** Esmeralda escapes the guards by jumping into the crowd, who carry her off to safety.
** At the end, Quasimodo is hoisted up over the crowd's shoulders in triumph.

* The main character of ''Anime/BocchiTheRock'' panics when asked to say a word to the crowd during a concert and stage dives instead. [[spoiler: She faceplants and passes out.]]

* The mosh pit: at a hardcore punk or thrash metal show, crowd surfers may ride on top of a roiling sea of moshing concertgoers.

Crowd surfing has three major variants:

* Norwegian artist Mira Craig manages to demonstrate [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-0O6kJUZ_mk why Crowd Surfing is often a bad idea]]; instead of the crowd catching her, they move aside in panic, with Craig's mic picking up everything, including the [[ScreamingWoman screaming ladies]] who made the aforementioned dodge]], the SuddenSoundtrackStop conveniently lining up with her hitting the floor, and a man in the audience [[TheHyena absolutely losing it and laughing hard]].

* In ''Manga/MobPsycho100'', The (LOL) Cult members gets Mob on stage at their meeting by carrying him over.

* ''WesternAnimation/SamuraiJack'' had an evil DJ playing MindControlMusic to teenagers in ''Jack and the Rave''. He has them do this to him at one point.
* In the climax of ''WesternAnimation/TheLoudHouse'' episode "For Bros About to Rock", Luna teaches Lincoln and Clyde how to crowd surf to move them from the back of the arena to the front row.
** In the same episode, while Lincoln's sisters tell him how Luna ruined their first concerts, Lola tells of the time she crushed some kids at a Blarney the Dinosaur concert when she tried to surf on them.

* ''Anime/DoraemonGreatAdventureInTheAntarcticKachiKochi'' have the gang meeting a herd of friendly Pao Paos (alien elephants which are just a WaddlingHead on two legs) who expresses their hospitality by lifting the gang with their trunks and passing them from one corner of a courtyard to another.

* ''WesternAnimation/TheHunchbackOfNotreDame'' has two examples:

* An attempt is made at this in an episode of ''Series/BuffyTheVampireSlayer'' but the man, Willow's doctor no less, fails and lands on the floor after jumping off the stage at The Bronze.

* Played for drama in the pilot of ''Series/StarTrekVoyager''. The Kazon-Ogla aren't happy to see Neelix again, so pick him bodily up and carry him to the nearest wall where it's implied they're going to shoot him until he gains the attention of their leader.

* How Mick and Sue reach each other thru a subway crowd at the end of ''Film/CrocodileDundee.''

* In ''Film/SchoolOfRock'', rock star wannabe Dewey Finn attempts to jump off the stage into the crowd, but they move out of the way. He does again at the Battle of the Bands, and that time they catch him.
