Named after what Microsoft calls its minor Windows upgrades, and, of course, FanService. (In fact, a service pack or patch is often used to pull this off in video games.) When this is done on purpose to an ActionGirl as CharacterDevelopment, it's an AdrenalineMakeover. Compare BeautifulAllAlong and FailPolish, which is when this happens to characters who are initially not supposed to be considered attractive.

* Every single character in KatekyoHitmanReborn due in part to ArtEvolution. Most noticable with the main character Tsuna who changes from an ugly ButtMonkey into a CuteShotaroBoy and Xanxus who looks like he had a chin job during the TimeSkip.

And in a moment of utter brilliance - Brent predicted the whole event years ago, as an out of continuity joke. Kurtz keeping up with his own continuity, over five years later on a nearly daily strip? That's ''awesome'' right there.
