* Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle, the early Hollywood star who was accused of raping actress Virginia Rappe at a party and rumored to have crushed her to death with his weight. The evidence was as ambiguous as it gets, and he was acquitted, but only after two mistrials, and the press and MoralGuardians had instantly assumed he was guilty and had already made the case into such a massive snowball of kneejerk disgust, moral shock and BodyHorror that it utterly ruined him long before there was a chance to look at the facts. No, it is not PoliticalCorrectnessGoneMad to be concerned about the dangers of applying this trope in RealLife.

** In ''SamuraiWarriors'', this goes to Tokugawa Ieyasu, but he's far kinder and more amiable than Dong Zhuo. But considering most of the characters seem to flock toward the Western army in this game, many of them see him as a FatBastard.

* The male Dursleys in ''HarryPotter'', particularly Dudley. Indeed, in Dudley's introductions in the first book, Rowling spends nearly as much time going over how fat he is as she does over his actual bullying of Harry - regardless of which subject she touches on, Dudley inevitably ends up coming across as a disgusting character.

**** Although she averted it with Neville, that is a coward for most of the time, but yet, is noble enough to risk his own life to save his friends.

** Even so, being overweight seems to be something that characters have to overcome in the stories -- Neville [[spoiler: eventually loses weight in the final book when he [[TookALevelInBadass becomes a Real Man]], similarly, Dudley isn't represented as at all 'manly' until he loses weight and gets involved with sports, despite his bullying and physical advantage from the previous books]]. The characters who do not lose weight tend to be alone romantically or be villains.
*** Neville is ''never'' portrayed as villainous - he never comes off as anything worse than an affable (if timid) doormat. As such, he doesn't fit this trope.
** I also can't think of any female characters represented as being overweight, except maybe Millicent Bulstrode and Molly Weasley, who are displayed as being completely outside the realm of attractiveness either for being ugly and mannish, or being a mother hen. It's not something that any hero characters or popular students have, and kids like Neville have to man up and leave their 'baby fat' behind before they are accepted by their peers (though this mentality is not surprising in kids that age, it is surprising that there seem to be no exceptions and there's a sense of having 'token fatties' for Harry & co to pity because of their inability to function as normal people should or dislike because of their innate repulsiveness.)

* Aversion: The hero of China Mieville's ''PerdidoStreetStation'', Isaac Dan der Grimnebulin, is a fat scientist and a decent human being.

Interestingly, some comedians ([[StrawTraitor usually fat ones]]) complain about PoliticalCorrectnessGoneMad when it comes to fat jokes...although the sheer quantity of recent examples we have amassed tend to disagree on this front. Obesity is so universally seen as a negative CharacterTrait that it's relatively common for characters to be given some AdaptationalAttractiveness to offset this fact.

She was also alleged to have fallen asleep in court, cussed at other employees, and used the bailiff to spy on other staff at the regional justice center. * Cronos from GodOfWar is actually described as this by Ben Croshaw. Clotho also qualifies so much she actually makes jabba the hutt seem like Michael Phelps.
