* Music/GreenDay's ''¡Uno!'', '' ¡Dos!'' and ''¡Tré!'' were a "trilogy" of albums all released within the same year. Rather than re-release the albums as a box set later on, they released a special edition of '¡Uno!'' alongside the regular one, consisting of the album and a cardboard box designed to fit three CD cases. The idea was that fans would buy the other two albums as they came out and complete the boxset.

* The Creator/TwentiethCenturyFox-produced adaptations of six Creator/RodgersAndHammerstein musicals sometimes get packaged together.

** The ''Bring Home the Classics'' collection, a six-tape set that was given away as a "first prize" in a Coca-Cola sweepstakes for the 1988 holiday season. ** The Walt Disney Classics collection, the first line dedicated especially to releasing the Franchise/DisneyAnimatedCanon on VHS and [=LaserDisc=], had its first six tapes -- ''WesternAnimation/{{Pinocchio}}'', ''WesternAnimation/{{Dumbo}}'', ''WesternAnimation/AliceInWonderland'', ''WesternAnimation/SleepingBeauty'', ''WesternAnimation/TheSwordInTheStone'', and ''WesternAnimation/RobinHood1973'' -- packaged together in 1986.

By October 2022, Universal (Classic Media's parent company) and Warner Bros. shared a DVD/Blu-ray distributor, allowing for boxsets of all of the Christmas specials R/B produced prior to going defunct in 1987.

* The ''Creator/{{Columbia}} Classics'' Ultra HD/Blu-ray boxsets each contain six movies that Columbia doesn't usually sell individually on UHD.

** The ''Film/SpiderManTrilogy'' was available as a box set of ''Film/SpiderMan1'' and ''Film/SpiderMan2'', and then with ''Film/SpiderMan3'' as ''Spider-Man Trilogy'' in entirely vanilla versions (DVD or Blu-Ray) or ''Spider-Man Deluxe Trilogy'' with many extras. Another set packaged the vanilla [=DVDs=] together with those for ''Film/TheAmazingSpiderManSeries''.
