Considering after all these years, only 3 Doctors have their debuts in these Collections, they're hardly prioritising Doctors' debuts.

** Classic Series episodes tend to be released as single serials (of anywhere between two and tenThere was one 12-part story, but 9 of those episode are missing, so it's not had an individual release 25-minute episodes each), but some come in box sets of multiple serials. Several "trilogy" boxed sets of consecutive serials are available, as are sets of serials with a common villain (Davros, the Silurians, the Sontarans and the Black Guardian each have one). For many years, the only complete seasons available as box sets were Season 16 (The Key to Time) and Season 23 (The Trial of a Time Lord), because they were the only ones before the revival to have a season-long arc. However, when the classic series began being released on Blu-Ray in TheNewTens it was in the form of season-by-season box sets, prioritizing Doctor debut and/or especially popular seasons.

It turned out the Fifth Dimension boxset used new discs

* Series/1959 had two nine-disc DVD boxsets, each containing a random assortment of episodes. * Animated shows like WesternAnimation/BatmanTheAnimatedSeries are commonly sold as "volumes" rather than "seasons" because the episodes within are presented in production order, not broadcast order.
** Also, an animated series intended to be shown weekday afternoons, will generally have a 65-episode first season, followed by much shorter seasons. Boxing them as seasons would be unwieldy.
*** Some do though. WesternAnimation/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles1987, for instance.

* Music/MikeOldfield released the aptly-named Boxed in 1976, collecting his first three albums plus the exclusive compilation Collaborations. Each disc in the LP release is remixed for the SQ Quadraphonic system, a variant on Quadraphonic sound compatible with both stereo and four-channel surround sound; cassette and CD versions only feature the stereo versions, and ones on the latter format ReCut the set by splitting the tracks on Collaborations across the studio albums as bonus tracks. Hergest Ridge would particularly stand out for the fact that it was extensively remixed to amend issues Oldfield had with the rushed original mix; the stereo version of the 1976 mix would supplant the 1974 one in reissues until the 2010 deluxe edition, which included both the '74 mix and another new stereo mix.

Adding examples and alphabetizing the ones I'd missed the last time around.

* Music/ArtOfNoise released And What Have You Done With My Body, God? in 2006, compiling various outtakes and demos across four [=CDs=]. The fourth additionally contains the band's debut EP, Into Battle With the Art of Noise, which was previously unavailable on the format (six tracks out of nine total were previously included on the 1986 compilation CD Daft).
* To mark the 30th anniversary of the group in 2010, Music/BadReligion released a 15 LP box set featuring all of the full-length albums they had released up to that point. Even the OldShame album Into The Unknown, which the band deliberately kept out of print for 27 years after its initial release, was included.

* Music/GreenDay's ¡Uno!, ¡Dos! and ¡Tré! were a "trilogy" of albums all released within the same year. Rather than re-release the albums as a box set later on, they released a special edition of '¡Uno! alongside the regular one, consisting of the album and a cardboard box designed to fit three CD cases. The idea was that fans would buy the other two albums as they came out and complete the boxset.

* In 2022, Music/TheHumanLeague put out The Virgin Years, a five-LP set containing all of the Mark II lineup's studio albums on Creator/VirginRecords plus the EP Fascination!, each on color-coded vinyl (the two Mark I albums, Reproduction and Music/Travelogue, are omitted). Consequently, the set marks the first time Romantic? was reissued outside of Japan since its original 1990 release, having previously been thrown into CanonDiscontinuity by Virgin on account of its critical and commercial underperformance.

* Music/Metallica had Live Shit: Binge and Purge, which originally had three CDs or cassette tapes recording a series of concerts in Mexico, along with three VHS tapes with one concert in San Diego and another in Seattle. Later editions had three CDs and 2 DVDs.

* After Music/Radiohead acrimoniously parted ways with Creator/ParlophoneRecords and Creator/CapitolRecords during the interim between Music/HailToTheThief and Music/InRainbows, the labels retaliated by putting out an eponymous box set to compete with the special edition of In Rainbows, much to the band's anger. The set contains all six studio albums that Radiohead released while under Parlophone & Capitol, plus the LiveAlbum I Might Be Wrong: Live Recordings.
* Music/REM released The Automatic Box in Germany in 1993 as part of the marketing campaign for the previous year's Music/AutomaticForThePeople. The set contains B-sides from both that album and 1988's Music/Green, plus outtakes from 1991's Music/OutOfTime.
* Music/RyuichiSakamoto released The Complete Güt Box in 2012, compiling the four studio albums he released in Japan under Güt Records, the soundtrack to Little Buddha (originally released in Japan by Güt's parent label, For Life), and various remixes, live performances, and associated rarities.
* Music/Starflyer 59 released Ghosts of the Future as a literal wooden box with ten vinyl singles. All the A-sides were demo versions of songs from their next album, Dial M, and the B-sides were odd experiments like cover songs, instrumentals, or alternate arrangements of the A-side tracks. A few years later, all those songs were collected on the CD compilation Ghosts of the Past along with several of Starflyer's [=EPs=]--but the whole thing fit onto just two [=CDs=] in a standard jewel case. From the viewpoint of just having the music itself, Ghosts of the Past made Ghosts of the Future obsolete. Nevertheless, the Future box set is far more sought-after as a collector's item, thanks to its extravagant packaging and album art--not to mention the fanbase's vinyl fetishism.
* Music/DavidSylvian put out Weatherbox in 1989, a five-CD set containing every one of his studio albums up to that point. The box notably marks the first time buyers outside of Japan got CD releases of Alchemy: An Index of Possibilities and the unabridged version of Gone to Earth; on the flipside, the box uses the LP tracklist for Secrets of the Beehive, dropping the bonus track "Forbidden Colours (Version)". The set was limited to 5000 copies.

* Music/TheCorrs released a 5 CD boxed set of all their studio albums in 2011.

* Music/PinkFloyd has released four different boxsets over the years:
** 1992's Shine On, containing seven of the band's best-regarded albums, plus a collection of their 1960's singles.
** 2003's Oh By the Way, containing all thirteen of their studio albums at the time, packaged in neat CD-sized facsimiles of the original vinyl packaging with a special 40th-anniversary poster by Storm Thorgenson.
** 2011's Pink Floyd: Discovery, the kickstarter of the Why Pink Floyd...? re-release campaign; the boxset once again contained remasters of their full album backlog at the time, packaged in mini-gatefolds (albeit deviating noticeably from the original vinyl packaging, which became a point of contention among some fans), alongside a 60-page artbook by Thorgenson.
** 2016's The Early Years 1965–1972, a greatest hits boxset of their pre-Dark Side of the Moon material.
