Perhaps the character is TheLancer who has trouble getting along with TheHero and [[TeethClenchedTeamwork doesn't like working with]] them that much. They may be a [[IWorkAlone natural-born loner]] who isn't concerned about intimate friendship. They may be a prideful {{Jerkass}} who thinks that having friends makes them uncool and [[VirtueIsWeakness weak]]. When the chips are down, they still do help out their "friend" because it's the [[GoodSamaritan right thing to do]].
