** Additionally, the [[HalloweenEpisode Halloween Comic]] features a few of the game's cast at a Halloween Party (presumably at Watchpoint: Gibraltar or another Overwatch base). In it, Reaper, Mercy, Junkrat, and Roadhog wear the costumes featured in their in-game skins (the Headless Horseman, a [[Main/{{Fanservice}} witch]], [[Main/{{Frankenstein}} Dr. "Junkenstien"]], and Junkenstien's monster, respectively), and McCree dressed as VanHelsing, Ana as a pirate, and Torbjorn as a viking. Interestingly, Soldier: 76 and Reinhardt's costumes in the comic are different from their in game skins (the former as EvelKnievel (which, coincidentally, is identical to his Daredevil: 76 skin), and the latter getting two costumes: a Naval Captain at the party, and the king of the castle in the story he tells).

* Reaper, Ana, Soldier: 76, Mercy, Junkenstein, Roadhog, Symmetra, Pharah, Zenyatta, Reinhardt, and Bastion all get in the Halloween spirit with their skins during the Halloween ''VideoGame/{{Overwatch}}'' update.

* Thunderkitty often wears leopard/cheetah print singlets, unsurprisingly but at New Era Wrestling in October of 2012, her nemesis Cameron Star dressed as Wonder Woman. Since Star was a {{heel}} and Thunderkitty was a baby {{face}}, the result probably looked backwards to comic book/cartoon fans. A good deal of other wrestlers were in costume too though(Star's partner Damian Cole was some other stars and stripes themed DC character), including some as referees, as if they weren't {{easily distracted|referee}} enough.[[/folder]]

* At the Halloween of the WhateleyUniverse, Team Kimba went as characters from TenchiMuyo since Tennyo cannot keep from looking like Ryoko. No one told Phase that Generator made a Sasami costume for him to go in.

It started out in 2004, with Agatha as [[Film/{{Ghostbusters}} Slimer]], Meridith as [[Franchise/StarWars Darth Vader]], and Moria as [[Franchise/ANightmareOnElmStreet Freddy Krueger]]. Other famous examples include Edmund as Film/JamesBond, Liam as [[Literature/TheSilenceOfTheLambs Hannibal Lecter]], Sasha as [[TheRing Samara]], Ian as [[Franchise/LupinIII Jigen]], Vanessa as Creator/ElviraMistressOfTheDark, and Agatha as the [[FanDisservice most terrifying thing]] you've ever seen in your life.
** While the majority of shopkeepers didn't indulge in this trope for Halloween 2009, it ''did'' bring us Edmund as Franchise/{{Batman}}. In the midst of the event, the [=Dernier* Cri=] crew returned with Brennivin as Andy Warhol, Kanoko as fellow RIG character Hatsya, and... Radio [[PiratesOfTheCaribbean Jack Sparrow]].
