** Also, [[DepravedHomosexual Alois]] is hinted to love Claude and is extremely jealous of Ciel for having Claude's love and angry at Claude rejecting him to the point of acting cruelly towards Ciel (when his soul is in Ciel's body he scratches his chest out of spite), beating up Hannah, and wondering if he should tear Claude's wings off so he can't leave when comparing him to a butterfly. Alois also flirts with Ciel and tells him that he wants him and says that he'll kill all his loved ones unless he agrees to become his. It's implied he's joking in regards to Ciel though.
** The Viscount Druitt becomes {{Yandere}} for Elizabeth's friend in an OVA and tries to kill the both of them so no one can interfere with their love and so that they can be in heaven together. He's stopped thankfully.
** Angelina "Madame Red" Durless. She saw her first love choose her sister over her, and later both lost her SecondLove and her unborn child, which left her unable to have children and mentally/emotionally scarred to boot. While this doesn't mean she's justified into becoming one half of the most serial killer in Victorian England (Jack the Ripper) her story is quite tragic.
** Elizabeth has a hidden dark side. When she catches her fiance Ciel in a moment of NotWhatItLooksLike with another girl she looses it and attempts to attack him. Also, she wants to be ProperLady for Ciel. In the manga she hides her LittleMissBadass side from him, fearing he'd think she was "uncute" and reject her affection (as he was shit scared of her AlmightyMom Frances). This causes her lots of [[StepfordSmiler inner pain]] as she forces herself to hide her strength for Ciel's sake rather than her own...
* In ''Manga/BlackCat'' the protagonist's enemy, Creed Diskenth has an obsessive fixation on him, and when Train leaves the Chronos Numbers, he kills his closest friend and doesn't hesitate later on to kidnap his friends and hold them hostage.
* Garcia of ''Manga/BlackLagoon'' listens in on Roberta (who he has a big crush on) getting frisky with a guy in the El Baile de la Muerte arc and [[BreakTheCutie cries while biting his finger to the point of bleeding]].
* Everyone in ''Anime/BlackRockShooter'' exhibits insanity when they think their loved one has someone else in their life.
* Karl Fei-Ong of ''Anime/BloodPlus''. [[spoiler:The fact that Diva didn't love him is what drove him insane.]]
* ''LightNovel/BookGirl'': Miu. Well, the first time. She was so sad and angry with Konoha for not telling her about him writing the book (thus feeling that he was distancing himself away from her and being as Yandere as she is) that she decided to kill herself right in front of him, so that he'd regret and suffer his entire life.
* What specifically pushes ''Manga/{{Claudine}}'' into [[spoiler:shooting himself dead]] is how Sirene, his third and last love, leaves him for his older brother Andre.
** Similarly, what pushes [[spoiler:Louis Lacques]] into [[spoiler:killing Claudine's dad and his own sister Cecilia]] is finding out that [[spoiler:they were involved... since Louis himself was Monsieur de Montesse's former lover.]]
* ''Anime/CodeGeass'':
** Mao's treatment of Lelouch seems this way - C.C. originally made a contract with him, but abandoned Mao and made one with Lelouch instead. So Mao tries to kill him by manipulating a girl who has unrequited love for Lelouch, turning into a temporary {{Yandere}}. It fails. Somewhat averted in that Mao offers to leave Lelouch alone if C.C. comes with him. Concerned with losing one of his best allies, however, Lelouch prevents this. After that, Mao directly goes after Lelouch in the most potentially destructive manner possible.
** Rolo gets very upset when Lelouch acts indifferent and cold towards him and initially has the idea to kill Nunnally in order to be Lelouch's only sibling.
* ''Anime/CrossAnge'': When Ange herself refuses his advances, Embryo tortures her by forcing her mind to undergo overwhelming pain and then physical need. When Ange tries to escape, Embryo shows his true colors by taking over the mind of her faithful maid Momoka and even tries to fatally shoot Momoka when she resists. Upon the final battle, Embryo simply decides to obliterate all of humanity again, coldly rebuking one of his subordinates for caring about others, and tries to sacrifice his loyal followers to buy himself time. When he is through trying to seduce Ange, Embryo tries to beat and rape her before trying to kill her for not "accepting his love".
* ''Anime/DanceWithDevils'': Just about every member of the male student council has these feelings for Ritsuka, in particular Urie and Shiki. Episode 3 strongly implied this with Urie's line about how Rtisuka is "mine and mine alone" and saying he wants to hold her in his embrace until she falls apart. Also, Shiki's song is all about him and Ritsuka and includes lines and imagery which invoke rape metaphors. He also shivers in excitement when thinking about possible hardships she could endure and threatens to kill her if she doesn't stay with him forever.
* Maki in ''Anime/DarkerThanBlack'', (despite being a cute little kid), right down to trying to murder the guy his crush is in love with.
** [[FridgeLogic Although, given who]] [[TimeTravel his crush is,]] he may very well have succeeded, before Amber [[{{Retcon}} changed it,]] which may explain [[{{Revenge}} why she just let him die.]]
* Genkaku of ''Manga/DeadmanWonderland'' is [[InLoveWithYourCarnage in love]] with Nagi/his carnage. He definitely didn't respond well to Nagi rejecting him and decided to kill him.
** Masaru "Chaplin" Sukegawa was imprisoned after murdering a woman his lover was caught with.
* ''Manga/DearS'': The entire DearS race in DearS. They are a slave race that needs the love and appreciation of a master race to survive. If they stop feeling appreciated, they wipe out their "masters" and look for new ones.
* In a ''Manga/DeathNote'' flashback, when Misa tries to ignore a StalkerWithACrush who surprises her at night, he pulls a knife, saying, "Then I'll kill you and myself!"
** Can't forget Misa's [[{{Yandere}} "If I see you (Light) with another girl, I'll kill them!"]] or even threatening to kill Light.
* Happens at least twice in ''Manga/DetectiveConan''. The first time, the guy, a former boyfriend of an IdolSinger who was blackmailed by her manager into breaking up with her, not only [[SpurnedIntoSuicide killed himself]]... but he made it look as if the IdolSinger who he believed rejected him(actually a case of PoorCommunicationKills) actually murdered him.
** Inverted in another case. Miyuki Hyuga ''wanted'' to marry Hideomi Nagato, but he was still feeling the guilt [[spoiler:over the incident in which he caused the house fire that killed her parents, and as a result Hideomi crossed the DespairEventHorizon and later killed himself.]]
* In ''Anime/DevilMayCryTheAnimatedSeries'' has [[FatBastard the Prison Warden]], who has an obvious and creepy crush on Dante. After Dante rejects his advances and kicks his ass, he has a temper tantrum and orders Dante to be thrown in the special cell. [[spoiler:Just as Dante planned -- the guy he's been hired to rescue is in the same block]].
* ''Manga/DGrayMan'': Komui is implied to be [[BrotherSisterIncest in love with his sister Lenalee]] and [[CrazyJealousGuy goes nuts if there's even a hint of a guy being interested in her]]. In fact, a way to wake him up is to say "Lenalee's getting married." In the novel, when Bak (who also has feelings for her) gives Komui a tea that makes one tell the truth he has a breakdown when Bak asks Komui "Isn't Lenalee is free to love who she wants?" He takes this to mean that Lenalee is in love with a guy and immediately pulls out a machine gun saying "Then I'll kill everyone and then die!"
* ''Anime/DragonBallSuper'' takes it UpToEleven with Barry Khan. When Videl, a ''married'' woman, shoots him down when he tries to flirt with him, he takes it so badly that he first hires Gohan to be a stuntman in the hopes that he'll be badly hurt in the very least, and then tries to trick Videl into thinking Gohan is cheating on her. Videl doesn't buy it for a second and snubs him again, even taking the time to call him out on being so pathetic.
* [[{{Yandere}} Kei]] of ''Manga/DrugAndDrop'' has obsessive feelings for Kazahaya, to the point of warning him that [[MurderTheHypotenuse she would kill anybody who got in the way]] if he left her.
* ''LightNovel/{{Durarara}}'':
** Haruna Niekawa. Professor Nasujima at Mikado's school clearly has a thing for Anri, which naturally {{Squick}}s the hell out of her. The same guy is also dating Haruna Niekawa (one of his former students). Or was. Haruna doesn't like that he's changed his preferences, so she gave Anri a visit and tried to kill her...
** Professor Nasujima himself seems to have shades of this. When Anri makes it increasingly clear one night that she's not having any of his advances towards her he menacingly backs her into a wall, appears to lose it from the look on his face, and attempts to stalk after her.
** There's also Namie Yagiri and Mika Harima towards Seiji. They're so yandere that they're willing to get rid of Celty's head (with Mika being so far gone as to want to [[{{Squick}} eat the head's blood]] [[ALoveToDismember which Seiji is yandere for]]) if it means they can have Seiji for themselves.
** Though Mika actually out-yanderes Namie, as when Seiji smashes her face when she takes a glimpse of Celty's head, Mika gets plastic surgery to fix her grievous injuries... and also makes herself look exactly like Celty with her head on. Can we say, yikes?
** The healthiest relationship in the series is probably the relationship between a back-alley surgeon (Shinra) and a headless female (Celty), where the former outright says that he dissembled about the location of the latter's head because he never wanted her to leave him. Actually, that's the part where there relationship ''improves''.
* In ''Manga/ElfenLied'', when Lucy learns Kouta lied to her about the gender of the cousin he was taking to the festival, she murders his father and sister in a fit of jealousy and tries to murder his cousin.
* ''Manga/ErgoProxy'':
** An Entourage [=AutoReiv=] belonging to Re-l Mayer, Iggy contracted the Cogito Virus and grew to become enraged at Re-l's lack of regard for him. He despises Proxies and blames Vincent for taking Re-l - his sole reason for existence - away from him. He develops an unusual state of both loving and hating Re-l, and locks her up to "protect" her, while he attempts to kill Vincent. However, an [=AutoReiv=] belonging to a Proxy that Re-l killed, attempts to kill Re-l at the same time, causing Iggy to return to Re-l. The [=AutoReiv=] goes into a self-detonation mode and destroyed much of Iggy except for part of his head (which left Iggy "conscious" to some extent). In the end, not wanting to see Iggy suffer due to the virus, Re-l shoots him and buries his head.
** Daedalus also qualifies. When Re-l runs off with Vincent, Doctor D decides to clone himself a new Re-l as a replacement.
* In ''Manga/FruitsBasket'' Kagura Sohma is usually a cute, sweet girl with a cheerful disposition, but she actually shows her love for Kyo by beating him to a pulp on sight, especially if he refuses her advances. This frequently leads to Shigure's house being broken. When they were both little kids, apparently she got Kyo to propose to her by threatening him with a knife (or a big rock in the anime). Subverted at the end when she grows to accept his affection for Tohru.
* In Eikoden of ''Manga/FushigiYuugi'', there's Mayo Sakaki. She's obsessed with her coach Taka (Tamahome's Earth persona), and goes even more crazy when she finds out him and Miaka were married and are expecting a baby. She steals The Universe of the Four Gods book, intending to rewrite the story so that she becomes the priestess of Suzaku, along with making Tamahome her husband. Poor Miaka goes into a coma, and her unborn baby girl Hikari is transferred inside Mayo. When Tamahome confronts Mayo, she points a dagger to her stomach and threatens to kill his unborn child if he doesn't agree to be with her. She also outright lies to Empress Houki (Hotohori's widow) about her and Tamahome's relationship, with Tamahome standing right next to her and protesting about it. She's easily hated amongst the fans of the series, especially since she doesn't get any sort of comeuppance for the trouble she causes.
* [[AxCrazy Yuno]] from ''Manga/FutureDiary'' towards Yukiteru. Yuki has to resort to claiming to be in love with Yuno to prevent her from [[MurderTheHypotenuse murdering his friend]] out of jealousy. Because the girl is Yuki's friend Yuno believes there ''might'' be a chance that Yuki could fall in love with her. After this she chains him to a chair to keep Yuki safe and prevent him from cheating while telling him they're going to be together forever.
* Reika from ''Manga/{{Gantz}}'' is so in love with Kurono that, when he rejects her, she decides to make a copy of Kurono for herself and she goes though with it.
* ''Manga/GetBackers'':
** Kazuki's gang, Fuuga (lit. "Elegance"), is really into the Ho Yay. There's some kind of Toshiki/Kazuki/Juubei Love Triangle, apparently; Toshiki even attempts to Murder the Hypotenuse, claiming that Kazuki never paid any attention to him when Juubei was around... You can probably throw in Saizou, too. The only gang member who doesn't act like Kazuki jilted them at some point is probably Sakura, Juubei's sister.
** Fudou develops a twisted obsession with Ban which started after [[InLoveWithYourCarnage Ban ripped his arm off]]. When Ban ignores him to focus more on his comrades, namely Ginji, he decides Ginji has to die so that Ban will pay more attention to him.
* Akari of ''Manga/GirlGotGame'' is a type 2 {{Yandere}} for Kyo. Attempts to drive her away are met with [[SpurnedIntoSuicide suicide threats]] and WolverineClaws.
* ''Manga/GirlsBravo'': Lisa Fukuyama is an insane user of black magic who develops an intense infatuation for Yukinari after his appearance matches a description in her horoscope for her soul mate and often employs her magic to get closer to him-which often fails spectacularly. She often has her attendant Kosame stand nearby with her loaded gun trained on Yukinari, making a not so subtle threat to shoot Yukinari if he refuses her.
* ''Manga/GirlsSaurus'': Haruka attacked Shingo for rejecting her sending him to the hospital, but spends almost the entire manga honestly believing that Shingo's rejection made her the victim. Subverted in the final chapters when she learns the truth.
* ''LightNovel/GoshuushouSamaNinomiyaKun'': Inner Reika (who's {{Yandere}} for Shungo) tries to rape Shungo to help get her feelings across, is willing to pull a MurderTheHypotenuse on Mayu her rival for Shungo's love, and completely loses it in the last episode upon seeing him try to kiss Mayu, screaming at her subordinate Hosaka to kill Shungo. She gets over it though.
* Shuichi Shindou from ''{{Manga/Gravitation}}'' qualifies for this when the stress of Yuki being outed puts him into the hospital, and Shuichi talks at length about how he would rather Yuki die than leave him.
** Yuki and his sister/Tohma's wife Mika acknowledge that Yuki's break-up with Shuichi was for Shuichi's own protection; had Yuki not ended it, it's heavily implied that Tohma, whom is a {{Yandere}} for Yuki, would have ''killed'' Shuichi. And this may not be the first incident of this happening.
* ''Manga/GunslingerGirl'': [[spoiler:First, we have Elsa, who shot her handler Lauro and then put a bullet through her eye because Lauro did not return her feelings. Many chapters later, Henrietta, who as of late had been ignored by Jose, frags him during a rampage against Dante's men brought about by Ski Mask Guy. Jose has her finish the job. As Henrietta puts one more through Jose, Jose shoots '''her''' through the eye, killing her instantly.]]
* In ''Manga/HaiyoreNyarkoSan'' Mahiro's mother Yoriko says that Mahiro and Nyarko should start their relationship slow and be friends first; Nyarko, mistakenly thinking she's been friend zoned, has the GivingUpTheGhost reaction.
* ''Manga/HaouAiren'': Reilan didn't exactly kill herself with her own hands, but set a ThanatosGambit specifically to have revenge against the BastardBoyfriend that left her for Kurumi.
* Haru To Natsu has protagonist Makoto caught between twin sisters who both want him,. He prefers Haruna, the stable and sweet model student, while also being chased by Natsuki, who wants him because Haruna wants him. Oh, and did I mention Haruna's quite Yandere for Makoto? To the point that their first kiss is while she's holding a very large butcher knife, and later promises (while wielding that same knife) that if he ever cheats, he wouldn't like what happens.
* In ''HatsukoiZombie'', SchoolIdol Shibuai Misawo falls for the rich, handsome and refined Ibusuki (who is incidentally a girl, but she doesn't know that), and she will capture his heart whether he agrees or not. She gets even more obsessed and aggressive after he coldly turns her down, with arguments that range from secators to needle-point holders.
* Ryoki of ''Manga/HotGimmick'' in regards to Hatsumi his girlfriend. At one point in the manga Hatsumi tells Ryoki that she can't be with him anymore when he orders her to make the impossible decision of choosing between him or her family. When she leaves him he's shown thinking to himself "That stupid woman...If she can't be mine she should just die."
* [[spoiler:Faina Shinozaki]] from ''Anime/InfiniteRyvius''. When her boyfriend breaks up with her, she tries to kill him. When her previous boyfriend broke up with her, she ''did'' kill him. She also killed an old friend just for mentioning his name.
* Ichitaka Seto of ''Manga/{{Is}}'' is a normal Japanese high school student. His one hang-up is that due to a particularly nasty rejection by a girl when he was younger, he can't properly show his affection to anyone he's interested in.
* ''Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventure'':
** Dio is so arrogant that he considers it a blow to his pride if anyone should reject him, even if he doesn't have feelings for them. It makes him act quite violent. In his opinion, [[{{Hypocrite}} he should be the one dishing out the rejection, not the other way around]]. On one occasion he gave Erina a ForcefulKiss to further break Jonathan. She reacted by washing her mouth out with muddy water. Dio responded with a blow to her face.
** Yukako Yamagashi from Part 4 is in love with Koichi and is determined to make him love her back. She kidnaps him and tries to hold him hostage until he loves her back. Koichi develops his stand further and she decides to let him free rather than fight it. She gets better...sort of. She decides to pursue a more consensual relationship, though she is no less aggressive in her attempts.
* Anime/{{K}}'s Fushimi Saruhiko has an UnrequitedLove for Yata Misaki that is apparently so strong that it drove him insane. Because Misaki had found new friends and a new family with HOMRA and started to drift away from him he lost himself in jealousy and heartbreak, believing that making Misaki hate him was the only way to get his attention. The Manga Days of Blue shows very clearly that he still suffers badly over being away.
** Mishina confesses to Kukuri in a over the top manner and she rejects him. He responds by screaming dramatically "MY HEART HAS BEEN BROKEN!!!!" and crying.
* Balder of ''Anime/KamigamiNoAsobi'' is possessive of Yui and jealous of the other's attraction towards her. He becomes [[{{Yandere}} a completely different person]] when he sees Yui with somebody that's not him. He explicitly states to Loki that if he has to see her with somebody else he'd rather see her dead. Luckily Loki stops him with a CooldownHug.
* Rune from ''Manga/KarakuridoujiUltimo'' falls into this in regards to his current unrequited [[HoYay love for Yamato]]. He's willing to rape and kill Yamato and then kill himself because he doesn't love him back.
* ''LightNovel/KaraNoKyoukai'':
** Lio, who lusts after Shiki, acts quite AxCrazy (well crazier than usual) when Shiki tells him she's not interested in him. He screams at her [[MadnessMantra "That's a lie, that's a lie, that's a lie, that's a lie!"]] and attacks her telling her he might consider [[MurderTheHypotenuse murdering the hypotenuse]] so he can win her love.
** He's also like this to Mikiya, in which he is implied to lose it and murder a lot of people to cope when he rejects him.
* ''Manga/KareKano'': Arima's dark side. Any time that he comes onto the screen, you just know Arima is seconds away from shattering. This is made worse because to the outside world, [[StepfordSmiler he appears to be a put together, genius]] with his only match being Yukino, his girlfriend. It's scary to slowly see his thoughts morph from wanting to be with Yukino, to wanting to isolate her from everyone and keep her just for himself. His fighting with these thoughts proves that Arima is a good guy, but him imagining tying Yukino in chains does not bode well for their relationship. This is a rare case of StalkerWithACrush in which not only is the stalker in a committed relationship with his crush, but he is also portrayed as so sympathetic that you just want to save him from himself.
** The worst has to be the end of Chapter 42 right after Yukino decides that she wants her world to be bigger than just her and Arima. The realization that he cannot bind her to him makes the dark side that Arima was always trying to hide come out. [[http://www.mangaeden.com/en-manga/kare-kano/42/40/ And it is frightening.]]
* LethalChef Bianchi from ''Manga/KatekyoHitmanReborn'' goes into a homicidal rage whenever she sees adult Lambo who looks exactly like her deceased ex-boyfriend Romeo...who apparently died of food poisoning. She also has an unrequited crush on Reborn and is perfectly willing to eliminate anybody who has a 'bad influence' on him.
** When Tsuna thinks Kyoko doesn't like him like he likes her he once confines himself to his room and shouts something to the effect of "I can't live if Kyoko-chan denies me!" This is mainly because she was nice to him and she's the reason he even goes to school.
** Gokudera is implied to [[HoYay have a crush on Tsuna]] and whenever he misunderstands and thinks Tsuna only sees him as a nuisance he falls into despair.
* Naruse in ''Manga/KawaiiAkuma''. He confesses to Akiyoshi another man and when Akiyoshi rejects him he undergoes a [[{{Yandere}} complete change of attitude]] and rapes him.
* One of the creepiest examples comes from Minoru Murao's ''Manga/{{Knights}}'' manga. Of all people, Nina, the cute little girl of the cast goes nuts when she assumes that the object of her affection Mist is physically involved with his MsFanservice companion Euphemia. Her response is to lead a supernatural agent of the Corrupt Church (the same Church that nearly burned her at the stake after accusing her of being a witch) to kill him. She even shoots him in the leg with a crossbow. Her motivation? To send his soul to Hell, where it will be "purified", then join him in death so they can be together for all eternity. Keep in mind that this guy saved her life in the first few chapters, which is why she's so hung up on him in the first place. This is borderline LoveMakesYouEvil. To her credit, she does eventually realize just how utterly screwed up she was, and works to undo her actions.
* In ''Manga/KoharuNoHibi'' Koharu is so obsessed with Akira that she acts like this in regards to him. She sexually assaults TheRival in an attempt to get the SacredFirstKiss she wanted from Akira back from her, gives her the DeathGlare, and gets DullEyesOfUnhappiness after he breaks up with her. When she feels her position as potential love interest to Akira threatened because of TheRival she ends up making a StalkerShrine of him in her room and licks a picture of him she has on her phone to comfort herself.
* The grotesque huge [[DepravedHomosexual Captain Continental]] lusts after Jonathan in ''Anime/LegendOfTheBlueWolves''. However, Jonathan rejects his amorous advances in favor of his growing feelings for Leonard. Captain Continental notices their growing closeness and does everything he can to separate them, including calling Jonathan to his office alone so he can try to make him sexually submit to him and beating him with a whip when he again refuses, rushing at Leonard with the intent to beat him after he tries to stop Captain Continental from beating up Jonathan and trying to make him submit to him. He later attempts to have Leonard locked into solitary confinement in order to get him out of the way after framing Jonathan for being a spy. His next and [[MoralEventHorizon most horrific act]] is for him and his subordinate to beat and gang rape Jonathan.
* Dai of ''LetDai'' for Jaehee. He ties Jaehee down to train tracks when he considers him to have spurned his love.
* Manami Anzai from ''Manga/{{Life}}'', who first appears as a cute and childish clique leader who snaps utterly when she suspects Ayumu is trying to steal away her boyfriend. [[spoiler:She goes so insane that she then dates a gang leader on the side to use him to get back at both Ayumu and her boyfriend, and then promptly screws her boyfriend and the gang leader both over. Not to mention her vow to kill Ayumu with her bare hands. Then she crosses into CuteAndPsycho territory.]]
* Ritsu in ''{{Manga/Loveless}}'' [[spoiler:sexually abuses a young Soubi]] and generally acts like a JerkAss because Soubi's mother married another man over him.
* In ''Manga/LovelyComplex'' Mimi refuses to listen to what Otani has to say because she assumes he's going to break up with her and covers her ears but Koizumi punches her and tells her to deal with it. She gets better.
* ''Manga/MagicKnightRayearth'': Nova wants Hikaru all to herself and won't hesitate to kill her friends in order to eliminate competition.
* In ''Manga/MahouSenseiNegima'', [[PsychoLesbian Tsukuyomi]] just wants Setsuna to herself, tries to rape her, and [[MurderTheHypotenuse wonders if it's okay to kill]] her [[BodyguardCrush charge]] and [[SchoolgirlLesbians girlfriend]] Konoka.
* ''Anime/MaiHime'': Shizuru out of her love for Natsuki, goes insane when she believes Natsuki has rejected her (Natsuki, however, also considers Shizuru her most important person) and kills those she sees as Natsuki's enemies. And even better, her [[{{Mons}} CHILD]] is named Kiyohime, see the Myth and Legend section of this page for more.
* ''Manga/MakaiOuji'': Michael has a touchy-feely attitude towards Uriel, gets irritated when Uriel shows concern for William's well-being, and stomps on him while telling him that he should have eyes for him only. It's also implied that he threatens to tear off Uriel's remaining wing partly because of he's angry of his focus on William.
* ''Anime/MawaruPenguindrum'':
** Ringo for Tabuki. She drugs and attempts to rape him when she learns he doesn't love her back. Tabuki also falls into this in episode 11 for Ringo after she gives him a LovePotion.
** Tsubasa Yuuki also had [[LesYay something with Yuri]] and when Yuri broke it off Tsubasa appeared to stab Tabuki out of jealousy.
** Episode 14: When Shouma decided to cut off all contact with Ringo, and rejected her when she confronts him on it Ringo gets an extremely upset look on her face and cries.
* ''Manga/MazingerZ'': You would not know unless you read the Gosaku Ota alternate manga -that was published in parallel with Go Nagai original's version and is the only place where he got a Backstory-, but Big Bad Dr. Hell was one when he was young. During his college days he fell in love with a woman named Yumiko who would become The Hero Kouji's grandmother and he stalked her obsessively (in his own words, he became her shadow). He tried to seem nice and totally not a pervert, but when he found out that she was engaged with someone else, he -who was already psychologically fragile and unstable- flipped out completely and attempted to Murder the Hypotenuse in a very discreet way: storming in the campus with a rifle and yelling "DIE, Kabuto!"
* In ''Manga/MinamotoKunMonogatari'' Rokujou's [[SanitySlippage sanity is way gone]] when Kaoruko tells her that Terumi does not love her and doesn't need her like she would like to believe. One panel is so dedicated to her thinking thoughts like "Lies, No way, You're wrong", etc. that the words are overlapping with each other. The symptoms are right there, walls full of photos of the protagonist, wanting to keep him locked up in her room, and scary crazed eyes when he says no.
* ''LightNovel/MirageOfBlaze'': Naoe towards Kagetora. When Kagetora repeatedly tries to refuse Naoe he gets fed up leading to him handling him quite forcefully and attempting to rape him.
* In ''Manga/{{Monster}}'' Eva Heinemann tries to win over Tenma several times after they break up, each time becoming angrier and angrier until she threatens to turn in his tie and use it against him.
* Haru in ''Manga/MyLittleMonster'' may be this for Shizuku. Even though he said he'd never do it to Shizuku, he told Kenji that he has the desire to break her legs so that she won't leave him.
* ''Manga/{{Naruto}}'':
** Sakura in regards to Sasuke. Sasuke rejecting her AnguishedDeclarationOfLove in Part I really depresses her, sends her to tears, and eventually causes her to make rash decisions, most notably in the Five Kage Summit arc.
** In the {{canon}} movie ''Anime/TheLastNarutoTheMovie'', Naruto goes right into a HeroicBSOD after getting rejected by [[spoiler:Hinata (actually a ruse so that she could save her younger sister Hanabi)]], as bad as calling out her name in a delirious state for three days. Later when he comes around, Shikamaru and Sai point out this flaw to him. Then he spends a whole day and night curled up in a TroubledFetalPosition and comes very close to ''giving up on everything''. [[FridgeBrilliance It's not shocking]], considering his {{Backstory}} and his history with Sasuke too. Thankfully [[ShipperOnDeck Sakura]] sets him straight, and he recovers and is dead-set in [[spoiler:saving Hinata from Toneri and properly returning her love for him]].
** Also in ''The Last'', when [[BigBad Toneri]] catches Hinata [[spoiler:in the act of trying to destroy the Tenseigan, and figures out that her accepting his marriage proposal was a ruse]], he goes into full {{Yandere}} mode and decides to HypnotizeThePrincess.
* In ''Manga/NatsuENoTobira'', Marion's CuteBookworm friend Claude commits suicide after Marion rejects his AnguishedDeclarationOfLove while he tries to rape Marion while being drugged. The next day, his body is found floating on the river, with his wrists slit; Marion [[HeroicBSOD has an emotional meltdown]] at this [[MyGreatestFailure and blames himself.]]
* ''Anime/NeonGenesisEvangelion'':
** AlternateCharacterInterpretation of Shinji puts him in this category. In End Of Evangelion when Asuka rejects Shinji when he's close to crossing the DespairEventHorizon he snaps and strangles her in a NeckLift. In a more familial sense Shinji holds resentment towards his father for abandoning him as a kid which he took as a sign that he wasn't wanted.
** Asuka gets quite upset when Kaji rejects her and when Shinji acts cold towards her as shown in a Director's cut. It's revealed she deeply resents their rejections and it is part of the reason for her downward spiral.
* The subtext of Yurimaru's death via Zakuro's ActionBomb trap in ''Anime/NinjaScroll'' is blatant. Yurimaru is an an electrokinetic {{Bishonen}} who uses RazorFloss--Zakuro is a [[ActionBomb viciously inventive]] explosives expert with at the least a prominent facial scar and at most is so covered in scars she looks like FrankensteinsMonster. Zakuro has a major crush on Yurimaru, but Yurimaru is a DepravedHomosexual in love with (and sleeping with) their leader, [[{{Immortality}} Himuro Gemma]], and so he rejects her advances rather bluntly. Yurimaru promptly stumbles into an explosives-rigged shed near the climax of the movie, and is blatantly blown to pieces when a detonating rat triggers the whole place going up in flames.
* ''Manga/NodameCantabile'': In the Paris Chapter, when Chiaki wanted to break up with Nodame, she beat the crap out of him (on a bridge overlooking the Seine) until he changed his mind.
* Chloe of ''Anime/{{Noir}}'' She turns psycho after Kirika rejects (or more accurately, fails to even notice) her advances, and then acts to protect Mireille from her, causing her to snap.
* Tabool in ''Manga/NowAndThenHereAndThere'' is unhealthily obsessed with garnering any attention whatsoever from his best-friend-turned-rival, Nabuca, to the point that he gets jealous of a freaking ''six''-year-old. Long story short: Nabuca continues to reject Tabool and it [[RivalTurnedEvil does not end well]].
* ''Manga/OkaneGaNai'' has Kanou towards Ayase. There's also Ayase's StalkerWithACrush who pulls a knife on him in a scene similar to AttemptedRape scene.
* ''Manga/OnePiece'':
** Vander Drecken responds very badly to Princess Shirahoshi rejecting his marriage proposals, leading to a very bad case of IfICantHaveYou. Subverted when it's revealed [[spoiler:he only wanted her for her ability to control Sea Kings.]]
** Arlong's possessiveness towards Nami goes far past his stated desire of keeping her because she's a good surveyor, and his emotional abuse, manipulations, and threats to kill her friends and family if she ever leaves him make him out to be a crazy abusive boyfriend. Hell, he even calls her adorable in the dub.
** Blackbeard did a IHaveYouNowMyPretty ploy to Jewelry Bonney. He said that she was too weak to join his crew, but she could stay if she became his woman. Her response was a kick to Blackbeard's face. He responded by getting pissed off, screaming at her that she doesn't act like a woman should, and says they should just stick with his original plan of turning her over to be arrested so they can get a ship in return.
** Absalom spied on Nami and accosted her while she was in the bath and hit on her in a scene resembling a rape attempt. She hit him with a GroinAttack. He follows that up by stalking and kidnapping her and tries to use force to make her his bride. He's even stated to like weak woman that don't fight back.
* ''Manga/OniisamaE'': Mariko Shinobu threatens to kill Nanako and herself when the latter tries to decline staying overnight, then holds the door closed so she can't get out. Luckily Mariko's mother Hisako provides enough distraction for Nanako to escape, but Mariko still protests.
* In ''LightNovel/{{Oreimo}}'' when Kyousuke rejects Ayase's love in episode 12 of season 2, she claims while teary-eyed she'll kill him if he doesn't go with her.
* When Tamaki of ''Manga/OuranHighSchoolHostClub'' gets rebuffed by Haruhi he sits in a CornerOfWoe.
** Hikaru has feelings for Haruhi and gets unreasonably jealous briefly when Haruhi shows she has a male friend. He gets over it and chooses to calm her down and sit with her during a [[FearOfThunder storm]].
* In ''Manga/OutlawStar'' Harry beats up Melfina and tries to kidnap her when she refuses him. He also tries to kill Gene the guy he thinks she's interested in and tries to MindRape her twice. He gets over the rejection though eventually.
* ''Manga/PandoraHearts'':
** The Core of the Abyss goes insane and gains a grotesque appearance when reaching out to Alice, intending to take the Intention's other half to make her less lonely while stating that she refuses to be without Alice.
** Due to Doldee's influence, Noise tries to kill Vincent so he can't belong to anyone else. Fortunately, Echo stops her and releases her from Doldee's control. Noise also kidnapped and abused Ada and wanted to stab her for being so close to Vincent.
* Sae in ''Manga/PeachGirl'' nearly pushes her love rival in front of a bus. And Momo beats up Kiley when he reveals he has a first love. In regards to Toji when he breaks up with her due to Sae's manipulations she sits outside his house in the snow stubbornly to the point of catching a cold and gets pissed him at him, throwing an apple at him, and yells "Don't fuck with me! It's me who is breaking up with you!" Kairi also sits in a CornerOfWoe when Momo rejects him. All of them eventually get over the rejections.
* ''Anime/PerfectBlue'': Me-Mania (real name Uchida) has a ''thing'' for Mima that she doesn't even notice. When she publicly announces that she's quitting her singing job and moving to something else, Me-Mania takes this as rejection. Being the crazed fan that he is, he sends her a fax message simply saying "TRAITOR" over and over again. Then he stalks her, murders people connected to her, and attempts to rape and kill her.
* ''Anime/PhiBrainPuzzleOfGod'' gives us [[BigBad Rook]] and [[TheHero Kaito.]] The two were childhood friends. Unfortunately, Rook was taken away as a child and eventually became a TykeBomb who determined that Kaito was the perfect candidate for [[TitleDrop Phi Brain]], a program filled with DeathTrap puzzles, the ultimate goal of which is to create the perfect puzzle solver. ItMakesSenseInContext. In the end, though, Obsession's love for Superman proved 100% true, when she sacrificed herself to save him from a magical atttext. As Kaito solves puzzles, Rook gushes over how beautiful he is when doing so. He even concocts a plan to convince Kaito that the best thing to do is to leave his TrueCompanions behind and join him. [[spoiler:It doesn't work.]] He gets ''very'' angry when Kaito's LoveInterest, Nonoha, displays how close she and Kaito are. When Kaito finally makes it clear that he will '''never''' join POG, the conglomerate Rook works for, Rook goes into a mad rage, screaming that Kaito is ''his'' and that he ''has'' to join him. Rook's [[TheDragon personal Dragon]] needs to hold him back from making a grab at Kaito himself.

Subverted, when she pretended to be upset by Shu's rejection and decided to "end it". It turns out to be a very cruel joke and she just shrugs it off. Shu doesn't respond well to this.
* In ''Manga/PrincessPrincess'' when Tooru tells Sayaka that he only sees her as a sister she has a FreakOut moment and [[SpurnedIntoSuicide tries to kill herself by jumping off of a cliff]]. Also, when Yuujirou kisses Tooru to finally convince Sayaka to leave Sayaka runs off crying. She also has a bad habit of [[MurderTheHypotenuse stabbing Tooru's girlfriends with scissors and pushing them down stairs.]]
* ''Manga/{{Psyren}}'': Eiji captures Marie, wanting to turn her into a statue. She refuses to be with him, so he decides to kill her.
* In ''Manga/RanmaOneHalf'' Ranma's suitors do ''not'' take rejection well. This example is mostly PlayedForLaughs with them trying to assault each other or him, and using various things like love potions to try to win his love.
** Also, when female Ranma discovers that Ryoga (that had accidentally hit Ranma with a love rod) doesn't love him back, he transforms himself into a guy and starts to beat the crap out of Ryoga. Normally Ryoga is as equally skilled in Martial Arts as Ranma, but this time Ranma was in such a rage that Ryoga was forced to surrender...
* ''Anime/RevolutionaryGirlUtena''
** Saionji is this in regards to Anthy. Whenever she attempts to resist him he slaps her and slut shames her.
** Also Akio in regards to Anthy. When she resists his request to come to him one night its implied he rapes her.
** Kozue holding a razor to Miki's throat while they're both in the bathtub together and calling him a traitor when he refuses to divulge details of his personal affairs to her. She also sleeps around and generally expresses loose morals in order to attract Miki's attention, especially when he shows Anthy more attention.
** When Shiori is rejected by Ruka she is left looking like a mess and gives Juri a furious expression when angry with her for having Ruka's attention.
** Juri herself suffers emotional angst over her secret crush on Shiori which she assumes is unrequited. [[WordOfGay It turns out that Shiori is confirmed to love her too but is in denial about it for certain reasons]].
** When Nanami assumes Touga doesn't love her like she loves him (as he's TheCasanova and finds other girls like Utena more interesting) she tries to kill Utena in a duel and acts very violent to her GirlPosse, smacking them and beating them up. They're shown wearing bandages and sporting bruises afterwards. She also tries to humiliate and smacks Anthy when she thinks she has her brothers attention and killed a cat as a child that her brother was giving all of his affection to.
* Mizore from ''Manga/RosarioToVampire'' towards Tsukune, to the point of wanting to kill off competition and freeze him to keep him for herself. Though she does get better about this and becomes nicer after being added to Tsukune's harem.
** Akuha of the second manga season is an even worse offender towards [[LesYay Moka]]. She freaks out and goes even more {{Yandere}} when she sees Moka choose Tsukune over her and tries to kill him.
* ''Manga/SakuraGari'': Katsuragi towards Souma. He rapes Masataka who is the one Souma is interested in and orders him to stay away from Souma. When Souma finds out he mentions Masataka's name leading to Katsuragi to try to strangle him and demand him to never say Masataka's name again. Also, Sakurako towards Souma. She goes crazy and tries to kill both Masataka and Souma. Generally, [[EvenTheGuysWantHim a lot of people]] towards Souma, whom are mentioned to resort to IfICantHaveYou when Souma tries to get his one time lovers to leave him alone. Also Souma towards Masataka. When Masataka rejects Souma out of fear, Souma is shown to be unaccustomed to not getting sex from someone he wants, so he proceeds to tie Masataka up and rape him repeatedly.
* ''Franchise/SailorMoon'' has a few characters that fall under this, namely the first [[Anime/SailorMoon anime]]'s Ali and En (for Usagi and Mamoru respectively), Prince Diamond (for Usagi), and Emerald (for Prince Diamond). And the [[Anime/SailorMoon R movie's]] Fiore [[HoYay for Mamoru]]. And Queen Beryl's unrequited love for Endymion/Mamoru. Most of them resort to MurderTheHypotenuse or IfICantHaveYou to have a chance at the one they love.
** Usagi in the first anime falls into a depression after Mamoru breaks up with her (to be fair, she doesn't know ''[[ItsnotyouItsMyEnemies why]]'') and tries to tearfully eat her troubles away.
* ''Manga/SaitamaChainsawShoujo'': After being dumped by her boyfriend Fumio Kirisaki declares "Alright, I'll kill him...Then I'll die."
* ''Manga/SayonaraZetsubouSensei'':
** Chiri towards Nozomu. One such case is when Nozomu (and guest commentators) immediately and bluntly rejected her suggestion that they could be a successful match (proper love) in the "Maybe Maybe" episode, despite considering and conceding the possibility of success of romantic relationships with Abiru (puppy love), Nami (normal love), Manami (unfaithful love), Kaere (violent love), Chie (adult relationship), Maria (acquaintanceship) and even Ikkyu (HoYay), upon their suggestions. Chiri's reaction to the rejection is frighteningly hilarious.
** Nozomu kindly informs Matoi that mutual suicide is true love. And then unfortunately informs her that he'd be happy to kill himself with her at any time, so she took up stalking him while her previous stalking victim whom initially hated how she stalked him got annoyed when she stalked Nozomu over him and started stalking her. This leads to a chain of stalking in that each stalker chases after someone that they think has rejected them.
* Both of the main female characters on ''VisualNovel/SchoolDays'' fit this trope to a T. In various versions of the story, they turn to murdering not only their rival but [[IfICantHaveYou Matoko himself]] when he pays more attention to one girl over another and [[SpurnedIntoSuicide suicide as a result of the rejection]].
* ''Anime/SengokuOtome'' has Akechi Mitsuhide, who is so yandere for her master, Oda Nobunaga, that after catching her "kissing" supposed-rival Hideyoshi (but she was just giving her medicine), she torches the temple that Nobunaga's passed out drunk in, then goes in after her "so they can always be together." Fortunately, the plan is thwarted, everyone survives, and although Mitsuhide passed out from smoke inhalation, she wakes up in the middle of getting mouth-to-mouth from Nobunaga.
* ''Manga/SeraphOfTheEnd'':
** Ferid takes his attachment to Mika and Yuu to the point of ordering Crowley to slice off their arms and legs if they try to run away or resist their attempts to become their comrades. Crowley engages Yuu and his comrades in battle after saying Ferid is pretty twisted to want to do that to someone he wants to be friends with. He's also implied to be upset/angry when Crowley says they're not friends and when Krul whom he has feelings for refuses to submit to him.
** Miharu's love for Guren led to her becoming a demon, dabbling in human experimentation to make Cursed Gear weaponry, and betraying the Hiragi clan because as she puts it she'll do ''anything'' to keep Guren by her side and as such gets very put out when he acts cold towards her or insists he doesn't love her.
** In the light novels Guren recalls the love story 500 years ago that led the Hiragi Clan to scorn the Ichinose Clan. Apparently, two Hiragi brothers were in love with a beautiful Ichinose girl. They both competed for her love with the younger brother winning her affections. The older brother responded by raping and impregnating the girl and castrating his younger brother. He then banished them from the clan which led to them having to create the Order Of Imperial Moon for themselves. The scorned brother could have defeated them but chose to let them live so they, their children, and their children's children would forever be looked down upon and humiliated by others as the lowly Ichinose clan.
* ''Manga/ShouwaGenrokuRakugoShinjuu'': Miyokichi still pursues Kiku even after he broke up with her. She, during the inn confrontation, wanted to kill herself and take Kiku with her because he would not love her.
* In the ''VisualNovel/{{Shuffle}}'' anime Kaede goes {{Yandere}} when Rin rejects her in favor of Asa. She attacks Asa when she shows up at her house, crosses out Asa's face in a picture of her and Rin, attacks her with a knife in an extra episode, and later throws herself at Rin naked while he's in bed after she just had a ShowerOfAngst. She gets better.

* [[spoiler:Nozomu]] of ''Manga/SteppingOnRoses''. To insane proportions. He even goes so far as to [[spoiler:go around with an ax "Here's Johnny" style trying to catch Sumi "cheating on him"]].
* ''ThreadsOfTime'': Sali Tayi. He explicitly tells Atan Hadas that if she runs away with Moon-Bin and doesn't marry him, he'll kill them both.
* ''VisualNovel/TogainuNoChi'': Keisuke becomes {{Yandere}} as a result of not having his feelings toward Akira being acknowledged and being rejected as well as the effects of Line making him insane. Whether he snaps out of it or not depends on the route (in the game). In the anime though, he snaps out of it and reverts back to his normal self.
* ''Manga/TokyoGhoul'':
** Kanae's despair and anger at Tsukiyama's paying attention to others namely Sasaki/Kaneki, over him leads him to consider killing Sasaki to get him out of the way. It also makes him vulnerable to Eto's torture and mind games when she states that she knows Kanae wants to make Sasaki suffer because he has Tsukiyama's attention. He ends up [[spoiler:cutting off Sasaki's hand and trying to drop him off a roof to his death out of jealousy and due to Eto's influence on his sanity but Sasaki decapitates him]]. Also, the cover of Chapter 45 shows Kanae vomiting and choking on rose petals. This is called "Hanahaki Byou", a sort of fictional disease/artistic symbolism where a person vomits flower petals as a result of Unrequited Love.
** Eto reveals to Kanae as she's manipulating her that they should both destroy the ones they love for not returning their feelings.
** Tsukiyama is implied to [[HoYay have feelings for Kaneki]] to a {{Yandere}} degree and it's implied Kaneki's repeated refusal to allow Tsukiyama to eat him is infuriating to him. He tries to persuade Kaneki to stay with him and the group and prevent him from basically going on a suicide mission. When Kaneki coldly rejects him Tsukiyama freaks out and tries to kill Kaneki telling him "I'm not going to let anyone get in the way of me eating you! [[IfICantHaveYou Not even you!]]" It is heavily implied in later chapters that his feelings for Kaneki became romantic, as the thought of losing him to anyone makes him crumble in despair.
** Sasaki theorizes that Torso removes the legs of his victims so they won't "leave". Once he becomes obsessed with Mutsuki, he becomes obsessed with following him and making him his, which especially escalates after Mutsuki responds to his affections in the negative leading to him to cut off his limbs to keep him from leaving. A volume 4 diary entry reveals that he believes they share a mysterious connection, and this "spark" of desire will be his salvation. He just believes they need to have a long, private talk.....then Mutsuki will understand their destined bond, and return his love. After he cuts off Mutsuki's legs and arms he declares he will forcibly marry him while having him dressed up in a white dress and putting a wedding ring on his cut off hand. He then stands in front of him shirtless while breathing deeply which heavily implies AttemptedRape. Usually, his past "lovers" rejection of him drives him to extreme violence to punish them including destroying their faces. Also, in chapter 73 of re: [[spoiler:Torso brings Mutsuki a flower crown, but gets angry when Mutsuki glares at him and won't accept his compliments. He beats Mutsuki violently while screaming insults. He says that Mutsuki being the only woman and he being the only man in his hideout means that Mutsuki has no choice but to love him. He later has them on a makeshift bed and says he only beats Mutsuki because of how deep his love for him is]]. It's worth noting that when Mutsuki acts complacent and sympathizes with him rather than reject him does Torso take this as Mutsuki accepting him and it helps to avoid angering him. When Mutsuki again starts to struggle and resist Torso's act of love he slams Mutsuki hard against some rocks.
** Souta invited Ami to the Ghoul Restaurant and baited her by promising that he would marry her. When it was revealed that she was meant to be eaten and he revealed he didn't love her at all, she had a nervous breakdown and Kaneki thought about how she had gone mad because of the rejection and deception.
** Souta/Furuta himself is the biggest example of a yandere who is not good with rejection in the series. He states that everything is about Rize, the girl he wanted to marry as a child. He allowed her to escape the Garden, because he couldn't stand the thought of the Washuus using her as a baby factory. But when she went on to have a life of her own, the thought that she might someday have a child with someone other than him drove him to carry out the Steel Beam incident. He gave her to Kanou, and let her be experimented on, solely so that she couldn't be with anyone else.....and intends to take over V and the CCG so he can marry Rize and force her to bear him a ton of children.
** Rio reveals his feelings toward Touka in the jail game. When she sadly rejects him he describes how he feels heartbroken and stays in the same spot for several hours after she leaves.
** The anime added an extra scene where Kaneki hallucinates Hide discovering that he's a ghoul, and coldly rejecting him for it. Then a hallucination of Jason comes in and kills Hide, while poor Kaneki can only scream in abject horror and sorrow. The assumed rejection and just the idea of losing his best friend terrifies Kaneki and it's made a thousand times worse for manga readers who, by the time the episode came out, [[spoiler:know that Hide has known for the whole series that Kaneki's a ghoul, has accepted him for it, and wants nothing more than for him to come back home.]]
** Shiro and Kurona have a nervous breakdown when Eto breaks them with her words that their 'papa' Kanou doesn't love them like they thought. When he essentially abandons one of the fatally injured twins they crumble in despair.
** Seidou's apparent feelings for Akira and his horrified belief she and the CCG are rejecting him when they resolve to attack him when he becomes a ghoul against his wishes which is the very thing they're meant to fight leads to him attempting to strangle Akira to death. [[spoiler:Luckily, Amon shows up in time.]]
** In chapter 123 [[spoiler:Mutsuki comments that the cafe stinks like ghouls, and asks if ghouls are what Kaneki cares about now. Smiling all creepy, Mutsuki asks him to come back and promises to destroy every obstacle for him. When Kaneki refuses, Mutsuki slashes his cheek and then attacks Touka.]]
* ''Manga/TokyoMewMew'' features Quiche who attempts to [[MurderTheHypotenuse murder Ichigo's boyfriend Masaya]] or [[IfICantHaveYou Ichigo herself]] when she rejects him. He later changes this to wanting to be TogetherInDeath with Ichigo if she doesn't go with him. It certainly doesn't help that he's a StalkerWithACrush and Ichigo's primary foe throughout the series, which only adds more fuel to the fire.
* ''Manga/VampireGame'' has Lassen, who fell for reincarnated vampire Lailis when they were kids. Since vampires retain their memories, Lailis was still devoted to her old love, and Lassen dealt with it by trying to become a cold-hearted ruler just like him, going further by crippling Lailis by cutting her hamstrings himself so she couldn't run away.
** Also seen in Leene, who forces childhood friend and love interest Yuujel to attempt suicide with her, then years later tries to kill a girl who Yuujel might be interested in .
* ''Manga/TheWallflower'' is about Sunako Nakahara, whose first love, in response to her confession told her "I don't like ugly girls". In response, she took to shunning light forever, hiding her face behind long black hair and devoting her life to horror, gore and darkness. Also, as a result of the rejection she also took to trying to murder people she's attracted to.
* ''Warau Hyouteki'': When Azusia and Yuzura were mere children, they were betrothed to each other by their parents. Many years later, after Azusia's mother mysteriously dies, Azusia returns to Yuzura with the intent of marrying him. Of course, Yuzura has a girlfriend, Satomi, and this doesn't sit to well with Azusia. Add to the fact that Azusia is anything but "normal", and she has no problem eliminating the competition by any means possible.
* ''LightNovel/WelcomeToTheNHK'': Misaki somehow knows an awful lot about Satou, and she is very obsessed about making sure that he always attends her counseling every night. After he rejects her romantic advances, she attempts suicide.
* [[{{Yandere}} Ryuuko and Haguro]] in 'Manga/WolfGuyWolfenCrest'' in regards to Inugami. When Inugami makes it clear that he likes his teacher Aoshika and not her she falls into despair and informs Haguro (who also lusts after Inugami) where Inugami's feelings lie. [[MurderTheHypotenuse When he finds out its Aoshika he sets out to gang rape her and try to kill her while telling her she's not good enough for Inugami, something which perhaps motivated Ryuuko to tell Haguro about Aoshika in the first place out of jealousy towards the poor woman]]. Also, when Haguro thinks Inugami has talked to Chiba when he was not around he gets jealous and he beats him half to death, bites out his tongue, defacates on him, and rapes him. While he's doing all this Haguro thinks about how this is all his form of punishment to Inugami.
** Post Haguro's death, Ryuuko just lost her mind, wandering on the streets and selling her body in utter disbelief now that she lost Haguro and couldn't get Inugami to love her back.
* In ''Manga/WolfsRain'' during a confrontation between the two, Jagara stabs Darcia with a poisoned dagger when he refuses her.
* ''Anime/YuGiOh'': In chapter 10 Ms. Chono was upset because she was rejected during a marriage interview. She apparently goes to marriage interviews so that she could reject every man she talks to.
* ''Anime/YuriKumaArashi'': While Yurika certainly loved Reia, the latter did not feel the same. This led to Yurika eating Reia out of jealousy and possessiveness and later trying to do the same along with what looked like AttemptedRape to her daughter Kureha due to the StrongFamilyResemblance.

Its thought process can best be summed up as "That bastard! How dare he kick me out! Didn't he realize how awesome I was?! Well screw him! I hate him, I hate him, I want him to die! He deserves to suffer for hurting me! But then... I won't have him! I know, I'll kill off everything he loves and then force him to take me back! Then it will just be us together forever..."
** Queen, a villain who had the power to control any one with an "insect gene" once tried to make Spider-Man her mate. When spidey rejected her advances on him though she showed a [[DeathGlare very nasty side to her]]. Her response to Spidey resisting her kiss was to call him a worm, slap him across the face twice, and vow that he'd love her whether he wanted to or not; and this was after she flirted heavily with him. ** The middle-aged, perverted owner of one of the modelling agencies Mary Jane worked for groped and sexually harassed her, and used his influence to keep her from getting work once she rejected his advances.
* Franchise/{{Superman}}:
** Superman once had Maxima, Queen of the planet Almerac after him. Maxima learned about Superman after viewing a transmission of outer-space gladiator games that Superman was forced to take part in, and set out to make the Man of Steel her mate. Since Superman rejected her advances, Max periodically attempted to wreak revenge, including an alliance with his nemesis Brainiac.
** The second was an Earth woman named Dana Dearden. She always fascinated by the legends of ancient gods. Since the Man of Steel is more-or-less a modern-day god, she transferred her interest to him, filling her room with various news clippings and other memorabilia of him. After stealing some ancient coins at the local museum, she gained superpowers and donned a hero costume of her own, insisting that she was Kal-El's Super-Woman. But not only did Superman deny her the love she sought, she was quickly given the somewhat irritating name "Obsession". In her fury, she destroyed an oil tanker, and disappeared for awhile. And when Obsession resurfaced during Superman's split into Red and Blue versions, she ran up against Maxima, who wasn't interested in Dana's suggestion that there was now one Supes for the both of them.
* Comicbook/{{Supergirl}}: Kara has an unfortunate record of falling for guys who later turn out to be jerks, super-villains ''or'' jerkass super-villains (Powerboy, H'el) who hate when she sees through their ruse and breaks up with them. When it happens, they try to abuse her... and find out what bullying the obscenely super-powered, temperamental girl is a spectacularly bad idea. Powerboy is a case in point: he brutally beat her up, including dragging her face down the side of a skyscraper, and tied her to a bed. She beat him up, dropped a ''house'' on him and told him never to bother her again.
* It's implied Loki is this to ''ComicBook/{{Thor}}'' in the comic ''Thor & Loki: Blood Brothers''. Loki explains exactly why he hates Thor so much:

* ''The Perfect Assistant'' features an assistant becoming obsessed with her boss, David. After his wife is sent to the hospital and it's believed that she may die, the assistant happily rejoices at the prospect of him being available. However, the boss reveals that his wife will survive, but the assistant proceeds to Murder the Hypotenuse. She tries to come on to her boss, which leads to him firing her. Her delusional mind makes her believe that he fired her because it was because he didn't want their work relationship to collide with their real "relationship" and he formally denies anything there for them. She responds by grabbing a gun and threatening to shoot him at a business dinner. Even when she's sent to jail for all of her crimes, she writes letters to him, still believing that there is a relationship.
* In ''The Perfect Teacher'', Devon falls hard for her new teacher, Jim. She befriends his young daughter, has fantasies about them having sex (nothing explicit is shown), and breaks into his house using a copy set of his keys. When she hears that Jim is going to move to San Diego because of his ex-wife, Devon kills the ex-wife and tries to confess to him. However, for obvious reasons, Jim rejects her and tries telling her that she just has a crush on him. In response to his rejection, she tells her father that Jim raped her, which nearly costs him his job.
* In ''Film/QueenOfTheDamned'' Akasha develops an attraction to Lestat after being taken with him when he plays the violin for her and allows him to drink her blood. After she wakes up centuries later she murders anyone who might prove a threat to Lestat and kidnaps him at his concert to have him for herself. She also killed her previous husband by ripping out his throat to make herself available, orders Lestat to murder Jesse to prove his love for her and tries to kill him without a second thought when he refuses.

** Danielle is revealed to Henry by Rodmilla in front of the entire court to have pretended to be a countess and is actually a servant in her household. When Henry finds out he rebuffs her, humiliating Danielle and she responds by running out in the rain to cry, ruining her ball gown. The next day when she's working on her chores she attacks the ground in fury. Also, in a familial sense, when Rodmilla basically tells her she never loved her even a little [[{{Tearjerker}} which is ''not'' what Danielle wanted her to say]], Danielle washes her hands of her.

It's implied she's also jealous of the fact that Auguste said his "I love you" to Danielle instead of her.
** Monsieur le Pieu is implied to be something like a StalkerWithACrush to Danielle, judging by his behavior toward her in the marketplace and then later when he owns her. When she repeatedly rejects him he warns that she should be careful how she treats him because her farm receives money from his business and he could simply withhold his "generosity" so that her "pathetic little farm would cease to exist". * ''Film/TheWatcher'': David Allen Griffin kills every girl Joel likes. He first murders Joel's ex-lover because Joel was going to retire to be with her. Then, he tries to kill Joel's female psychologist, because she's coming between them. In fact, in the movie, he even comes out and says that he did it because they got in the way of their relationship.
* ''Film/{{Sideways}}'': Stephanie's reaction to learning Jack's getting married in a few days? She pounds his face in with her motorcycle helmet.
* ''Film/{{Audition}}'': Asami, a woman who was auditioning to be Aoyama's wife and is happy about his declarations of love to her, goes to Aoyama's house and discovers a photo of his late wife. Enraged, she drugs his liquor. Aoyama collapses from the drug. Asami injects him with a paralytic agent that leaves his nerves alert, and tortures him with needles. She tells him that, just like everyone else in her life, he has failed to love only her. She cannot tolerate his feelings for anyone else, even his own son. She inserts needles into his eyes, giggling as she does so. She then cuts off his left foot with piano wire. Shigehiko returns home as Asami begins to cut off Aoyama's other foot, and they struggle.
* In ''Film/WeddingCrashers'' [[CrazyJealousGuy Sack]] notices John getting close to his fiance Claire and reveals that John's been lying to her to get him to leave while brandishing a gun. Later, when John tries to sneak into his and Claire's engagement party he has his buddies beat him up. He then threatens to kill John if he ever comes near Claire again. When John shows up to their wedding Sack looses it and tries to attack him. He also gets very angry when Claire tries to leave him at the alter to go with John.
* ''Film/DodgeballATrueUnderdogStory'':
** Gordon has his BerserkButton pressed when he sees his mail order wife getting friendly with another man. It enables him to get angry enough to take down another dodgeball team all by himself and later divorce his wife.
** White is furious when Kate rejects him and lays the smack down on him resulting in him bleeding. He gives her the middle finger and yells at her. It's implied to be part of the reason he hits her while she's down during the match between their teams, partly because he's a [[{{Jerkass}} dick]], partly because he's angry Kate rejected him.

Ten years later, another gorgeous singer (Susanna Foster) whom Hohner has developed an identical obsession with, discovers Marcellina's perfectly-preserved body, which Hohner has kept in a Snow White-like glass-lidded coffin for the past decade.
* ''Film/MadMaxFuryRoad'': The comic book prequel ''Furiosa'' #1 confirms this, detailing how the wives had to put up with invasive and humiliating vaginal examines performed by a rather pervy OB/GYN (and witnessed by Joe AND his sons), the threat of being raped by Joe' infantile adult son, being forced to stay up all night having sex with Joe, and having to suffer Joe's wrath if they ever dared to object to his sexual advances. When Angharad was revealed to be pregnant the stress of the situation got so bad for her that she attempted to perform an abortion on herself.

** When Wolfram tries to break the engagement the two have in order to protect Yuuri from the other demons that looked down on their relationship, Yuuri doesn't take it that well and he declares to Wolfram that he's not allowed to break the engagement. Yuuri's character development shines here as he would repeatedly complain about being engaged to a guy in the past.

* In the ''Literature/WarriorCats'' series, Ashfur. He reacts to rejection by deciding that Squirrelflight needs to feel as much pain as he had. He tries to set up her father's death, framing her current mate as a murderer in the process. When that fails, he decides to try killing her kits in front of her.
** Raggedstar wasn't good with this either. When Yellowfang (the she-cat he loved) decides to be a medicine cat, he gets angry and refuses to talk with her...and it causes him to demean and insult her a lot.

* ''Literature/TessOfTheDUrbervilles'' Tess, beginning when Angel initially rejects her and she offers to kill herself, among other things, if it restores his good name.

* Lord Arlington in the Louisa May Alcott book ''The Inheritance'' tries to seduce Edith many times but each time she rejects him. The final time she rejects him he reacts very angrily and it's implied that he means to rape her but Lord Percy shows up and Arlington departs.
* In Creator/EllenHopkins book "Crank" Kristina hooks up with Brendan who drives them both out into the woods, where they get high together, and he starts to take off her clothes. When she says no, he becomes violent, claiming that he has “waited weeks,” so she should “put up and shut up”. He then starts ripping her clothes off and rapes her.
* In {{Twilight}}, werewolf pack leader Sam snaps, when his imprintee Emily keeps rejecting his advances. She makes it clear that she isn’t interested and sends him back to his old fiancée, Leah (her cousin). However, because San imprinted on her and is thus forced to love her even against his will, he keeps pushing her. Finally Emily calls him out on being just like his father (who left his family), unknowingly pressing Sam’s BerserkButton. Thanks to a mix of frustration over her rejection and [[MommyIssues his daddy issues]] he attacks her in his wolf form, scarring her for life. And then they lived happily ever after!]] (...No, seriously--she just found out he was imprinted on her and decided she would just go along with it.

* Both Christian Grey and Ana Steele in ''Literature/FiftyShadesOfGrey''. Grey breaks into her duplex and rapes her into submission when he receives a rejection email; when Grey refuses to kiss Ana, this is her response:

Kind of sends the underlying message that this is all teens are capable of.
* In ''Literature/BestServedCold'', Caul Shivers risks his life to save Monzcarro's many times, even being permanently disfigured on her behalf. After the last such attempt, she has a tryst with the Grand Duke Rogont...and Shivers decides that he's now ready to kill the woman he's saved half a dozen times.
* In Lisa Scottoline's book ''Every Fifteen Minutes'' Kristine makes flirtatious advances towards Eric who rejects her. In response she files a sexual harassment claim against him. Subverted in that she later makes peace with him.
** Laurie however is revealed to be a sociopath who manipulates and sleeps with Sam in a grand scheme that results in people dying because she's angry that Eric chose Caitlin over her. She also threatens to {{Blackmail}} Eric while [[GirlWithPsychoWeapon brandishing scissors]]. When Eric finds out about her ruse and she realizes she can't have him she grabs scissors and deliberately cuts herself with him. In her mad delusion she informs him that she's going to tell the cops who are on their way that Eric tried to date rape her after she drank too much. She says she'll tell them that when she resisted his attempts to rape her he grabbed the scissors and held it to her throat. She then says she got the scissors from him and tried to run but Eric tackled her before ripping her shirt open. She says she had to kill him because it was self defense. She then makes good on her lie by advancing on him while similtaneously ripping her shirt open and attempting to stab him with them but he manages to stop her.
* In Evan Roskos book "Dr Birds Advice For Sad Poets" after Derek breaks off his fling with Sally she throws a tantrum, vandalizes his front lawn, throws homophobic slurs at James, and threatens to get her fiancé involved.
* Amy in ''Literature/GoneGirl'' wants to get her revenge on husband Nick for cheating and not paying enough attention to her by framing him. When she comes back after Nick promises to be a better husband she threatens to do terrible things to him again if he tries to leave her.
** Desi was rejected by Amy back in college and has since stalked her and tried to keep her isolated in his cabin to keep her safe against her wishes.
* ''Literature/TheDaggerAndTheCoin'': Geder is not good with rejection. How not good? He sends an army to invade Birancour because Cithrin, who rejected him, is living there, to capture her and bring her back in chains.
* ''Literature/HarryPotter'':
** After being rejected by Harry when he offers him friendship, Draco spends their first year trying to thwart Harry, and apparently complained about him through the entire summer break, and in their second year he's so busy teasing Harry that he completely misses the Snitch and loses his first game. Moreover, he's always doing things to get his attention in the Great Hall, even though the Slytherin and Gryffindor tables are on opposite sides and have the two other houses between them. Apparently, Draco has been frustrated for over seven years, because he teased and bullied Harry at every opportunity he got, since their first encounter. He was so deranged by Harry's refusal, that he became his greatest rival. Too many issues, Draco?
** This trope is also part of Bloody Baron's backstory. When he was alive, he found the woman he loved (whom Rowena Ravenclaw tasked him to bring back to her after leaving her). He killed the woman in a fit of rage after she rejected him, and then [[DrivenToSuicide killed himself]] [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone after realizing what he had done]]. Both of them returned as ghosts and have remained in Hogwarts since then.
* In ''Literature/TheGoblinEmperor'', nobleman Eshevis Tethimar is revealed to have molested a fifteen year old boy. When the boy rejected him with the force that his molestation warranted, he asked his friends to help him hunt down and kill the boy. Fortunately, he did not succeed that time. * ''Series/StarTrekTheOriginalSeries'': There was one episode called "Charlie X" where a boy with god-like powers ends up in the hands of Captain Kirk and Spock. The boy takes an interest in one of the crew members, and she is old enough to be his mother. He rejects a female crew member his age rather bluntly and rudely. He slaps the crew member he is interested in in her rear. She is appropriately turned off by his advances. Kirk tries to explain to the boy that what he is doing is inappropriate, but it doesn't work. It culminates in him making moves, she in turn bluntly rejecting him, and he angrily uses his powers to teleport her ''somewhere'' and he refuses to say where he put her. Fortunately, she gets teleported back safely by the end and the boy is taken by entities that will be able to handle him ''properly''!
* [[DepravedBisexual Chris Keller]] in ''Series/{{Oz}}'' in regards to [[HoYay Beecher]] whose spurned his affections which makes him act violent and ultimately [[spoiler:kills himself and frames it on Beecher]]. Also, Ryan in regards to Dr. Nathan as he develops a crush on her and he kills her husband when he finds out she's married.
** Adebisi goes into a depression, vomits, and smokes weed after Shirley rejects him.
** Unit Manager Tim [=McManus=] forms a brief liaison with prison guard Claire Howell. When he tries to break off the relationship she assaults him in his office (to the delight of watching inmates), then charges him with sexual harassment when he tries to fire her. Howell's later actions definitely cast her in the role of a villain — she assaults (and in one case murders) inmates, as well as using them for her own sexual gratification whether they want it or not. Also, when Ryan said they should stop their sexual relationship she threatened him telling him "It's not over till I say it's over!" Also, when Chris rejected her sexual advances she beat him up.
** Beecher got quite pissed off when he learned that Keller, the man he fell in love with, was working for Schillinger his enemy and told him he never loved him to begin with. It got worse for him following that, meaning Schillinger and Keller break his arms and legs.
* Rose of ''Series/TwoAndAHalfMen''. It's implied that she even ''kills'' Charlie when she spotted him cheating on her on her honeymoon. Berta lampshades this saying "Never cross a psycho woman." She also stalked Walden and had her ferrets attack Walden when he dumped her.
** Also Bridget, Walden's ex-wife. She screams at Walden when he rejects her for another woman and drives her car through his wall deliberately with an angry look on her face.
** When his wife left him, Walden tried to drown himself in the ocean. Apparently he didn't realize that the water would be really cold.
** Whenever Charlie [[LadykillerInLove develops real feelings for any woman he sleeps with]] and is later dumped by them he's reacted in various ways: hallucinating he's talking to them due to lack of sleep, [[DrowningMySorrows drinking the pain away]], doing drugs, not eating, losing sleep, and trying to bury the pain by sleeping around even more than usual to the point of getting physically hurt by the women's CrazyJealousGuy lovers. He's also showed up at Mia's wedding and tried to propose to her and win her back but got punched out by her father. Later, he mourns losing a woman like her while in bed crying.
** Several of Charlie's lovers became this way to him. One lady, who was Jake's teacher, had a breakdown after Charlie dumped her, lost her job and her house, and had to resort to living in a trashy hotel and becoming a poll dancer in a club. She blames all of her misfortune, including her parents disowning her, on Charlie because he dumped her which ruined her life after she gave herself to him. Charlie dumps her again later after trying to make things right when seeing how crazy and religious she has become and she returns to her old ways after having another breakdown.
* In the TV movie ''No One Would Tell'' we have Bobby (played by Fred Savage) towards his girlfriend Stacy.
* ''Series/{{Flashpoint}}'': The very first episode had a Croatian man murder his estranged wife, apparently because she rejected him. There are indications that he may have been mentally ill. The 50th episode had this one employee who was carefully fired because he was more ''interested'' in his boss than was proper. Unfortunately, he ends up coming back with a gun and shoots at least one person he comes across. He tries to propose marriage to his former boss, ring and all. She ends up rejecting him, which results in him getting violent and Ed having to shoot him dead. The interesting part was that the team had warned her that he is mentally ill and dangerous and yet she went and put herself in danger (at least to save an employee) anyway.
* Spike of ''Series/BuffyTheVampireSlayer'' took his repeated rejections from Buffy quite badly, and it leads to AttemptedRape.
** Then there's Tucker Wells, who trains hell-beasts to kill everyone at the Senior Prom, because he asked ''one'' girl to go with him and she turned him down.
** Anya was cheated on by her boyfriend (possibly husband) Olaf. So she turned him into a troll and became a vengeance demon, dedicating the next thousand years to punishing men who wrong their female love interests. Eventually she is forcefully turned human again, but three years later she is left at the altar and becomes a demon again for a few months.
* "Creepy Connie" takes Luke's lack of interest very poorly on ''Series/{{Jessie}}''.
* In an episode of ''Series/{{Supernatural}}'', Sam and Dean have to protect a girl from a spirit who kills people who have been involved in other's deaths. The girl's past includes a boyfriend who threatened to commit suicide when she tried to break up with him. When she left anyway, he ''did'' go through with it and [[MyGreatestFailure she's felt guilty ever since.]]
** In "Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things" Zombie Angela kills Neil via snapping his neck when he tries to leave her.
* ''Series/{{Dollhouse}}'': Sierra's rejection of [[StalkerWithACrush Nolan]] causes her to get institutionalized, drugged, and involuntarily conscripted into the Dollhouse. Where she's booked on regular [[{{Squick}} engagements]] with Nolan.
* ''Series/{{Cheers}}'' episode "A Ditch in Time". Sam Malone gets involved with Amanda Boyer (Carol Kane), who becomes obsessed with and possessive of men she goes out with. When he tries to break up with her she implies that she'll commit suicide if he does.
* Lila from ''Series/{{Dexter}}''. She had Dexter ambushed in a parking lot by a man who wanted to kill him because she thought it would bring them closer. When Dexter dumped her, she obsessively tried to win him back with methods including arson and framing one of his friends for sexual assault. She also burned down her ex-boyfriend's house with him still inside. Not to mention that said arson methods weren't just used on Dexter - she put Rita's kids, essentially her competition, in serious danger as well.
* Rick of ''Series/{{Degrassi}}''.
* ''Series/{{Victorious}}'': Trina in [[http://www.theslap.com/clips/109 an open letter to Kevin Richards]]. If Trina doesn't get what she wants, ''hide''.
* In ''Series/{{Lost}}'', resident MagnificentBastard Ben Linus had a crush-turned-obsession on Juliet. She, on the other hand, was with Goodwin. [[MurderTheHypotenuse You don't need a degree to figure out what happens to the poor fool.]]
* ''Series/DesperateHousewives'': George, a pharmacist, lusted after Bree once she ended their affair together and became jealous of her husband Rex. So he tampered with Rex's prescription drugs by replacing his heart medication with placebos which led to Rex's death. He also beats up and attempts to kill other people who look like they are trying to come in between him and Bree. He also drugged Bree at one point and was seriously considering taking advantage of her. He eventually proposed to Bree and pressured her into marrying him. After the engagement he became increasingly possessive of her, and increasingly violent.
** Carlos towards Gabrielle in the first season. She ''was'' cheating on him, but he ended up physically assaulting the wrong man ''twice'' (both of them turning out to be gay) and getting a prison sentence for it.
* ''Series/TheNanny'': C.C. shows shades of this towards Maxwell (as early as Season One, her therapist has diagnosed C.C. with being clinically obsessed with him). It gets much more severe after Fran and Maxwell announce their engagement. Upon hearing the news, C.C. immediately starts twitching, attacks the messengers who brought her the news (she's holding one of their hats, torn to shreds, in the next scene), and actually ends up spending a few episodes in a mental asylum (in Real Life actress Lauren Lane was taking time off because she was about to give birth). She gets better by the end of the series though.
** Fran gets her own stalker in the form of Jeffrey Needleman, an old classmate from middle and high school. He threatens to fling himself out a window if Fran doesn't start a relationship with him. At one point before this, he gives her an old makeup kit, explaining that it's the same one their fifth grade teacher confiscated from Fran. Cue Fran's response: "And you saved it...all these years. How sweet...and yet disturbing!"
* When Blair dumps Chuck on ''Series/GossipGirl'' he puts a dating fatwa on her.
* ''Series/QueerAsFolk'': A mild version in the case of Brian and Brandon. Brian is used to getting whomever he wants, whenever he wants. When Brandon rejects him in the backroom of Babylon, Brian has issues letting it go.
* ''Series/DancingOnTheEdge'': It is implied that Jessie's refusal of [[spoiler:Julian's]] sexual advances is what causes him to attack her.
* Q from ''Series/StarTrekTheNextGeneration'' has on occasion not handled Captain Picard's rejection very well. WordOfGod has stated that Q's obsession with Picard was intended to be romantic, so when read that way Q's reactions to Picard's rejections come off as that of a scorned lover. However even if not read that way Q is clearly not good with taking no for an answer and is very insistent on getting Picard to be interested in playing his games.
** In ''Q Who'' Q requests that he become part of Picard's crew and serve aboard the Enterprise, to prove to Picard that Q's powers are useful in helping humanity explore the universe, and that he's an indispensable asset to the Captain. When Q is rejected he throws Picard and his crew to the Borg, to show them how truly weak they are without him. As this was their first encounter with the Borg Picard's crew was unable to fight them off, and Picard is forced to ask Q to rescue them, reluctantly admitting to the entity "I need you!", and having gleefully proven his point Q rescues their ship.
** In ''Q Pid'' Q tries to grant any wish that Picard wants as a reward for saving his life when he lost his powers. When Picard rejects Q's offer Q disappears in a huff, "You are simply the most impossible person to buy a gift for!" That same day Picard's old girlfriend Vash shows up who Picard is much more responsive to when it comes to accepting favors, but is blinded by her feminine charms into making a few embarrassing mistakes. Q comes back later to commentate on how Vash made Picard look like a romantic fool, citing that love has made him weak and offers to get rid of her. This leads up to Picard being thrown into a fantasy world by Q where he must rescue Vash in a classic damsel in distress scenario to prove his love is truly genuine.
* ''Series/{{Hannibal}}''
** It's implied Dr. Bloom's rejection of Will Graham (because she thinks he's unstable) didn't do any favors for his mental health.
** Hannibal's [[FoeYay love for Will]] only deepens in season 3, which worsens his more spiteful, possessive tendencies. He leaves a "valentine from a broken man" for Will in the form of a corpse wrapped into a heart, takes Will captive in Italy and attempts to cut open his skull to eat his brain, and saves him from Mason's wrath (carrying him in almost the exact way another Hannibal Lecter did his love interest). Hannibal then proceeds to give himself up to the FBI, potentially being put away for life, just so that he can get back at Will for rejecting him. He also attempts having Will's wife and step-son killed by another killer, just to get Will's attention.
* ''Series/{{Rectify}}'': Ted Jr. is a CrazyJealousGuy over Daniel's obvious interest in his wife Tawney, informs Daniel that Tawney is "off limits", gets very upset and becomes violent. He also threatens to press charges if Daniel comes near Tawney again. One reason being because Tawney, in turn, has feelings for Daniel as well. After Tawney leaves him Ted Jr. is shown stalking her without her knowledge, drinks heavily, and beats up another guy partly out of frustration and anger as a result of the tension between him and his wife.
* ''Series/OrangeIsTheNewBlack'':
** Suzanne can get pretty nasty in season 1 when she believes Piper spurned her. She gets over it.
** Alex admits she turned to heroin after Piper left her.
** Piper doesn't take her lovers rejecting her well [[{{Hypocrite}} but if she cheats then its okay with her]]. In particular, after several occasions when a (sometimes well-meaning) Alex screwed Piper over, Piper finally gets a pretty twisted revenge: she gets a freed Alex thrown back into prison with her. She says part of her motivation for this is because she doesn't want to be without Alex.
** Chang ordered her gang-mates to cut out the gall bladder of the man who rejected her.
* ''Series/{{Gotham}}'':
** Barbara cheats on Jim Gordon with other men and women but flips out if she thinks he's cheating on her. When Barbara calls Gordon's penthouse, Ivy Pepper answers and lies that she is Gordon's friend. Barbara takes this as Ivy being Gordon's new lover and tells her to "Go to Hell." She also attacks Leslie with a knife presumably because she had gotten together with Gordon in her place. She later restrains Leslie and tries to stab her when informing her that she and Jim will get back together as well as making a HarassingPhoneCall to both Jim and Leslie. To Jim she tries to accuse Leslie of having attacked her and being insane when its the other way around and to Leslie she calls her a bitch and says she hopes she dies screaming. And later when having Leslie and Jim drugged and tied up in a church. She's wearing her wedding dress in an attempt to force Jim to marry her and goes as far as to ''threaten to cut Leslie's face off'' to prove to Jim that she loves him more than Leslie does. It's implied that she holds a massive grudge against Jim dating Leslie over her and later tries to attack him with a knife too.
** Edward Nygma (The Riddler) develops SanitySlippage and a split personality disorder partially because Ms. Kringle initially didn't return his affections and he killed her boyfriend when he found out how he treated her. He ends up accidentally killing her while telling her that he killed her boyfriend "for" her.
** In regards to the boyfriend (Tom), Ms. Kringle reveals to Edward that Tom threatened to kill her if she ever left him.
** And last but not least Theo Galavan who genuinely planned to have Jim at his side when he took over Gotham but due to Jim's refusal to bend to him finally orders him killed.
* ''Series/{{Seinfeld}}'':
** Russell became obsessed with Elaine and when she rebuffed him he acted increasingly unhinged and resorted to desperate measures to be with her which resulted in his death.
** In the Cadillac episode Marissa Tomei is interested in George. He likes her as well but informs her he's engaged offhandedly and in response she punches him in the face and storms off.
** Joe Davola had a StalkerShrine made of pictures he had taken of Elaine without her noticing. Naturally this creeps Elaine out. He later becomes suspicious and thinks she cheated on him. This causes him to run around searching for her and Jerry dressed as a clown.
* Leonard, Raj, and Amy have this trait to a degree in ''Series/TheBigBangTheory''. Leonard gets upset and tries to [[StepfordSmiler hide his sadness]] whenever Penny goes out with another guy, Raj tells a girl "If you say we're not boyfriend and girlfriend I will never be happy again", and Amy gets quite depressed whenever Sheldon pulls away from her or doesn't give her the affection she wants.
* ''Series/AreYouAfraidOfTheDark'':
** Marjorie and Joshua were in love and planned to run off and get married. However, Marjorie's parents somehow found out and stopped her from going. Joshua was upset and believed she chose not to come, so he wanted everyone to know how much he loved her. So he climbed up to the ledge they would go to at the top of the cliff. Then he began to draw the symbol of their love for everyone to see. The cliff was too steep and dangerous and before he could finish drawing the symbol, he fell down. He died thinking she chose not to come and rejected him.
** In "The Tale of the Dream Girl", Johnny is freaked out when Donna keeps approaching him after he finds out she's a ghost and forgets about their history together. (He's a ghost too). When he rejects her in confusion she sounds and acts really upset.
** In "The Tale Of The Captured Souls" Peter is really a 83 year old man who steals people's souls through his mirrors in order to stay young. To this end, it nearly kills her parents. He also develops something for Danielle (it's not clear whether its romantic or platonic but it's definitely twisted) and when she definitely refuses his WeCanRuleTogether offer he threatens to take her youth as well.
* ''Series/{{Nashville}}'': Avery is together with Juliette though he repeatedly gets so fed up with her antics and behavior that he rejects her a couple times. She resents this and is adamant to win him back, flaunts her pregnancy to get him to pay attention to her, drinks heavily, takes drugs, and when he makes it clear he wants nothing to do with her anymore she [[SpurnedIntoSuicide wanders over to the edge of a building to jump off it]]. Her manager saves her though and [[spoiler:dies in her place by accident]].
* On ''Series/{{Soap}}'', Billy Tate is in a relationship with his teacher Leslie Walker. When he ultimately breaks it off, Leslie makes numerous attempts at committing suicide in front of him, which generally fail spectacularly (often due to intentional or incidental interference by other members of the Tate or Campbell families). Billy eventually tries to convince her that it's not worth killing herself over. It works, and she then decides to kill him instead.
* ''Series/TheBlacklist'': In the episode "Lady Ambrosia" Tom’s ex-girlfriend kisses him and asks him to come with her– Tom politely turns her down, because he already has someone (Liz) and he wants to get back to her. She looks upset at this and later gives him one more chance to come with her. Again, he refuses. Without missing a beat, his ex jumps out of the van and gets her men to shoot everybody in the van. Basically, she shoots Tom who survives and has her entire team murdered as well. She then tells someone to set fire to the van with the bodies inside. When Tom escapes and visits her she attacks him telling him she's doing it because she's still angry he refused her. When Tom begs her to stop she says "I'll try" but later it seems like she was lying and is still holding a grudge.
* ''Series/CSINewYork'' has the rejected characters go the [[IfICantHaveYou "possessive"]] route:
** Ella [=McBride=] was portrayed as one of these for Mac Taylor. She followed him to the grocery store, gave him fake evidence so she could "help" with the case. She even slit her wrists in an attempt for him to pay attention to her. She also wrote on a card on her wall that was decorated with a picture of a crime scene "I will make him love me." Nothing has come of it so far, except that Mac visited her in a group home and she said something about an eyeball dropping into coffee which happened to Stella earlier in the episode while she was with Mac.
** Another episode centered around [[AThreesomeIsHot a man with two wives]] who was murdered. And the end of the episode it's revealed that his first wife killed him, because she was jealous of the attention that he was giving to the second wife [[ThreeWaySex during sex]]. When asked why she didn't just get a divorce, the woman says that it was because she loved her husband too much.
** Stella's ex-boyfriend holds her hostage and tries to kill her after she breaks it off with him.
* ''Series/BatesMotel'': After Norma and Sheriff Romero breakup, she returns home panting heavily before finally breaking down crying hysterically about it.
** Sheriff Romero reacts to the breakup by trashing his office.
** Norman does not approve of anyone trying to get between him and his mother whom he admits he has sexual feelings for. Sheriff Romero marries her so she can have insurance to help pay for Norman's medical bills. He maintains that he's not happy with the arrangement and tries to get Romero to leave. He looks for a moment like he meant to attack Romero with an axe at one point and ended up trying to commit a MurderSuicide with his mother so he could be TogetherInDeath with her. When [[spoiler:she wound up dying and he lived he ended up digging up her body and talking to it while hallucinating that she was alive]].
* ''Series/{{Faith}}'': Dear Lord, Ki Chul has some serious issues with this. At first, he'll play "nice" to gain the heart (loyalty) of those he's interested in but, the moment he perceives even a hint of rejection, he'll put them through hell on Earth.
* ''Series/{{Misfits}}'': Greg the probation worker. He's creepy in general, but starts attempting to seduce Finn after he sees Alex having sex with him (long story). At one point he also mentions having beaten up a young man who rejected his advances.

Then there's the final boss Nu-13, who is usually robotic with everyone else, but if she meets Ragna, she also becomes a crazed lovestruck and tried to have him and when Ragna refused, she [[IfICantHaveYou attempts to kill him]]. [[spoiler:Then you realize that Nu is based on Ragna and Jin's sister. [[BigScrewedUpFamily God, it sucks to be Ragna!]]]]
* Cia in ''VideoGame/HyruleWarriors'' is so obsessed with Link that she declares war on Hyrule to kill Zelda and take him for herself when jealous of his relationship with Zelda.
* In ''VideoGame/{{Ib}}'', Mary is obsessed with forming a friendship with Ib, displaying jealousy towards Garry and trying to ditch him a couple times, even at a point where it's clear he's in trouble and needs help. She tries to attack Ib when she thinks Ib will leave her. She chases after Ib and Garry with a palette knife. When she catches up to them she locks them in her toy box. If you anger her enough over the course of the game, she murders Garry. And in the ending "Welcome to the World of Guertena," Ib collapses in despair at seeing Garry go incurably insane and Mary decides the best solution is to keep Ib and Garry trapped in her world forever.
* Amy Rose from ''Franchise/SonicTheHedgehog'' was originally just a ClingyJealousGirl to Sonic, but she is suffering {{Flanderization}} into this as of late, with Amy willing to DropTheHammer if he doesn't reciprocate her advances. She seems to be back to normal in ''VideoGame/SonicLostWorld'', though.
* Depending on the ending you get, Maria[[spoiler:/Mary]] in ''SilentHill2''. It doesn't get much more Yandere than [[spoiler:going OneWingedAngel and becoming the FinalBoss]] because the target of your obsession rejects you.
* ''VideoGame/GrandTheftAutoIV'': During a conversation with Niko, [[DepravedBisexual Eddie Low]] states that he loved a woman but later found out she was a "whore". This is likely the same woman he refers to on both of his blogs — while buying supplies at a hardware store, a female clerk tells him "have a nice day" as many clerks are supposed to. Eddie, without adequate social understanding, believes she has a crush on him, so he follows her home and asks to "nurse" her (suck on her breasts) and when she resists, Eddie kills her in anger. He appears for a second time in a dark alleyway in western Berchem and attempts to make small talk. Niko is taken aback by Low's strange and disturbing comments, including asking Niko if he enjoys being spanked. Niko sternly tells Eddie to "fuck off", and that his behavior is "not cool." An enraged Eddie launches into a tirade about how exactly he's tortured and killed children. For example, he says that he once kidnapped a quarterback, conducted anal rape, "strangled him into knots," and pulled out the intestines of another girl "just to see if he could feel anything. But he couldn't," Eddie states. This prompts Niko to respond with, "You should get laid or something." Eddie says that he already did; "a little jogger down by the water, but you know what, handsome, I got a hunger tonight that can't be sated, come here!" Low then takes out a knife and attacks Niko, who kills him in self-defense.
* In ''VideoGame/JakIIRenegade'', the motivation behind Erol's attempt to run down Jak is out of envy towards losing both the big race and Keira. His envy seems to have corrupted him, as in the next game, he outright tries to destroy the world... all for losing one girl.
* Eddie Gluskin of ''VideoGame/{{Outlast}}'' has a misleadingly kind personality; he is, by and large, very charming, though upon being rejected he can become violent and insulting. He is obsessed with the idea of his "perfect bride," to the point where he mutilates people he deems mentally acceptable to make them physically acceptable as well. He appears to be only interested in taking men and removing and adding parts to create a woman by removing the penis, testicles, and excess body hair and adding breasts. His charming personality often slips when he is rejected, and he teeters dangerously between complimenting his "bride's" appearance and personality and insulting them, often using violent slurs.

Unfortunately, she will not take "no" for an answer, gets an angry look on her face when Pepe repulses her advances and proceeds to chase Pepé off into the distance, with no intention of letting him escape.

** Elmyra has a cute crush on Max and one short called "Can't Buy Me Love" has Elmyra meet an evil little girl called Rhoda. Elmyra sees hearts and positively MELTS when Rhoda says she'll let her be her best friend, and spends the rest of the picture bending over backwards to make Rhoda like her. It plays VERY much like any episode where Elmyra chases Max, only way more seriously, and heck, Elmyra even lets Rhoda HAVE Max (who doesn't want him after mere moments). And after she learns her lesson about not needing to give someone something so they'll like you, Rhoda comes by her window and says she'll be her friend again if Elmyra steals her mom's car keys and drives her to Utah. Instantly Elmyra says "okay" and rushes off eagerly to Rhoda's side. So not only is Elmyra completely infatuated with Rhoda, but apparently Rhoda can't leave Elmyra alone for five minutes, even after Elmyra dumped her. Elmyra also had a thing for chasing Fifi around, a voluptuous female skunk which persisted even after Fifi skunked her and had Elmyra go as far as to pose as Fifi's crush Pepe le Pew. Its notable that during all these times she shows affection towards the above respective characters and they rebuff her she falls to pieces and cries.
** When Max tries to get with Mitzi she rejects him in much the same manner that he did to Elmyra and chooses Dizzy instead. Max shows a rare moment of regret and sadness.
** In "Flea For Your Life" Itchy a young flea girl stumbles onto a corrupt business man's evil plan. When she attempts to tell the madman she plans to reveal his scheme he promptly has her apprehended and silenced... then forces her into wed-lock by threatening her family when she refuses to marry him.
* In the ''WesternAnimation/TomAndJerry'' cartoon "WesternAnimation/BlueCatBlues", Tom is sitting on a railroad track, waiting to be run over, after his girlfriend leaves him for another. At the end, [[spoiler:Jerry joins him after his own girlfriend does the same.]]

She continues to turn him down, so he drinks the last of the serum and moves on to trying to beat her to a pulp. To be fair, he wasn't quite himself due to the 'roid rage-like effects of the serum.

Not to mention her vow to kill Ayumu with her bare hands. Then she crosses into CuteAndPsycho territory.]]

** In ''Anime/TheLastNarutoTheMovie'', Naruto goes right into a HeroicBSOD after getting rejected by [[spoiler:Hinata (who did it when cornered Toneri aka by the guy mentioned below), as bad as calling out her name in a delirious state for three days]]. Later when he comes around, Shikamaru and Sai point out this flaw to him. Then he spends a whole day and night curled up in a TroubledFetalPosition and comes very close to ''giving up on everything''. ** Vander Drecken responds very badly to Princess Shirahoshi rejecting his marriage proposals, leading to a very bad case of IfICantHaveYou. Subverted when it's revealed [[spoiler: he only wanted her for her ability to control Sea Kings.]]

* ''Anime/PhiBrainPuzzleOfGod'' gives us [[BigBad Rook]] and [[TheHero Kaito.]] The two were childhood friends. Unfortunately, Rook was taken away as a child and eventually became a TykeBomb who determined that Kaito was the perfect candidate for [[TitleDrop Phi Brain]], a program filled with DeathTrap puzzles, the ultimate goal of which is to create the perfect puzzle solver. ItMakesSenseInContext. In the end, though, Obsession's love for Superman proved 100% true, when she sacrificed herself to save him from a magical atttext. As Kaito solves puzzles, Rook gushes over how beautiful he is when doing so. He even concocts a plan to convince Kaito that the best thing to do is to leave his TrueCompanions behind and join him. [[spoiler: It doesn't work.]] He gets ''very'' angry when Kaito's LoveInterest, Nonoha, displays how close she and Kaito are. When Kaito finally makes it clear that he will '''never''' join POG, the conglomerate Rook works for, Rook goes into a mad rage, screaming that Kaito is ''his'' and that he ''has'' to join him. Rook's [[TheDragon personal Dragon]] needs to hold him back from making a grab at Kaito himself.

* [[spoiler: Nozomu]] of ''Manga/SteppingOnRoses''. To insane proportions. He even goes so far as to [[spoiler: go around with an ax "Here's Johnny" style trying to catch Sumi "cheating on him"]].

** Kanae's despair and anger at Tsukiyama's paying attention to others namely Sasaki/Kaneki, over him leads him to consider killing Sasaki to get him out of the way. It also makes him vulnerable to Eto's torture and mind games when she states that she knows Kanae wants to make Sasaki suffer because he has Tsukiyama's attention. He ends up [[spoiler: cutting off Sasaki's hand and trying to drop him off a roof to his death out of jealousy and due to Eto's influence on his sanity but Sasaki decapitates him]]. Also, the cover of Chapter 45 shows Kanae vomiting and choking on rose petals. This is called "Hanahaki Byou", a sort of fictional disease/artistic symbolism where a person vomits flower petals as a result of Unrequited Love.

** Sasaki theorizes that Torso removes the legs of his victims so they won't "leave". Once he becomes obsessed with Mutsuki, he becomes obsessed with following him and making him his, which especially escalates after Mutsuki responds to his affections in the negative leading to him to cut off his limbs to keep him from leaving. A volume 4 diary entry reveals that he believes they share a mysterious connection, and this "spark" of desire will be his salvation. He just believes they need to have a long, private talk.....then Mutsuki will understand their destined bond, and return his love. After he cuts off Mutsuki's legs and arms he declares he will forcibly marry him while having him dressed up in a white dress and putting a wedding ring on his cut off hand. He then stands in front of him shirtless while breathing deeply which heavily implies AttemptedRape. Usually, his past "lovers" rejection of him drives him to extreme violence to punish them including destroying their faces. Also, in chapter 73 of re: [[spoiler: Torso brings Mutsuki a flower crown, but gets angry when Mutsuki glares at him and won't accept his compliments. He beats Mutsuki violently while screaming insults. He says that Mutsuki being the only woman and he being the only man in his hideout means that Mutsuki has no choice but to love him. He later has them on a makeshift bed and says he only beats Mutsuki because of how deep his love for him is]]. It's worth noting that when Mutsuki acts complacent and sympathizes with him rather than reject him does Torso take this as Mutsuki accepting him and it helps to avoid angering him. When Mutsuki again starts to struggle and resist Torso's act of love he slams Mutsuki hard against some rocks.

*** Souta/Furuta himself is the biggest example of a yandere who is not good with rejection in the series. He states that everything is about Rize, the girl he wanted to marry as a child. He allowed her to escape the Garden, because he couldn't stand the thought of the Washuus using her as a baby factory. But when she went on to have a life of her own, the thought that she might someday have a child with someone other than him drove him to carry out the Steel Beam incident. He gave her to Kanou, and let her be experimented on, solely so that she couldn't be with anyone else.....and intends to take over V and the CCG so he can marry Rize and force her to bear him a ton of children.

** The anime added an extra scene where Kaneki hallucinates Hide discovering that he's a ghoul, and coldly rejecting him for it. Then a hallucination of Jason comes in and kills Hide, while poor Kaneki can only scream in abject horror and sorrow. The assumed rejection and just the idea of losing his best friend terrifies Kaneki and it's made a thousand times worse for manga readers who, by the time the episode came out, [[spoiler: know that Hide has known for the whole series that Kaneki's a ghoul, has accepted him for it, and wants nothing more than for him to come back home.]]

** Seidou's apparent feelings for Akira and his horrified belief she and the CCG are rejecting him when they resolve to attack him when he becomes a ghoul against his wishes which is the very thing they're meant to fight leads to him attempting to strangle Akira to death. [[spoiler: Luckily, Amon shows up in time.]]
** In chapter 123 [[spoiler: Mutsuki comments that the cafe stinks like ghouls, and asks if ghouls are what Kaneki cares about now. Smiling all creepy, Mutsuki asks him to come back and promises to destroy every obstacle for him. When Kaneki refuses, Mutsuki slashes his cheek and then attacks Touka.]]

** Light again in the SlashFic ''Fanfic/ACureForLove'' when L essentially breaks up with Light, [[BedlamHouse wanting to have him committed]], Light becomes very cross and [[spoiler: [[TakeOverTheWorld Takes Over The World]]]].

* Lola the Main/GoldDigger lionfish from ''WesternAnimation/SharkTale'', to the point where she ''mercilessly slams Oscar against the glass windows'' [[spoiler: when he dumps her for Angie]].

* In ''Film/{{Scream 4}}'', Trevor told Jill he loved her, they had sex and then he "just goes out with someone else". Jill absolutely refuses to forgive him, no matter how much he tries to apologize. * ''Series/DancingOnTheEdge'': It is implied that Jessie's refusal of [[spoiler: Julian's]] sexual advances is what causes him to attack her.

* ''Series/{{Nashville}}'': Avery is together with Juliette though he repeatedly gets so fed up with her antics and behavior that he rejects her a couple times. She resents this and is adamant to win him back, flaunts her pregnancy to get him to pay attention to her, drinks heavily, takes drugs, and when he makes it clear he wants nothing to do with her anymore she [[SpurnedIntoSuicide wanders over to the edge of a building to jump off it]]. Her manager saves her though and [[spoiler: dies in her place by accident]].

He looks for a moment like he meant to attack Romero with an axe at one point and ended up trying to commit a MurderSuicide with his mother so he could be TogetherInDeath with her. When [[spoiler: she wound up dying and he lived he ended up digging up her body and talking to it while hallucinating that she was alive]].

* ''[[VideoGame/FirstEncounterAssaultRecon F.E.A.R. 2]]'': [[{{Yandere}} Alma]] in [[StalkerWithACrush regards to Becket]]. She develops romantic feelings for him and frequently does AttemptedRape on him. However he fights her off each time and this angers her. [[spoiler: At the end of the game she does eventually manage to rape him and is pregnant with his child]].
* A mild example in ''VideoGame/InFamous,'' which has the homicidal character Sasha, leader of the Reapers and briefly the [[TheDragon Dragon]] to the BigBad prior to the game. Kirk tries to explain to the boy that what he is doing is inappropriate, but it doesn't work. It culiminates in him making moves, she in turn bluntly rejecting him, and he angrily uses his powers to teleport her ''somewhere'' and he refuses to say where he put her. Fortunately, she gets teleported back safely by the end and the boy is taken by entities that will be able to handle him ''properly''!

* Series/{{Flashpoint}}: The very first episode had a Croatian man murder his estranged wife, apparently because she rejected him. There are indications that he may have been mentally ill. The 50th episode had this one employee who was carefully fired because he was more ''interested'' in his boss than was proper. Unfortunately, he ends up coming back with a gun and shoots at least one person he comes across. He tries to propose marriage to his former boss, ring and all. She ends up rejecting him, which results in him getting violent and Ed having to shoot him dead. The interesting part was that the team had warned her that he is mentally ill and dangerous and yet she went and put herself in danger (at least to save an employee) anyway.
