* ''WebComic/ScarletLady'': An ongoing storyline in the series is Chat Noir trying to learn the identity of Bee Miraculous holder Marigold (aka Marinette). Later, after Marinette sees Tikki be "stolen" by Chloé when the former is too sick to fight back (Chloé actually holds the Ladybug Miraculous in this AU and was simply refusing to get the sick Tikki help), she enlists Chat Noir's help in trying to deduce Scarlet Lady's identity so they can take the earrings from her (thinking that if Scar is careless enough to let her kwami get kidnapped, then she's too irresponsible to be a hero).

** Despite not having any concrete evidence, Nino correctly deduces that Gabriel Agreste is the prime suspect for Hawkmoth, due to his wealth, reclusive nature, and ControlFreak tendencies (all of which would lend themselves well to a supervillain). [[spoiler:In "Heroes' Day Part 2", he is vindicated when Hawkmoth is finally defeated and unmasked.]]

* ''Literature/{{Animorphs}}'': Visser One begins to suspect that the titular heroes are not andalites, but humans with access to morphing technology, due to how they seem to go out of their way to avoid human casualties whenever they can (something few andalites would do). The clincher is when Marco make a reference to ''WesternAnimation/ThePrinceOfEgypt''; as she notes, andalites aren't exactly known for making pop culture references.
