** Homer's constant amount of new jobs are usually more of a straightforward NewJobEpisode, but sometimes result from this, as its a way for the writers to keep some involvement from the main family within a broader story involving Springfield as a whole. Examples include his job as a Monorail conductor in "Marge Vs. The Monorail" and voice actor for Poochie in "The Itchy & Scratchy & Poochie Show".

** Homer's occasional propensity for this was actually a bone of contention in the writer's room early on, as, realistically, he wouldn't be able to take extended time off to manage a country singer or conduct a monorail while maintaining his job at the power plant. Naturally, RuleOfFunny usually won out.

* In ''WesternAnimation/StrawberryShortcake in Big Apple City'' of the original 1980s incarnation, the studio Strawberry Shortcake and Purple Pieman's baking competition occurs at is managed by a singular employee: the vice president of the theater, Coco Nutwork. Throughout the entire special he has to run back and forth doing every single job, cameras, lighting, hosting, with dedicated costumes and voices for each job. Lightly deconstructed, as the kmmense workload makes Coco Nutwork incredibly stressed out, to the point where he basically begs Strawberry to let him move to Strawberryland so he can finally retire.
