** In ''[[ComicBook/GenerationsMarvelComics Generations]]'' #3, [[Comicbook/{{Wolverine}} Logan]] remarks that [[Comicbook/{{X 23}} Laura]], his daughter/OppositeSexClone, has his mother's eyes. Played with in that Laura's eyes are green, while Elizabeth Howlett's are blue, making it something ''in'' Laura's eyes that reminds him of his mother.[[note]]Never mind that at the time the story is set, Logan wouldn't have had memory of his mother.[[/note]]

In Volume 3, her [[CoolUncle uncle Qrow]] is discussing his academy days at Professor Ozpin's [[ExtranormalInstitute school]] with her and her half-sister, [[CoolBigSis Yang]]; he pulls out a photograph of the team he was in, which includes [[ByronicHeroine Raven]] (his twin sister and Yang's mother), [[MissingMom Summer]] (Ruby's mother), and [[OverprotectiveDad Taiyang]] (the father of both Ruby and Yang). In the picture, half of Summer's face is hidden by a white hood, but the one eye that is visible reveals that her eyes were identical to Ruby's. Mercury puts it together quickly, given the StrongFamilyResemblance, remarking that Jet's "male render" obscures it somewhat, but the eyes were the strongest giveaway.

** Harry's second son is mentioned in the epilogue as the only one of his three children to have inherited the green eyes.

** House Lannister is characterized by their green eyes, though the shade is different for each one. Tyrion has a mismatch of green and black eyes, which may be related to his dwarf condition. Meanwhile, the other ruling family of King's Landing, House Baratheon, is characterized by their blue eyes. Robert has them, as do his brothers, as well as his bastards. His children with Cersei inherited her green eyes, which is a {{Foreshadowing}} to the fact that [[spoiler:they aren't really his]].

This led their mother (who wasn't aware of Keith's parentage) to mistake him for being her husband's bastard child, and led to both the deterioration of their marriage and her verbally abusing Keith alongside Catarina in the original timeline, with the duke not even bothering to clean up the misunderstanding. Fortunately in the series' timeline, that misunderstanding has been cleared up.

* Parodied in ''Literature/{{Discworld}}'' with the Igors, who are known for grafting still-usable body parts from dead relatives into their bodies; when an Igor is said to have his uncle's eyes, [[HavingAHeart it's meant to be taken literally]].

* In ''LightNovel/EndoAndKobayashiLiveTheLatestOnTsundereVillainessLieselotte'', Marquis Bruno Riefenstahl recognizes [[spoiler:Fiene]] as the child of [[spoiler:his late brother August]] partly because both of them have [[InnocentBlueEyes sky-blue eyes]].
