* ''{{Bleach}}'' - Mere humans like Orihime and Chad are as nothing next to the {{Shinigami}} Ichigo.
** Orihime is a subversion, she could be as powerful as anyone else ([[spoiler: her powers allow her to deny the existence of undesirable events or objects in 3 ways]]) but her abilities are based off confidence(which she severely lacks for a good part of the anime). Ichigo has enough confidence for the both of them but before his mother died was very similar to Orihime. Also when Chad and Orihime get their respective abilities in the first place it is stated that they were around Ichigo so long that they just absorbed the power leaking from him without realizing it and gained powers of their own.

* ''{{Dragonball}}'' - [[ProudWarriorRaceGuy Sayians]] and their [[HalfHumanHybrid descendants]] eventually overpower ''everything'' (including {{Physical God}}s) by a wide margin.

* ''{{Gundam}}'' - The original UC timeline has Newtypes; the more recent CE timeline has Coordinators.
** There are a lot of Coordinator {{Red Shirt}}s in ''GundamSEED'', so not so much. However, anyone with the [[SuperMode SEED factor]] is pretty much unstoppable. The main character not only has a SEED factor (with full control of it at that), but is later revealed to be [[GattacaBabies "The Ultimate Coordinator"]]. Then in ''GundamSEEDDestiny'' he is revealed to be a Newtype as well. There's a reason why he's called Kira [[FanNickname "Jesus" Yamato]].
*** [[WordOfGod The director]] has said that Kira isn't a Newtype, and that the moments where he got the iconic "Newtype Flash" were merely a ShoutOut. [[ScapegoatCreator Not that anyone]] [[LyingCreator listens to Fukuda anyhow]].
*** Coordinators as a group still hit this trope even though they have {{Mooks}}, really. ZAFT pretty much steamrolls the Earth Alliance before Kira gets involved, and the vast majority of protagonists who actually get anything done are Coordinators.

** Newtypes aren't as much this trope as much as you would be led to believe. It often depends on the character as not all Newtypes are combat oriented and most of the ones we do see rely heavily on superior tech to see them through, but will fold in the face of a more experienced, more skilled combatant, no matter if they are Newtype or Oldtype.
** Subverted with [[AfterWarGundamX Garrod Ran]] don't call yourself a born winner around him, despite being a [[PunyEarthlings Puny Earthling]], he will kick your ass every time.
* ''InuYasha'' - You have to be at least partially demon to be awesome. Even accomplished demon-slayers, like Miroku and Sango, are reduced to uselessness eventually.
** Almost. Kagome still brings the awesome with no trace of demon heritage, but as the reincarnation of a priestess she still fits the trope perfectly.
* ''{{Naruto}}'' - If you don't have a [[InTheBlood bloodline limit]] or a [[CursedWithAwesome demon inside you]], you're mostly screwed.
** Not necessarily, Lots of powerful ninjas don't have neither of these characteristics and still kick ass, Like Gai and The Third Hokage. It would be more accurate to say that anyone that doesn't know how to use their chakra are basically human targets and possible hostages.

* ''TrinityBlood'' - Vampires. And Crusniks even more so.
* ''YuYuHakusho'' - [[{{Obake}} Demons]] are the only ones who can accomplish anything after the TournamentArc. [[spoiler:Yusuke]] is revealed to have [[HalfHumanHybrid demonic heritage]]. In the last three arcs, Kuwabara was [[OnlyMostlyDead killed]] to send Yusuke into an UnstoppableRage, [[DistressedDamsel taken hostage]], and PutOnABus, respectively.

* ''ZettaiKarenChildren'' - Although psychics in general qualify, Level 7 psychics are vastly more powerful than lower level ones, and they alone seem to have enough control over their powers to find new and creative uses for them after sufficient practice. For example, a low level telekinetic might be able to cheat at a crane game in an arcade, but the most skilled Level 7 we've seen is basically a RealityWarper.
* The Gorans from Buzzer Beater[[http://www.itplanning.co.jp/bbimages/body.img/BE1/FBEAT1.HTML]] by Takehiko Inoue. Humans aren't really destined for greatness in intergalactic basketball. [[spoiler: The main character is a Goran but doesn't know it until later.]]

** Channelers period. Channelers are walking nukes in a medieval world.

Once her predecessor died, she got 'lucky' again and became The Slayer. which grants her amazing strength and reflexes. Of course, she didn't get her powers until she was 15. So really it's a PubertySuperpower.

* Too many games to list have you take the role of some sort of super soldier or half-human hybrid that is much more powerful than an ordinary citizen by genetics alone. You might even say that being a player controlled character can make most protagonists born winners - because they're controlled by you, even the baddass normal variety of hero ends up being unimaginably more successful than other theoretically equal humans.
* The Gifted in ''FinalFantasyTacticsA2'', [[spoiler:including Adelle]]. It can actually end up as being BlessedWithSuck, as some don't manage to master their power before it destroys them, and even the ones that survive usually end up outliving their non-Gifted friends.
* Galen Marek/Starkiller from ''StarWars: TheForceUnleashed'' seems to have been born with his incredible power. As a toddler, Darth Vader was able to sense him and commented that he was far more powerful than Kento Marek, and Galen was able to steal Vader's lightsaber with telekinesis. In comparison, the ten-year-old Anakin Skywalker merely had enhanced reflexes.
