* Three members of ''Manga/AsteroidInLove'''s main cast have irises the same color as their hair: Mira (brown), Ao ([[MeaningfulName blue]]), and Sakura (red).
* Very common in ''Literature/{{Baccano}}'', as demonstrated by Rachel, Nice, Nicholas, Luck, Ronnie (yellow), Claire, Ennis (reddish-brown), Czeslaw, Dallas, Jaccuzi (brown), and Sylvie (gray). Even more so in the books, where color illustrations apply this to Firo, Isaac, Lua, and Eve as well (not to mention the not yet animated characters).

* ''Franchise/KagerouProject'': Momo has blonde hair and similarly colored orange eyes (or sometimes black eyes, depending on the artist), Kano has light brown hair and eyes, Ene has medium blue-turquoise hair and eyes of the same shade and Hibiya's hair and eyes are the same shade of pale brown.

* ''Manga/MermaidMelodyPichiPichiPitch'':
** Every mermaid when not in human form, except Lucia, who only has this ''when'' in human form. Go figure.
** Averted and zigzagged with the Black Beauty Sisters. She has red hair and blue eyes and Mimi has blue hair and red eyes.

* Most characters from ''Manga/MyBrideIsAMermaid'' have this eyes/hair match. Sun has gold and Luna has pink (but it's opposite for their mermaid tails -- Sun has pink and Luna has yellow). Mawari has a violet combination. Shiranui and Class President have light green eyes and hair. Other characters have more natural combinations of hair and eyes (black or brown).

* The three main characters from ''Manga/PrincessPrincess'': Tohru has blue hair and eyes, Yuujirou has green (gold in the anime), while Mikoto has reddish-brown.

** The spinoffs would largely avert this trope, though they still tend to feature AnimeHair and TechnicolorEyes. The most famous example would probably TheMovie's Nagisa Momoe (white hair, yellow eyes), but there's also [[Manga/PuellaMagiOrikoMagica Oriko (gray hair, green eyes), Yuma (green hair, blue eyes), Kirika (black hair, yellow eyes),]] and [[Manga/PuellaMagiKazumiMagica Kazumi (black hair, red eyes)]]. It's especially odd given the extreme prevalence of the trope in the original, with even [[UsefulNotes/JoanOfArc historical figures]] being given the layout.

* ''Manga/WanderingSon'' characters originally all had brown eyes, but ArtEvolution caused the black-haired characters to be given black eyes. It's presumably stylized dark brown. In the anime, Takatsuki is given gold eyes while Saori has her original brown.

* ''AudioPlay/ExitTunesPresentsACTORS'' has a bunch of these: there's Hinata (orange), Satsuma (blue-gray), Chiguma (green), Takato (blue), Tsukasa (gray), Ushio (purple) and Kagetora (reddish-brown)

* ''Webcomic/HetaliaAxisPowers'' fanfic ''[[https://www.fanfiction.net/s/11886910/1/Gankona-Unnachgiebig-Unità Gankona, Unnachgiebig, Unità]]'': The author makes Italy's eyes brown to match his brown hair and Japan's eyes black to match his black hair, regardless of their canon eye colors.

* Quite a few examples in ''Fanfic/QueensOfMewni'': Urania (brown), Estelaria (purple), Polaria (blue), Febe (red), Etheria (purple), Soupina (pink), Hekatia (pink), Heaven (green), Diana (green), and Sky (blue). Festivia is an unusual example, as she did not originally fit this trope, having purple hair and green eyes, but an accident with grapepper juice getting into her eyes changed them to purple (much to her mother Febe's dismay, as Festivia got her green eyes from her deceased father).

* Ilse Burnley from L.M. Montgomery's ''Emily of New Moon'' has yellow hair and yellow (actually technically very, very light brown -- "almost amber") eyes.

** Isabelle Lightwood has inky black hair and black (very dark brown) eyes.

* ''Franchise/AceAttorney'':
** Due to hardware limitations, everyone whose pupils aren't completely black/a dark dot in the first three games. There are a few exceptions, however.
** Ema Skye, who, throughout the games, both averts and plays straight this trope with her SuddenEyeColor. Her eyes are of a bright blue color in the first game (she has brown hair), but seem to be of a rather brown-ish color in her small profile picture.

** ''VideoGame/DragonQuestV'':
*** Nera Briscoletti has dark blue hair and eyes.
*** Sancho's brown hair matches his brown irises.

** Bartz, TheHero of ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyV'', has both brown hair and brown eyes--unusual, for a series that seems to pride itself on odd hair colors and its love affair with blue eyes.

Its spinoff series, ''VideoGame/RuneFactory'', has a couple as well. The first has Bianca with purple hair and eyes, Tabatha with light blue hair and eyes, and Mei with dark brown hair and eyes. The second has Mana with black hair and eyes. The third has Monica with orange hair and eyes, Pia with pink hair and eyes, Sofia with purple hair and eyes, and Evelyn with fuchsia hair and eyes. The fourth features (possible) protagonist Frey with green hair and eyes, as well as Leon with light blue hair and eyes, Dolce with pink hair and eyes, Xiao Pai with mousy grey hair and eyes, and Bado with blue hair and eyes.

* ''VideoGame/RivieraThePromisedLand'':
** Most of the main characters are subject to this trope -- the only notable exceptions are Rose (black hair/green eyes), Ledah (blond/red eyes), and Malice (blond/blue eyes). And maybe Cierra, whose eyes are reddish-purple.
** From the same series, we also have Maria and Meria, the heroines of ''VideoGame/KnightsInTheNightmare''. Their antagonist counterparts, Marietta and Melissa, are no different.
* In ''VideoGame/{{Roommates}}'', Rakesh has dark grey hair and eyes. Anne's eyes and hair are both brown, but they're different shades, with her eyes being darker and her hair a lighter coppery tone.

*** ''VideoGame/Persona5'' plays this straight with the protagonist (black hair and dark eyes) and Haru (light brown). In Royal, Kasumi (red hair and red eyes) also qualifies.

* ''VisualNovel/TogainuNoChi'': Keisuke and Motomi are both brown-haired and brown-eyed. Both are average-looking Japanese men who don't stand out in a crowd; while Motomi is at least handsome in a scruffy way, Keisuke's blue overalls are considered more memorable than his looks.

** Two rivals also avert it: Amai Odayaka [-(brown hair & green eyes)-] and Asu Rito [-(blonde hair & grey eyes)-].

* ''Webcomic/ButImACatPerson'' has this with several of the Beings: Reseda (gold), Cybele (pink), Kaguya (teal), sometimes Patrick (brown).

* ''WesternAnimation/ReadyJetGo'': Mindy has brown hair and brown eyes.

If a character has freaky, cool, or otherwise unusual hair colors, their eyes are liable to match. "Unusual", of course, needs to be taken with a grain of salt when it comes to AnimeHair. Comic books and western animation are also likely to display this trope.

Some series use this to make a character stand out as being "weird" or "different", especially if it's an uncommon color. Others use this for their entire cast.

* ''Franchise/KagerouProject'': Shintaro, Hiyori and Haruka have black hair and black eyes, Momo has blonde hair and similarly colored orange eyes (or sometimes black eyes, depending on the artist), Kano has light brown hair and eyes, Ene has medium blue-turquoise hair and eyes of the same shade and Hibiya's hair and eyes are the same shade of pale brown.

** Also, the Varia member Fran, with Teal/Green (dependent upon illustration) eyes and hair.

* Every character in ''Manga/RomanticKiller'' sans Riri's human forms have this, including characters that have black or gray hair like Junta or Arisa.

* A great deal of the cast of ''Anime/SailorMoon'' matches this trope. Of the heroes, Chibiusa, Ami, Michiru, Rei, and Hotaru. And in some artbook pictures, all of them do, including Sailor Moon herself. Of the rest of the cast, all of the Witches Five, several of the Anima-Mates, and Princess Kakyuu.
* Some ''Manga/SaintSeiya'' characters do this -- in the manga, [[AnIcePerson Aquarius]] [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold Camus]] has bright red hair and eyes (as well as long red nails), and [[TheHero Pegasus]] [[TooDumbToLive Seiya]] has brown hair and eyes. In the anime, [[TheDragon Wyvern Rhadamanthys]] is a blonde with scary yellow eyes, [[CoolSword Capricorn Shura's]] ensemble is green, as is [[TechnicalPacifist Andromeda]] [[RealMenWearPink Shun's]], and [[MeaningfulName Cancer]] [[AxCrazy Deathmask]] and Phoenix Ikki both have dark blue hair and eyes. [[SomethingAboutARose Pisces Aphrodite]] has bright blue hair, bright blue eyes, [[GorgeousGeorge and bright blue lipstick]].

* ''Anime/SerialExperimentsLain'': Lain has brown hair and brown eyes.
* Hana from ''Manga/SevenSeeds'' is portrayed with golden-brown hair and eyes in most color illustrations.

** Though ''Manga/DeathNote'' is very good about natural eye and hair colors -- all the Japanese characters have brown or black eyes. Misa wears tinted lenses -- her eyes change between brown and blue. Light's hair is [[EvilRedhead probably bleached]].

* Dijiko (green eyes and hair), Puchiko (brown hair and eyes), and Hikaru (pink hair and eyes) from ''Anime/DiGiCharat''.
* Done to an extent in the ''Franchise/{{Digimon}}'' franchise: All the lead characters have brown hair and brown eyes.

** The Harada twins both have brown hair and brown eyes. In the anime, this was interesting because Riku's hair was changed to red instead of brown, but her eye color remained the same, implying that she might have dyed her hair in order to look different from her sister.

* ''Manga/FullmetalAlchemist'':
** Edward Elric has amber-colored eyes that match his blond hair. Alphonse and Hohenheim also share this trait, since this is a trait of all people from [[spoiler:Xerxes]].
** Most characters from Xing (a FantasyCounterpartCulture to China) have black hair and black eyes, most notably [[AnimeChineseGirl Lan Fan and May Chang]]. Amestrian-by-birth Roy Mustang also has black hair and eyes. Combined with his noticeably Asian appearance, this has led to some (unconfirmed) fandom speculation that his family may have roots in Xing.
* Tessa from ''Literature/FullMetalPanic'' has gray hair to match her gray eyes.
* Haré and Weda from ''Anime/HareGuu'' (blue).

* Special mention goes to ''Literature/KyoKaraMaoh'' for making this a plot point. Shibuya Yuuri's looks (including his black/dark brown hair and eyes) are considered average in his native Japan, but when he ends up in a demon country in another world where the combination is extremely rare, he is hailed as a 'soukoku' (double black) and considered highly attractive and regal looking as a result.

** Karin with red hair and red eyes, as well as Jugo, who has orange hair and orange eyes (though [[AdaptationDyeJob his eyes are more reddish in the anime]]).

* All the girls except Doremi (who has red hair and literal pink eyes) and Hazuki (shown as having brown hair and orange eyes) in ''Anime/OjamajoDoremi''.

* Some hazel eyes look fairly reddish, so it is possible to have a red-eyed redhead.
* Amber eyes are a variation of brown eyes for which a yellowish tint is visible. Coupled with blonde hair, it is thus possible to have yellow hair matched with yellow-ish eyes.
* Brown is the most common eye color, and the most common hair color is brown. Thus, the vast majority of people have some variation of brown eyes and brown hair. Of course, both eyes and hair are often so dark brown that they appear to be black, making "black" hair and "black" eyes possibly the most common combination.
* This trope can be played straight with grey-eyed people when they get old.
** Some shades of brown hair appear grey-ish, to which this could also apply.
