She is generally accompanied be a swarm of other insects, generally bee-like, and having hordes of insect at her command, sometimes used as WeaponizedOffspring. * In ''Anime/ElHazard'', one of the duties of the Bugrom Queen (who is also a CuteMonsterGirl) is to lay eggs to hatch into more Bugroms. And she does indeed need to mate in order to produce them: when a male human villain with whom she has made an alliance suggests that she should try to produce more eggs, she says that he will have to give her some help with that.

* The various villainesses bearing the name "Queen Bee" from Franchise/TheDCU. A few of them have been aliens who lead invading swarms of insects.
* In the [[TheSilverAgeOfComicBooks Silver Age]], ''Franchise/{{Superman}}'' character Lana Lang sometimes gained insect attributes to become a heroine aptly known as "Insect Queen." * Queen Chrysalis of ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic'' is the leader of the insectoid/equinoids called Changelings, who imitate other ponies and [[EmotionEater feed on their love]]. Her goal is to take over Equestria and use the land as a virtually infinite food source for her colony.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheMagicSchoolBus''. In one episode the class gets shrunk down and go into an ant hill so Keesha can make a movie about them. She's fixated on having the queen as her star, seeming to think of queens as we know them, and is disappointed when when she turns our to be just a giant ant who lays eggs.
* Queenie is a cartoon queen bee of a happy hive in the ''WesternAnimation/ChipNDaleRescueRangers'' episode "Risky Beesness." Her subjects are drawn away by the hypnotic music of Irwina Allen, an entomologist who would turn the worker bees into her personal mindless minions. Queenie rules her hive by concensus, fulfilling this trope, while Irwina is usurper befitting the HiveQueen trope.
