* ''VideoGame/Persona5'': Goro Akechi is revealed to be TheMole in the party who sold out the protagonist. This might disappoint players as it's a major CaptainObviousReveal... however, it's quickly revealed that the ''real'' twist is the party knew all along that he was the traitor, and the whole FramingDevice interrogation of the protagonist was one big BatmanGambit on their part to sway Prosecutor Sae Nijima to their side, fake the protagonist's death, and trick Akechi into exposing his boss.

* ''Film/WhoFramedRogerRabbit'': A particularly clever one occurs with [[HangingJudge Judge Doom]]. Right from the moment he is introduced, Doom is an ObviouslyEvil [[JudgeJuryAndExecutioner villain]] who [[EvilWearsBlack dresses in all-black,]] [[KickTheDog regularly tortures and kills toons]] [[EvilIsPetty for little reason,]] and is relentlessly hunting Roger as the prime suspect in the murder of Marvin Acme. So it's [[CaptainObviousReveal no real surprise]] to Eddie Valiant and the audience when it's revealed he's Acme's killer, thus setting the plot in motion, as well as the killer of R.K. Maroon. However, all of this distracts the audience from the ''real twist'': Judge Doom is actually a toon [[note]]Which explains why he is so over-the-top evil throughout the film since toons have been shown to be naturally over-the-top[[/note]], and is the toon who killed Eddie's brother years ago.

* ''Manga/{{Bleach}}'': The EvilPlan of Xcution is to alter their memories with Tsukishima's Fullbring, train Ichigo to unlock and how to use ''his'' Fullbring, then later Tsukishima unalters their memories, and finally they steal his reawakened powers and share them if with each other. After Ginjou successfully steals (part of) Ichigo's powers, the other memobers of Xcution (minus Tsukishima) remind Ginjou of their agreement of sharing Ichigo's powers. Annoyed by them, Ginjou cuts them all (again, minus Tsukishima). Which is how they receive their power-ups.
