* Implied to happen to Manami in ''Manga/{{Life}}''. She starts out as being a bubbly, cute girl who befriends the outcast protagonist, however after her boyfriend dumps her she spirals into a depression and becomes suicidal. She's taken in by a gang of boys who get her into sex, drugs, and alcohol. And next time we see her she's become the antagonist of the manga, being an extremely manipulative BitchInSheepsClothing with a GirlPosse who enjoys abusing people for her own needs.

* In many other {{shojo}} and {{josei}} manga/anime (''especially'' in {{josei}}), the [[TheIngenue virginal]] [[NaiveEverygirl and]] [[TheIngenue sweet]] female lead will be paired up with a handsome yet much more cynical male lead (who can go from merely JerkWithAHeartOfGold to BastardBoyfriend levels). He will tease/mock/insult/etc. her a lot about her innocence, then try drawing her more sensual or adventurous side afloat (sometimes to the extreme). Even more, it's not exactly uncommon to see that the male lead ''used'' to be a cutie, but was [[BreakTheCutie severely broken and abused]] in his past [[UsedToBeASweetKid and is no longer cute]].

** And especially, ''especially'', ''Film/Thirteen2003''. The protagonist starts out as a sweet PuritySue and ends as a drug-addicted, sex-crazed pickpocket. Even darker is that this is based on Nikki Reed's own experiences.

** ''VideoGame/{{Deltarune}}'' is ''worse''; since you are forbidden from personally committing omnicide this time, ''you have to manipulate and corrupt the other party members into becoming the kind of people who would''. In Chapter 1, [[NecessaryEvil you convince Ralsei that violence is sometimes necessary]] by knocking out everyone in your way. In Chapter 2, you have the option of emotionally abusing Noelle and using her as a living freezethrower until she snaps and accidentally murders [[spoiler:Berdly]]. [[EvenEvilHasStandards It gets so bad that even the Chara-expy is disturbed]].

* ComicBook/IllyanaRasputin in ''ComicBook/XMen''. Part of Belasco's goal in bringing her to Limbo was to destroy her soul and turn her into a monster. Ultimately, he succeeded; thanks to her time in Limbo, she has gone from a sweet, innocent child to a ruthlessly insane demon sorceress. Toward the end of ''ComicBook/AvengersVsXMen'', she chided her brother Colossus for giving up so much to save his "little snowflake". Not only was she beyond salvation, she reveled in her insanity. In her own words, "There are no snowflakes in hell!"

[[{{Moe}} They make you adore them, root for them and love them,]] but then they start hanging out with the wrong type of people and make [[ProtagonistJourneyToVillain a slow walk to the dark side]]...

Then the writers proceed to change the character's personality bit by bit, not actually [[BreakTheCutie breaking them]], but affecting their personality, so that they becomes either less likable or more [[FemmeFatale sultry and devious]] than their naturally cute self, or [[TeachHimAnger is taught that being more aggressive will be better than being picked on]].They becomes bolder with their new personality with every act of TheCorrupter until they is not so innocent anymore. This is a common staple in various chick flicks, as what is more tempting than knowing just how awesome it could be to be popular, be powerful, and most importantly, have that LoveInterest you want so bad wrapped around your neck?

* The moral corruption of the cutie: They make dabbles and touches towards becoming a badass. Only problem is, they are doing it in a manner that is seen as intolerable or [[IDidWhatIHadToDo their method has negative consequences for people around them.]] They will go on about how the other person deserves this type of treatment, and eventually they buy into their moral corruption.

* The lifestyle change. It can go either way; either the cutie is a really nice yet party-hard maniac or a lovable {{geek}} / {{nerd}}[=/=][[CoolLoser unpopular person]] and wanted to see the other side of the grass. They get persuaded by their friends into the lifestyle switch or notice how cool it is. At first friends and family don't mind, until they start rubbing it on others, and the new personality is way worse than the original. Essentially they have all the aspects of the new life and nothing of their old life.

* Light Yagami from ''Manga/DeathNote'' starts out as an idealistic, somewhat naive boy in terms of justice. However, once the notebook controls his life, he gradually loses much of his idealism and goodness. He seems to improve during the Yotsuba arc, but again reverts to his villainous status.

* "Maou" and Kyousuke both attempt it on Tsubaki in ''VisualNovel/GSenjouNoMaou''. [[spoiler:They don't exactly succeed, but Tsubaki is hardly innocent by the time the game ends. Kyousuke succeeds in the bad ending to her route.]]

* In Dosteovski's ''Literature/TheIdiot'' Nastasya is a sweet innocent girl who is raised in isolation in the country until she is 16, when she is seduced/raped by Totsky.[[/folder]]

* A lot of the continuing story of ''Webcomic/StickyDillyBuns'' involves the non-malicious and not particularly deliberate "corruption" of TheIngenue and short-tempered Ruby by the rest of the cast. However, Ruby shows that even experienced seductress Zii (guesting from ''Webcomic/MenageA3'' -- see above) [[http://www.stickydillybuns.com/strips-sdb/just_what_i_like_to_hear can only accomplish so much with her,]] and in the end, having become interested in sex mostly on her own terms, [[http://www.stickydillybuns.com/strips-sdb/to_the_next_level Ruby might be said to accidentally “corrupt” the somewhat dimmer cutie Andy]] (though it’s all consensual and good-natured).

* An important part of the plot of ''Literature/DangerousLiaisons'' is the corruption of [[TheIngenue Cecile de Volange]] by {{M|anipulativeBastard}}erteuil and [[TheCasanova Valmont]].

* In ''Franchise/StarWars'', Anakin Skywalker starts off as a WideEyedIdealist little boy whose first thought is how he can endanger his own life just to help a group of strangers get off a planet. As he grows older, however, he becomes more and more ambitious in his desires for power and for love, partially egged on by [[ManipulativeBastard Palpatine]]. As Palpatine plays him against his own Jedi brethren, who in turn play him against Palpatine, he secretly dates Padme and she ends up pregnant. He then starts having visions of her death. The stress of the situation builds and builds until finally...

** "Floyd The Barber" from ''Music/{{Bleach}}'' in which Floyd the barber, Barney Fife, Opie and Aunt Bee from the feel-good sitcom ''Series/TheAndyGriffithShow'' all turn out to be vicious and sadistic rapists and torturers who murder the protagonist in the song while he's sitting in the barber's chair.
** "Negative Creep", also from ''Music/{{Bleach}}'', in which Kurt wails on about presumably a very young girl on drugs: ''Daddy's little girl ain't his girl no more.''

* Mitsuzane Kureshima in ''Series/KamenRiderGaim'' makes for excellent corrupting material that was worked on by several psychopathic corrupters over the course of the series.

* One episode of ''WesternAnimation/HeyArnold'' has Arnold's grandpa Phil, complete the last three years of grade school that he missed out on due to the Great Depression putting him out of school. As he enters the 6th grade, he goes from a [[TheDitz ditzy]] yet amiable and lovable grandpa to a delinquent who, along with fellow 6th graders, tags dumpsters, sneaks into PG-13 movies despite being 81, and becomes a {{Jerkass}}.

* ''WesternAnimation/SouthPark'': Enjoys doing this all the time. UsefulNotes/JesusChrist is sometimes seen fighting and swearing. Ike is heard using F-bombs and vulgar language. Celebrities and fictional characters from other franchises known for their wholesome image will be portrayed as degrading, evil, corrupt, hypocritical or be [[KillTheCutie killed off in gruesome ways]]. Take for instance, WesternAnimation/MickeyMouse in ''The Ring'', who is portrayed as a corrupt capitalistic asshole who beats the Jonas Brothers up to pulp for disobeying him.

* Bubbles from ''WesternAnimation/ThePowerpuffGirls'' does this... twice. Once when she wanted to prove that she was HARDCORE! The other was when a IdentityAmnesia made her think she was Mojo Jojo (and a more effective one at that). And again to a lesser extent when she infiltrates the Rowdyruff Boys by impersonating Boomer (although it seems he's probably more gross and suggestible than evil).
* Jimmy from ''WesternAnimation/EdEddNEddy''. In one episode, Eddy teaches Jimmy just about everything he knows--and while Jimmy does revert back to normal at the end, he retains the knowledge he gained of trickery and whatnot and uses it against the Eds on several occasions. Especially in [[OnceDoneNeverForgotten "If it Smells Like an Ed]].

* An episode of ''WesternAnimation/KaBlam'''s ''Life with Loopy'' featured Larry working out to beat up a bully...and then the once warm-hearted kid we once knew became a huge JerkAss.
* Terra from ''WesternAnimation/TeenTitans''. She's introduced as a character so likeable, [[PlugNPlayFriends it doesn't take the Titans more than an episode to invite her into joining the team.]] However, [[spoiler: she's persuaded by [[MagnificentBastard Slade]] into joining him, so she can gain full control over her powers. She becomes so captivated in trying to do so, while also holding a grudge against the Titans (hammered in by Slade no less) that she goes as far as repeatedly attempting to kill the Titans]]. Because of this, she's possibly the most polarizing character in the series.

* In ''Manga/MahouSenseiNegima'', one starts to get the feeling Evangeline wants to turn Negi into a monster as bad if not worse than she is ([[NobleDemon or thinks she is]]) [[spoiler: by teaching him Black Magic]].

* Comicbook/{{Supergirl}}: Ancient human-turned-demon Buzz lured young, troubled and insecure Linda Danvers into his cult, getting her involved in numerous illicit activities as he intended to use her as an human sacrifice. Later Linda became the next Supergirl and began to fight criminals and demons to redeem herself.

* ''Fanfic/ThousandShinji'': Shinji, Asuka and Rei were good kids, although they were troubled because of the lack of good parental figures. A servant of ''[[TabletopGame/{{Warhammer 40000}} Tzeentch, Chaos God of Manipulation and Trickery]]'' ran into Shinji when he was four and mentored him and converted to Chaos worship. Shinji turned into a manipulative jerkass and several years later he converted Asuka and Rei to Chaos. Although they are more reasonable and not as bad as other minions of the Chaos Gods, they are assholes at best.
* A Collection of Pointless Adventures has Fluttershy as a [[TheAlcoholic raging drunk]].

* [[Characters/MiraculousLadybugMarinetteDupainCheng Marinette]], the everyday Ladybug of the class, is already starting to trek into this territory in the beginning of “Fanfic/JerkInSheepsClothing” thanks to Lila’s lies. Then along comes her [[DistaffCounterpart male counterpart]], Henri [=LeRoi=], with his sights set directly on her. After [[TheCharmer charming her into a romantic relationship with his good looks and false promises of loyalty]], he wears her down even more, poisoning her mind against her friends, convincing her that they do not truly care for her, all while [[WoundedGazelleGambit faking that he’s being bullied by them]]. Sadly, it’s very effective, as Marinette begins icing out her friends and turning on them for “bullying” her boyfriend, believing that they are bad people and Henri is the only true friend she has.

* '' Jailbait'' (2013). Aspiring cellist and bright student Anna Nix is subject to this when she is sent to prison for the accidental murder of her abusive stepfather. Receiving no sympathy from the authorities or inmates, Anna is forced to participate in gang violence and prostitution to survive in the harsh environment. As she slowly gives into despair she begins to have hallucinations of her stepfather and [[spoiler: is eventually DrivenToSuicide, but the film ends on the hopeful note of her performing beautifully for a live audience.]]

** Celebrity/JenniferGarner's character in ''Film/{{Thirteen Going On Thirty}}'' corrupts herself.

* Over the course of the 2007 ''Film/{{St Trinians}}'', Annabelle gradually comes to identify with the various young offenders attending the school, culminating in a makeover scene where she comes out looking sexy. This being ''St Trinian's'', this is portrayed as a positive change.\\
:: Something similar happens with Miss Dickinson, the idealistic new English teacher. When she discovers the extent of cheating at the quiz show, her immediate conclusion is that... Chelsea and the other posh totties are smarter than they think.

* Also the entire point of Creator/StephenKing's ''Literature/AptPupil'', with a side of EvilIsNotAToy. Upstanding high school student Todd Bowden becomes fascinated by the Holocaust and blackmails the local Nazi fugitive, Kurt Dussander, into giving him firsthand details. [[spoiler:Dussander's influence eventually drives Todd into becoming a SerialKiller.]]

* [[spoiler: Morgana]] from ''{{Series/Merlin|2008}}'' is first established as a kind and sometimes heroic character. A combination of fear of her new developing powers (in a society where magic is outlawed) and a series of clashes with the King push her towards the dark side. By season 3 she has spent a year in the company of her evil [[spoiler: half-sister Morgause]] who has corrupted her completely.

* Tyler making Avery break rules in ''Series/{{Dog With A Blog}}''.

* On ''{{Series/Revolution}}'' Charlie Matheson starts out as a bit of an innocent, if somewhat headstrong. By the end of season two, she's an accomplished killer, drinker, and haver of the occasional one-night-stand.

* Would you believe that {{VideoGame/Jak|AndDaxter}}, a young rebel with "[[SuperpoweredEvilSide anger issues]]", a gun, and a willingness to take out anyone who gets in his or his allies' way, was originally an adorable young boy? That's right; two years of being imprisoned and tortured with Dark Eco is enough to drastically warp an innocent teenager into someone who spends the first few days of his freedom seeking revenge.
