* In ''Manga/FullmetalAlchemist'', some of the Briggs Bears give their beloved leader, General Olivier Mira Armstrong, royal titles. At various points in the manga she is identified by her underlings as "the princess" and "our queen." It's partly a nod to the fact that the Armstrong family used to be nobility, but mostly it's using this trope as an indicator of their reverence for her.

* In ''ComicBook/{{Lanfeust}}'', the thirteen Merchant Princes of Merrion are a council apparently made of elected monarchs-CEO to biggest corporations and owners of the known universe. [[spoiler: When one, princess Ophredla, dies]], Cixi inherit her title.

* ''Fanfic/LinkedInLifeAndLove'': Played with. As Blake is the daughter of the King of Menagerie, many people call her a princess. Blake points out that her father is ''not'' a king; Menagerie isn't a Kingdom, her father is the Chief, and he was elected to that position. Weiss counters that no one outside Menagerie is going to acknowledge the distinction; in their history classes, Ghira is referred to as "king." Even many Faunus in Menagerie often think of Ghira as their king.

* Princesa Sugehit was given her ring name and [[MaskedLuchador butterfly mask]] because when she started training in lucha libre those around her found themselves in the presence of a prodigy whom they believed would soar to the top of the sport even though she was [[PrejudicedForPecs very small]]. Incidentally, Sugehit is the name Wrestling/{{CMLL}} settled on because it was her ([[SecretIdentity not yet revealed]]) real middle name. It turns out "Sujei", "Sujey", "Sugey" and several other similarly spelled words have similar but different meanings relating to things that are "high up" and no one could [[SpellMyNameWithAnS seem to agree which fit this princess best]](even CMLL, alternated between "Sugehit" and "Sugeth" before she was officially unmasked by Zeuxis).[[/folder]]

Added DiffLines:

* ''VideoGame/AceCombat5TheUnsungWar'': Osean troops eventually begin referring to your wingman Kei Nagase as "the Princess", out of a mixture of earnest admiration (since, like the rest of your Wardog squadron, Nagase is national war hero) and barely-contained horniness (as not only is Nagase the only female pilot in your team, but she also [[GoodLookingPrivates looks damn fine in a flight suit]]). This is particularly true of the Sea Goblin marine squad who cross paths with the Wardogs regularly, including [[spoiler:rescuing Nagase when she is shot down over Glubina]].

* ''Literature/DungeonCrawlerCarl'': Carl enters the dungeon with [[FormallyNamedPet Princess Donut]], his ex-girlfriend's award-winning cat. Shortly thereafter, Donut [[UpliftedAnimal gains sapience]], and she is absolutely insistent that she ''is'' a princess, even if it's dint of being a beauty contest grand champion than anything so droll as ''bloodline''. All [=NPCs=] immediately identify her as a princess on sight, and most people from outside the dungeon also politely refer to her as "princess."
