* ''VideoGame/MonsterHunter'' has both the Vespoid Queen (a KingMook version of the Vespoids) from ''Freedom Unite'' and the Seltas Queen (and by extension the Desert subspecies) from the fourth generation of games. The Vespoid Queen is aided by the smaller Vespoids during battle, but otherwise she's not too difficult to defeat; but the two Seltas Queens are more powerful as, with their male Seltas partners, they make up for more lethal duos when confronting the hunter.

* Franchise/MarvelUniverse: [[https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Brood_(Race) The Brood]] are a wasp-like alien race that are blatant expies of the [[Franchise/{{Alien}} xenomorphs]]. While most often foes of the Franchise/XMen, they have made appearance in several other titles as well. A Brood Queen lays an egg inside the body of a sentient organism; however instead of hatching out of its host, the egg converts the host's body into a Brood, with the Brood embryo's mind taking over completely. This is especially dangerous when mutants or other superpowered individuals are infected, since the new Brood may retain their host's powers.

* The Nerubians of ''VideoGame/WarcraftIII'' play with this trope, being weird combination of arachnids and insects. The nerubians are mostly spider-themed, but with a social structure more or less based on social insects, with their most powerful units called Queens. She's also not really any different in size or shape to the drones, the main difference being she has a bigger neck ruff. She's also not a villain: the worst she and her colony have done was keep the nocturnal Lindesfarne and Fenton awake with their buzzing, and once they knew, they agreed to keep it down.

** Ant Kingdom has Queen Elizant I, who was a kind and gentle queen who sought to find the Everlasting Sapling to ensure her benevolent rule would last for generations, only to fail and pass the task to her daughter, Queen Elizant II, who struggled with keeping up the legacy of her mother.
** Bee Kingdom, meanwhile, has Queen Bianca, another queen known to be a kind and gentle ruler, whose focus on scientific advances greatly improved the kingdom, making her one of the most popular rulers. She is also the close friend to Queen Elizant II, and the latter occasionally asks her for advice in times of need.

* ''WesternAnimation/BeastWars'' doesn't involve any real insect queens, but it does reference this trope for comedic purposes: [[CloudCuckoolander Inferno]], who transforms into a massive ant, frequently refers to Megatron as his "queen," much to the latter's chagrin. Towards the end of the series, Inferno more often uses the term "royalty" instead, possibly to avoid drawing Megatron's ire.
