added Billy Ze Kick

to:

* French band Billy Ze Kick did many songs about drugs, like 'Mangez-moi' ('Eat me', talking about hallucinogen mushrooms) or 'OCB' (name of a French cigarette rolling paper brand, famous for its long-size ones...). It was quickly a success among kids due to the funky music, and was hilarious to understand when they grew up.

* Some people will use jokes to test how quick-witted someone is, such as with this example: A chicken and an egg are lying in bed. The chicken is leaning against the headboard, a satisfied smile on its face. The egg, looking a bit irritated, grabs the sheet, rolls over, and says, "Well, I guess we finally answered THAT question!"

Hmm...despite the instruction NOT to self-insert at the top of the page, still had to cut three examples of "this troper."

** Oh, I interpreted that one as him having a dream of Hobbes saying that. (Especially with the other marbles one.)
** One comic about making funny faces had the line "An orifice is a fun thing to have!" This troper took it at face value as a young child and for some time didn't understand why his father told him not to quote it.
*** CalvinAndHobbes seems to be a font of LateToThePunchline for those who read it as children.

** Funny thing is...I didn't get it until just now. Ha!
*** For those of you who missed it... Try saying it five times fast. Took that for me to get it.
** This troper once almost managed to finish a whole chapter of a fanfiction where "Prower" was misspelled in a way that dragged the joke out into the spotlight and shot it dead.

* The very first joke a lot of people learn is "Why did the chicken cross the road?"/"To get to the other side." The problem is that in this case, Deconstruction the joke is that there is no joke. To get it you have to be familiar with the setup/punchline format; you have to have learned to expect some kind of payoff when someone asks you a stupid question. But instead, everyone's heard and retold it by the age of about four without having any idea why it was supposed to be funny, and then by the time they're old enough to get it, SeinfeldIsUnfunny.

* Matt Groening's LifeInHell has a very cute one. Milhouse Mouse is telling all his friends (including Bongo the Rabbit) a dirty joke about a lady who owned a little dog named "Freeshow." The punchline is that one day the lady was in the bathtub and realized that Freeshow had gotten out, so she jumped out of the tub and ran out the front door, tearing down the neighborhood street completely naked while screaming: "Freeshow! Freeshow!" All the kids laugh except for Bongo, whose face remains expressionless. Then he goes home, does his homework, eats dinner, etc.....before finally climbing into bed for the night, and then he gets the joke and starts laughing.
