Added DiffLines:

A cheerful character wears pink to signify their cheerfulness and optimism.

A cheerful character can be a GenkiGirl, a {{Cloudcuckoolander}}, ThePollyanna, The PinkHeroine, a CheerfulChild, a CherryBlossomGirl, a PerkyFemaleMinion or any kind of cheerful character. Bonus points if they have pink hair, making her a RoseHairedSweetie.

This is technically done mostly by women, but it also can be done by guys (often a very perky gay guy).

RuleOfSymbolism can sometimes apply, unless the character consciously chooses pink a lot.

Also, when PrincessesPreferPink, their personalities are more than likely to be sweet and happy.

A SubTrope of PinkMeansFeminine. If it's not AlwaysFemale then it's a SisterTrope to PinkMeansFeminine, rather than a SubTrope.
