Vernias finishes the story by writing that the two get married, not knowing that the story was about him and a monkey:

The offspring of the couple may be born in a WhaleEgg or from a PregnantReptile.

* Pepper Coyote's "Long Time" appears to depict one of these between a dog and a coyote, explaining that they met at a party in the forest via a HurricaneOfPuns ('PuppyLove', 'dog days'). Whether it's meant to just be AnimalMotifs or one of these is unclear, but the artist is a member of the UsefulNotes/FurryFandom with a coyote as a fursona, implying what you see is what you get.
