* In KingdomHearts, its pretty clear that Saix and Xigbar share TheDragon position to Xemnas. Saix was TheStarscream who [[BecomingTheMask became the mask]], and who handles the day-to-day giving of orders to the rest of the organization and is the final battle before Xemnas, whereas Xigbar ''is the only one who actually knows what's going on'' because he [[spoiler:was the first member to make an alliance with Master Xehanort, Xemnas' true identity]]. May cross partially with DragonWithAnAgenda and/or TheManBehindTheMan depending on how much Xemnas knew and/or remembered.

* In ''TheChroniclesOfThomasCovenant", the three Ravers are always [[BigBad Lord Foul's]] Dragons. Sometimes he'll add another Dragon, too such as [[spoiler: Elena, in ''The Power That Preserves'']] and [[spoiler: Kastenessen in the Last Chronicles, though he probably sees himself as Foul's equal partner]].

** A major BloodKnight, working as one of Aizen's strongest underlings, Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez behaves as TheBrute, tripling as an EvilCounterpart and TheRival to TheHero, but as a DragonWithAnAgenda that desires to be "the king", he isn't as loyal to Aizen - if at all, and judging from his angered expression by the end of the Espada meeting, it seems likely to percieve Grimmjow as a runner-up [[TheStarscream Starscream]] that never had a chance to get a shot at his benefactor.
** As another one of Aizen's most powerful underlings, although more loyal than his colleague above, willingly following Aizen's commands without question and dislaying high respect for him, the [[NietzscheWannabe nihilistic]] and ambiguous Ulquiorra Cifer holds the view that Shinigami and humans alike would never become equal to hollows, subtily bent his instructions at certain points throughout and never showed his unique second released form to Aizen, giving off some EnigmaticMinion vibes.

*** Of the two, Tōsen seemed the most loyal to Aizen, willingly and diligently following any of his orders to the letter, and though far from stupid, he's the most likely one of the duo to get into a fight, as well as personally protecting Aizen from anyone else looking to injure him, pulling double-duty as TheBrute. His motive for joining Aizen was [[spoiler:out of revenge against and loathing for the Soul Society, since it was a KarmaHoudini Shinigami that killed his childhood friend and didn't get punished for it. ]]
*** With his CheshireCatGrin and EyesAlwaysShut, Ichimaru fills the bill as Aizen's EnigmaticMinion - the only one that can see through his manipulations and the one subordinate that Aizen frequently displayed mistrust towards. In actuality, [[spoiler:Gin's goal for joining Aizen was so that he could kill him, finally proving the popular fan-theory that he was TheStarscream correct.]]
** Assigned to the same BigBad, as an EvilOverlord with a dash of DiabolicalMastermind hiding within, Aizen assembled an army of powerful murderers and cannibals, ranked in accordance of strength for power levels, to fight against the law-abiding Soul Society. Most of them were personally recruited by Aizen himself, or willingly joined with him by their own choice; the most notable are Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez and Ulquiorra Cifer.

* In ''TheBelgariad'', Torak's Disciples Zedar, Ctuchik, and Urvon functioned as his Dragons, though Urvon, being a DirtyCoward, was DragonHisFeet.
** In ''TheElenium'' by the same author, Otha (who provides military, political, and magical muscle) and Martel (who provides [[MagnificentBastard brains]] and personal fighting ability) are both Dragons to Azash.

* From {{Kagerou-Nostalgia}}: Rikimaru and Ranmaru are the BigBad's two top enforcers, more or less functioning as villainous HeterosexualLifePartners. They're also his two toughest minions, functioning as bodyguards, and reporting directly to him. General Kiyotaka Kuroda could also be seen as TheDragon as he too reports directly to [[BigBad Gessho]] and takes orders from no one but him.

* BlazBlue has [[spoiler: Terumi Yuuki and Relius Clover.]] Bonus points for the [[RedOniBlueOni Red Oni, Blue Oni]] thing they have going on. [[spoiler: Well, really Green Oni, Purple Oni, but you get the jest of it...]]

* In the earlier SeanConnery [[JamesBond Bond]] movies (except ''{{Goldfinger}}''), the main villains in ''DrNo'', ''FromRussiaWithLove'', and ''{{Thunderball}}'' serve as CoDragons for overall BigBad Blofeld. Interestingly, in ''From Russia With Love'', both [[TheBaroness Rosa Klebb]] and [[TheChessmaster Kronsteen]] carry out the villainous plan with Blofeld's oversight, and are clearly antagonistic with one another. [[EvilGenius Dr. No]] and [[ADisgraceToBlackbeard Emilio Largo run their own respective operations for Blofeld.

* From ''TheSilmarillion'', Morgoth had three Dragons- Sauron, Gothmog, and Glaurung- who each had a different area of expertise and largely operated independantly.

* DavidEddings loves this trope. In TheBelgariad, [[BigBad Torak]] has Ctuchik and Zedar as his chief disciples. In TheMalloreon, [[BigBad Zandramas]] has [[NumberTwo Naradas]] and [[DemonLordsAndArchDevils Demon Lord]] [[DragonWithAnAgenda Mordja]] as her second-in-command and primary defence respectively; her rival, [[AGodAmI Urvon]] has both [[DarkMessiah Mengha]] as his First Disciple and representative, and [[DemonLordsAndArchDevils Demon Lord]] [[DragonInChief Nahaz]] who protects him physically, leads the army, and is more or less in charge. In TheElenium, [[GodOfEvil Azash]] has [[EvilSorceror Otha]], and [[BadAss Martel]]; Otha rules his empire for him, while Martel serves as his main agent in the West, and has shades of DragonInChief.
