* In ''Series/{{Flashpoint}}'', Jules tells a suicidal man that she had a friend who had worked with survivors of Golden Gate Bridge suicide attempts and that nearly all of those survivors had later said that they felt instant regret as soon as they jumped, a split-second after it was too late to change their minds. * In Joe Keenan's novel ''My Lucky Star'', the narrator has been feeling sorry for himself until he realizes that all of the "problems" he was obsessing over are nothing compared to the looming possibilities of arrest and criminal indictment. He compares his plight to a man he read about in the news (a NoCelebritiesWereHarmed reference to motivational speaker Kevin Hines) who miraculously survived jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, and later recounted to audiences that the instant he released his grip, he realized that there was no problem in his life he couldn't fix - except the one he'd just created by jumping.
