sorry but the trope is narrower than just "a fight to distract guards". the heroes have to be guarded and the ensuing fight has to escalate to overpower the surprised captors.

* ''Series/{{Leverage}}'' has at least two examples.
** In "The Homecoming Job," Nate & Sophie wander around a shipping yard dressed as tourist just off a cruise ship arguing about where they parked their car in order to distract the guards so that the rest of the team can sneak in and set up the con needed to take down a Congressman who is trying to smuggle money he embezzled out of the country.
** In "The Ice Man Job," Eliot poses as a guard and Hardison pretends to knock him out during a fake fistfight to not only impress some diamond-stealing Russian goons, but to also buy Parker time to break into the vault where the diamonds are and help set up all the bad guys involved before the real police arrive.

The heroes are being held up at gunpoint by enemy goons - things are looking really grim. So, they start hurling insults at each other, blaming their friends for getting them into this mess that's now liable to be the end of them. Their friend launches into a tirade about how it was not their fault at all, but their own. Wagging of fingers in faces or punches ensue between the arguing parties.

The heated argument usually escalates in seconds to punches, much to the confusion of the onlooking goons - who are suddenly at the receiving end of the pummeling, usually resulting in their disarmament as the heroes suddenly turn their punches towards their captor, which was their ploy all along.
