Sometimes characters will carry around an accessory. For pirates it's a parrot. Ninjas have swords. But stylish and sophisticated characters often have canes.

Pimps are almost always shown with blinged-out (gold and diamond-encrusted) "pimp canes" in fiction, a standard component of Pimp Duds. Though used by all types of characters, Classy Cane typically falls into the hands of villains.

A subtrope of AManOfWealthAndTaste. The cane might be a SwordCane, SimpleStaff, or MagicStaff. This often overlaps with {{Evil Cripple}}, EvilSorcerer, HandicappedBadass, and CaneFu. Sometimes falls under CarryABigStick or WeaponOfChoice. Often also wielded by the BadassGrandpa.

* ''Franchise/StarWars''
** The Emperor first appears walking down a shuttle ramp holding a cane, not that he really needs it.
** Averted by Yoda, who is one the wisest, purest, and well-known heroes in the saga, although it's justified, considering he's 900 years old.

* In ''Film/ImGonnaGitYouSucka'', when Flyguy gets out of prison he is given his clothes back, which are a very pimped out version of pimpwear including a big fancy cane. Played with in that the real purpose, other than to look [[CatchPhrase cool]], was to [[spoiler: help keep him on his feet as he was dying from poison.]]

[[AC:{{Music}}]]
* Music/RKelly's rap opera series "Trapped In The Closet" has a character named Pimp Lucius, who while dressed as a pimp actually carries a rather nondescript derby cane.

[[AC:{{Religion}}/{{Mythology}}]]
