Demons often want to tempt mortals into committing sin, and one of the ways they do it is through adopting a pleasing form, linking the metaphorical seduction towards evil that a person faces is to a literal seduction attempt. While sometimes it will be as blatant as a [[HornyDevils succubus or incubus]] trying to jump the hero's bones, in others it will simply be an additional way to throw the hero off their game by taking a form the demons knows they're attracted to, thus making it harder for them to bring themselves to hurt the demon.

{{Satan}} appears! But it's not the Satan you recognise -- this one has an hourglass figure and a cheeky smile, here to seduce our hero and steal his soul! (Pretty much never [[TheCorrupter the other way around]].)

This technically has a justification, or at least works as a blunt metaphor, since Satan is supposed to be a cunning seducer, and being physically attractive would be a legitimate tactic in this case. Literature/TheBible even says that Satan will sometimes appear as "[[LightIsNotGood an angel of light]]".

[[TricksterGod Trickster gods]] in some mythologies are able to take whatever form they wish. Trickster gods are not ''always'' evil, but can be, and certainly aren't averse to taking on an attractive form (even if it means changing sex) just to mess with the heads of others. If their form is tailored to suit the precise tastes of whoever they're trying to pull, they're a ShapeshiftingSeducer.

Mythologically, Satan actually could take the form of a [[HornyDevils succubus]] to steal men's semen, after which he would turn into an incubus and pass it on to a woman, in order to have kids. [[ScienceMarchesOn How exactly this was supposed to transmit Satanic genes is undetermined.]]

In media that features this trope, it's not uncommon for Ol' Scratch's [[GlamourFailure disguise to slip]] at times, revealing the hideousness beneath the attractive form.

Often found in settings with SensibleHeroesSkimpyVillains, and may also be [[MadonnaWhoreComplex (particularly for female characters)]] the shoulder devil in a GoodAngelBadAngel situation.
