* Thanos is occasionally referred to as The Mad God.
* In DC's GreenLantern series, the Supreme Being of Space Sector 3600, the god TDHD, has gone utterly mad, and was for some time walled off from reality by the GuardiansOfTheUniverse.

** ''Shivering Isles'' reveals that [[spoiler:the Daedric Prince of Order Jyggalag is a MadGod. The other Daedric Princes cursed him because they feared his growing power, and he now suffers from a split personality. How bad is it? His other personality is ''Sheogorath''. In his own words, he is a "broken ruler, of a broken realm". The Greymarches are merely his attempts to restore his Realm whenever he briefly regains his right mind.]]

** There's also then C'tan Outsider, one of the four remaining Necron star gods. He was tricked by the Laughing God of the Eldar into consuming others of its own kind, which eventually drove it insane.

* In the {{Pokemon}} movie ''Arceus and the Jewel of Life'', the titular [[OlympusMons Arceus]] becomes one after being betrayed.

* In ''PokemonMysteryDungeon: Explorers'', Dialga is a benevolent enough god, but for most of the pre-credits storyline, he's going insane and changing into ''Primal'' Dialga.

* ''[[MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic]]'' starts out (prior to the start of the series proper) with the corruption of Princess Luna, who resented the ponies sleeping through the night and living in the day. The result of that was her becoming Nightmare Moon, who refused to lower the moon and end night until she was defeated by her sister Princess Celestia. Of course, the fact that Luna was corrupted by dark magic to begin with also makes this [[MindRape mind rape]], but still....

* Most of the deities featured in AmericanGods are quite stable... except for [[EgyptianMythology Horus]], he's crazy. Fortunately he's [[GodsNeedPrayerBadly not really in a position to do anything damaging.]]

* In TheLegendOfZeldaMajorasMask, there is Majora. Very little is known about Majora, except that he goes completely ''apeshit'' and tries to destroy the entire world by crashing the moon into the earth.

* In TheBelgariad we get two Mad Gods: Torak is essentially this plus GodOfEvil and Mara went crazy after his people were wiped out in a war, casting illusions on the entire country that drives [[strike:everyone]] most people who don't have magic powers or divine protection who dare to make even one step into his country insane. HeGetsBetter, though.

* Sheogorath, the Daedric Prince of Madness from ''TheElderScrolls.'' His condensed title, referred to by the Dark Seducers, ''is'' "the Madgod."

Expect the NietzscheWannabe to consider it beyond good and evil, or that it follows BlueAndOrangeMorality that anyone can understand... [[GoMadFromTheRevelation if you just gaze into the abyss of madness long enough.]] If old and powerful enough, it may be an EldritchAbomination. It may not cause insanity or revulsion to observers, but that's usually iffy, and depends on if it has enough presence of mind to take on [[AFormYouAreComfortableWith A Form You Are]] (at least mildly) [[AFormYouAreComfortableWith Comfortable With]]

* Delirium from TheSandman, what with her being the AnthropomorphicPersonifcation of madness.

* The Christian God of ''{{Hellblazer}}'' is this. The First of the Fallen claims to have "found the Great Redeemer squatting in a corner of Eternity. Clutching his genitals... and drooling."
