* A variation occurs in ''Film/ResidentEvilRetribution''. After the final showdown, Leon takes off his winter coat and wraps Ada up in it. Justified, since Ada was dressed in nothing but her red {{qipao}} and unconscious in the middle of Antarctica.

* ''Fanfic/BoldoresAndBoomsticks'': After the incident that traumatized her (Almost being killed by a Grimm), Lillie wakes up to find someone tucked her in. It's subverted, unfortunately, since after seeing Lusamine petting a big Grimm Lillie wants to stay far away from her and the thought of Lusamine being in her room makes her uncomfortable.

* ''WesternAnimation/TheBraveLittleToaster'' Oddly enough, the scene involves a character that IS a blanket.

* Played with in the ''WesternAnimation/SouthPark'' episode "Cartman's Incredible Gift" where, after being in a brief coma following him [[WhatAnIdiot jumping off the roof of his house]], Cartman wakes up with what looks like a beard on his face to represent the passage of time. The doctor orders to have his "face warmer" removed which, sure enough, just so happens to be the fake beard on his face. This happens again in the episode when [[spoiler:Kyle]] [[ItMakesSenseInContext does the same thing]].

* In ''Film/TheIncredibleHulk'', Betty puts her jacket on the sleeping Bruce Banner.

This is, of course, a cue for another character (say, Bob) to come along, see the sleeper (say, Alice) and react to it — by tenderly draping a blanket (or, in less providing situations, a coat) over her shoulders, [[AffectionateGestureToTheHead petting her on the head]], and saying, "Sleep tight, Alice." Freed from her discomfort, Alice usually smiles in her sleep, possibly clutching the hem of her new blanket for effect — even in her sleep, she's grateful for the warmth. A variant on this scenario occurs when there's [[ThereIsOnlyOneBed only one blanket]] between the two characters, and Bob must lie down beside Alice and share. This version is perfect for building {{UST}}.

* ''Manga/UruseiYatsura'': In an episode, Lum is trying -- ''trying'' -- to taking care of a bedridden Ran. However her efforts get Ran's house and kitchen wrecked and Ran--who has grown increasingly angry--tells her cleaning her mess and leaving, and goes to bed. Lum, though, stays by Ran's bed and fall asleep on the chair. When Ran wakes up at midnight she notices Lum and covers her with a blanket.

* In one of the comics in ''Webcomic/HetaliaAxisPowers'', Japan draped a blanket over Italy after the later fell asleep.

* In ''Fanfic/SayItThrice,'' Lydia wakes up to find herself covered in Betelgeuse's striped jacket. It's actually the smell of the jacket which wakes her.

* On ''Series/BoyMeetsWorld'', Mr. Turner does this for a then-homeless Shawn when he falls asleep on his couch. It's one of Mr. Turner's first steps towards becoming a substitute father-figure for Shawn.
* Subverted and PlayedForLaughs in ''Series/ElChavoDelOcho''. El Chavo pretends to have fallen asleep on Quico's couch one night, so Quico goes to get him a blanket and a pillow. Meanwhile, El Chavo is trying to snatch a bag of bread Doña Florinda left on the table, and has to rush back to the couch every time Quico comes back.

* At the end of ''Theatre/JourneysEnd'' Stanhope tucks in Raleigh and ruffles his hair after [[spoiler:Raleigh is hit by a shell, paralysed and probably has minutes to live]].

* In ''[[Series/TheBradyBunch A Very Brady Christmas]]'', Jan's husband Richard is asleep at the desk, and she covers him with a blanket. The two have been having marital problems, so when he wakes up and catches her in the act, he's a bit surprised. She points out that she's done it for him many times when he's fallen asleep while working. "Who did you think it was, the Blanket Fairy?"

* ''Series/HawaiiFive-0'', in the episode "Make Me Kai", Steve tucks a blanket over Danny, who has been hit harder by the bioweapon infecting both of them and is almost asleep on the couch.

* In ''Winnie The WesternAnimation/PoohsGrandAdventure'', Rabbit gives half of the torn map he's using as a blanket to Pooh.

* In ''WesternAnimation/PoohsGrandAdventure'', Rabbit puts a blanket over a sleeping Pooh.

* A variation comes at the end of ''Film/WestSideStory'', Baby John covers Maria's head and shoulders with her scarf--one of the first gestures of friendship shown by one of the Jets towards one of the Sharks. Maria isn't sleeping, she's crouched over Tony's body, mourning.

* In the ''Series/{{Heroes}}'' episode "Five Years Gone", the [[FutureBadass badass]] future Hiro is getting some sleep in a bar after hours, and future Peter brings the Ando who time-traveled from the present day a blanket so he can tuck Hiro in.

* ''Series/DawsonsCreek''. There's an instance of Dawson placing a blanket over a sleeping Mr. Brooks, whoever that is, but surely it must have happened with the members of the love triangle as well.

Shuichi doesn't notice, but Yuki stares at him for a while after that, as if it's just sunk in that he's now sharing lodgings with another man he cares more for than he should.

* Played with in the ''WesternAnimation/KimPossible'' fic [[Fanfic/{{Maslow}} "Maslow"]], in a scene where Shego throws a blanket over Drakken (who had fallen asleep while working on one of his [[MadScientist projects]]), then immediately removes it because she couldn't stand him ''knowing'' she'd done it. She goes back and forth several times before giving up and leaving the blanket draped over him.
* A non-sexual one in [[http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2344822/1/SWKOTOR_Destinys_Pawn_Leviathan Destiny's Pawn]] Kairi (Revan) has trouble sleeping and checks in on Mission. While she's adjusting the blanket, Carth catches her. This leads to a conversation about WhatIsThisThingYouCallLove where they both admit that they love the girl "as if she were [their] own."
