** After ''The Dark Night Rises'' completes the planned trilogy, the series will be rebooted ''yet again'', this time to bring it in line with a planned JusticeLeague movie. Nolan might still be attached as producer.

* ''MyLittlePony'' has been rebooted three times: once with ''My Little Pony Tales'', again with the DirectToVideo movies of the 2000s, and once again with the series ''FriendshipIsMagic'' in 2010.

* ''CasshernSins'' is a DarkerAndEdgier reboot of ''Neo-Human Casshern'', featuring a radically different and more cynical interpretation of the eponymous protagonist.

* ''GIJoe: Sigma 6''. Later done with ''GIJoe: Resolute'', as well, not to mention ''[[{{Ptitleer3dxllk}} Rise Of Cobra]]''.

* The 2011 ''MortalKombat'' game mixes this trope with AlternateContinuity according to what we know of the storyline so far: some time after ''Armageddon'', Raiden is about to be killed by Shao Kahn and thus invokes the TimeyWimeyBall by sending a telepathic message to his ''Mortal Kombat 1'' self, warning him of events to come. The game will thus visit altered versions of the first three games as twisted by a Raiden with knowledge he wasn't supposed to have back then.

* ''{{Crysis}} 2'' is described as a sort-of reboot of the series, introducing new aliens and taking place in New York City instead of a tropical Pacific island.

* The 2009 ''{{V}}'' series is a reboot of the two miniseries and regular series from the 1980s.

* ''PoliceCameraAction'', an Optomen {{ITV}} production has seen a reboot as of October 2007, with a new co-presenter, Adrian Simpson, then Gethin Jones presenting a {{very special episode}} on drink-driving (continuity of presenters was not kept for this special).
** ''PoliceCameraAction'' isn't fictional, but based around real-life police incidents caught on video. Still, while this entry misses the point of the trope, it's left in as one wonders what an ''actual'' "continuity reboot" on a real-life factual show would entail. :-)
** Just for the record, the "reboot" is in presentation style and narration - different presenter, footage is all cropped or zoomed-in. Original presenter Alastair Stewart is (usually) left to intros and outros.
** Now rebooted again with Gethin Jones.

** The 2008 reboot utilizes [[spoiler:OlderThanTheyLook]] with Edward Carnby and begins with him having no memories of his past and no name and being in the hands of the BigBad. When you actually reach Central Park where the main game takes place, you reach a ambulance to be treated for a deep cut in your arm due to crashing a taxi while reaching Central park while [[spoiler: Lucifer separates central park from the rest of New York]]. When the medic asks the name and you state the name the BigBad gives you, Edward Carnay, [[spoiler:it turns out that the only medical record of Edward Carnby is from the time the trilogy took place and the last known date he was seen was in 1938]]. Even Edward is shocked at this revelation. This is explained with the fact that [[spoiler:Edward was possessed by Lucifer during a ritual while possessing one of the halves to the key to unleashing him and keeping Edward at the age he was when the ritual occurred. The plot of the current game is to prevent Lucifer from getting out of the entrance to our plane of existence while you try to gain your memories back.]]

* [[WildMassGuessing Fans have speculated]] that ''TheLegendOfZeldaOcarinaOfTime'' was a Continuity Reboot of the first four ''TheLegendOfZelda'' games. The series' [[ContinuitySnarl admittedly confusing chronology]] doesn't help things.

** Supes is going to get another reboot, this time directed by Zach ''[[ThreeHundred 300]]'' Snyder.

* ''{{Smallville}}'' is a reboot of the Superman franchise. It is arguably a continuation of the {{canon}}, although it is debatable what Superman story is actually {{canon}}; comics, movies, TV shows might all claim the designation. It is definitely a reboot if you regard the original Superman movies as canon, for example, although some of the history is intact.

* ''CasinoRoyale'' was intended as an Continuity Reboot of the JamesBond movie series, showing Bond as a 00 agent on his first mission, and giving the movie a much more realistic and serious setting and style than those before it.

* ''{{Bomberman}}: Act Zero'' was intended to be a DarkerAndEdgier reboot of the Bomberman franchise. It [[SoBadItsHorrible failed so spectacularly]], the series returned to normal immediately after and ''Act Zero'' became CanonDiscontinuity.

* Ninja Theory's newly announced ''[=DmC=]: DevilMayCry'' will do this. Combined with the complete redesign of main character Dante and a lack of faith in Ninja Theory, the fandom's reaction to this has ranged from TheyChangedItNowItSucks to RuinedFOREVER. It doesn't help that ''DevilMayCry 4'' only came out less than three years before the Reboot & is one one of Capcom's best selling games ''of all time'' or that on top of this, the original Dante makes an appearance in 2011's ''[[MarvelVsCapcom Marvel Vs. Capcom 3]]''.

* The ''Film/{{Spider-man}}'' film series will be rebooted in 2012, a decade after it started.

* ''Conker's Pocket Tales'' was a forgettable game in every sense. Even those who did know about it (and of Conker's EarlyBirdCameo in ''DiddyKongRacing'') pretend it didn't happen and that ''ConkersBadFurDay'' is where the squirrel started.

* ''MegaTen'' seems to do this a lot, particularly on the third main game in a subseries. ''[[ShinMegamiTenseiNocturne Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne]]'', ''{{Persona 3}}'', and the generally-despised ''Majin Tensei: Ronde'' were all continuity reboots, and there may be more examples. The ''DevilSummoner'' series instead took the route of switching over to prequels.
** Although, said ''DevilSummoner'' prequel implies these might not actually be continuity reboots, and they all exist in one continuous continuity... but the nature of the games makes this virtually impossible, so take it with a grain of salt.

** Well, the game rebooted, but there's still some vestiges of ongoing cannon in the radio, particularly with the "return" of Lazlo (who in reality is the Sound Director).

* ''HeManAndTheMastersOfTheUniverse'' had a 2002 "20th Anniversary" reboot.
* ''GIJoe: Sigma 6''. Later done with ''GIJoe: Resolute'', as well, not to mention ''GIJoeTheRiseOfCrobra''.

* A rare in-company example would be {{WCW}}, which was rebooted from scratch when Eric Bischoff and VinceRusso became the new creative team in April 2000.
