* Music/RebaMcEntire: "Why Haven't I Heard From You?" is a song written pretty much entirely in sarcasm, with the singer calling out her lover for not calling by carefully explaining the ''concept'' of telephones and how they work, and wondering why--if there are so many ways to get in touch in the modern age of the 90s--she hasn't heard from him?
-->''Back in 1876 an ol' boy named Bell\\
Invented a contraption that we know so well\\
By the 1950's they were in everybody's home\\
That crazy little thing they call the telephone\\
Now there's one on every corner, in the back of every bar\\
You can get one in your briefcase, on a plane or in your car\\
So tell me why, haven't I, heard from you?''

* Played with in ''Series/Hunter1984''. The episode "Unfinished Business" reveals that Hunter had a one-night stand with his partner Dee Dee, who then had to leave for a six week course at Quantico. Hunter says that he called Dee Dee twice a week but she only wanted to talk business; she in turn wants to know why Hunter didn't raise the subject of what happened between them either. They end up not discussing it for the next ''three years''.
