Misspelling of \"hatedom\" and stating the obvious means only one thing - some twelve year old felt the need to defend his favorite genre.

Metalcore began life as metallic hardcore, which blended the technicality of thrash metal with HardcorePunk, which was reasonably popular in the early nineties and included bands such as Integrity, Earth Crisis and Converge. By the end of the nineties, metalcore had evolved into "melodic metalcore", which slowly grew in popularity until the mid-2000s, when it was a big mainstream draw. In fact, today, metalcore is the most commercially popular form of metal. As a result of this immense popularity, it has gathered a rather large {{Hatedom}} consisting of the same people that hate NuMetal, for the same reasons. Metalcore gets much less hate, but is still often considered a "[[TheScrappy scrappy]]" genre. The hatred is mostly towards the modern melodic metalcore bands, such as Killswitch Engage, however. The earlier styles of the "metallic hardcore" bands such as Converge and Ringworm, are generally better received by both metal and hardcore fans. This hatedome very often comes across as a HateDumb with loads of ComplainingAboutShowsYouDontWatch.

'''Metalcore''' is a subgenre of HeavyMetal that combines ThrashMetal with HardcorePunk, and sometimes takes a more melodic approach to the songs than thrash. It is characterised by gratuitous use of the MetalScream, as well as breakdowns. Lots and lots of breakdowns. If you're not in the know, a "breakdown" is when the music kind-of slows down to induce moshing, or something like that. If you're having trouble figuring out what it sounds like exactly, SomethingAwful [[http://www.somethingawful.com/d/garbage-day/suicide-silence-deathcore.php recommends]] you think of the "Darkness imprisoning me" part of {{Metallica}}'s "One", but [[DisSimile without the melody, the evolving dynamics, the tuneful vocals or the intelligent lyrics.]]

Unearth have little to nothing to do with either thrash or speed metal, just because they seldom/don't use clean vocals doesn't exclude them from being metalcore, they're at the very lest more metalcore than Lamb of God..
