* In one episode of ''Series/{{RedDwarf}}'', Lister is interrupted while playing an immersive virtual reality game, with the claim that he only uses it to have sex. Lister's reply that he also plays tennis on it, it's pointed out that he only plays it because he's having it off with the jailbait ball-girl.
--> '''Lister''': That is a total lie! She's not jailbait - she's 17.

** It appears that ''Creator/JohnRingo'' likes this trope. In ''Literature/BlackTideRising'', Faith's being 13 years old, and the age of consent in Arkansas (which is actually [[JustForFun/TelevisionIsTryingToKillUs mis-stated]] as 14, when it is actually 16), are a frequent topic of conversation among the men she commands and fights besides.

But the site's premise was to point out absurdities in age of consent laws by "offering" girls who are above the AoC, and therefore by definition not jailbait. Not An Example, amusing though the concept may be.

* Used on the now-defunct website "[[https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/marry-our-daughter/ marryourdaughter.com]]," which deliberately invoked PoesLaw, in order to draw attention to inconsistencies in US marriage laws concerning the age of consent. The website purported to offer teenage girls (some as young as 13) for sale to prospective grooms, provided they paid the requested bride price (anywhere from a few hundred to hundreds of thousands of dollars) and submitted a sufficiently suitable "proposal" to the girl via her profile. (Needless to say, the profiles were all fake, and no proposal was found to be sufficiently suitable.) It was purported as a way for parents to get rid of {{Bratty Teenage Daughter}}s they didn't want to deal with anymore, earn money (and have one less mouth to feed), and for [[TheFundamentalist fundamentalist]] parents to [[ArrangedMarriage marry their daughters off]] [[Literature/TheBible Biblically]].

* [[Creator/WillSmith DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince]], in their song "Parents Just Don't Understand," sees the main protagonist -- while driving his father's Porsche without permission -- picking up a totally hot babe on the street ... only to learn later (after he is arrested for speeding) she is only ''[[PunctuatedForEmphasis 12 years old!]]''

* Music/{{Winger}}'s most popular song, "Seventeen," is about a man who meets a woman he is intensely attracted to, and his surprise when she tells him "I'm only seventeen."

* "Little Girls" by Music/OingoBoingo is all about how the speaker "loves little girls." It's either a creepy song from the point of view of a pedophile, or a parody of this kind of song taken to its logical extreme, or both.

* Although neither song contains anything inappropriate (even by 1950's standards), the two Music/ChuckBerry classics "Sweet Little Sixteen" (featuring, obviously a 16 years old) and "Little Queenie" (featuring a girl "too cute to be a minute over 17") take on a bit of this when you remember that the songs were written and performed by a man in his late 20s, early 30s. And the less said about "Sweet Little Rock and Roller" in this context, the better which is why covers of the song usually adjust the girl's age to nineteen.

* FleetwoodMac's "Edge of Seventeen" doesn't make it clear whether singer Stevie Nicks was that age or the boy she was seeing was, except the lyrics say "he was no more than a baby."

This is covered earlier in the synopsis

The age of consent is 16 in Canada, 30 U.S. states and the District of Columbia; it is 17 in eight states. This means the age of consent is under 18 in a majority of the states (38). However. because one of the remaining 12 that have 18 as the Age of Consent is California, popular belief is that the age of consent is 18 in ''all'' states.

Those brief lyrics don't really explain why it's an example of the trope. There are other reasons sex can get you in prison aside from the person you're boning being a minor.
