*** A character-specific example of this are Negi and his partner Asuna. Negi's father Nagi also had at least two of those among his teammates but considering that they were [[HoYay guys]] this would be more of a BashBrothers example... that we know of.
** As of chapter 252, [[spoiler:Konoka and Setsuna got into a Pactio]], which means they've pretty much become a BattleCouple. Let's see how it develops. Ten episodes later, [[spoiler: Natsumi and Kotaro are in their path to become another BC.]]

[[TheLegendOfZelda Zelda]] normally plays the role of DistressedDamsel, but she and Link become a battle couple for ''The Wind Waker'' and ''Twilight Princess''.

* Sheridan and Deleen in {{Babylon 5}}

*** Bruce and Diana? Might work on paper, but the instant this Troper [[LikeBrotherAndSister factored in that it would make Donna Dick's aunt]], her brain broke.

* The main concept of {{Freezing}}. The girl (the Pandora) is a LightningBruiser ActionGirl while the boy (the limiter) is a BarrierWarrior NonActionGuy.
** More of a DeconstructedTrope, though, since it also shows the psychological and social consequences of ''losing'' said partner in the war zones.

* ''{{Freezing}}'' has this as the main premise with an older female [[BloodKnight Pandora]] and a younger male [[BarrierWarrior supporter]]

* ''{{Bleach}}'' has a lot of potential couples though none have ever been outright acknowledged. The only one that might be official in the Bleach verse is [[MagnificentBastard Urahara]] [[MadScientist Kisuke]] and [[ActionGirl Yoruichi]] [[FlashStep Shihouin]]. Granted, they might not actually be romantic partners but it's pretty clear that they're soulmates of a sort.

** What we ''do'' get to see is [[spoiler: how they come up with an awesome and heartbreaking ThanatosGambit to seal the Kyuubi inside Naruto at the cost of their lives.]] So yeah, Minato and Kushina ''definitely'' count.

* [[FanPreferredCouple Although not official]], Numbuh 1/Numbuh 5 from ''{{Codename Kids Next Door}}''.

* * Amy and Rory grew into a (mostly) non-violent BattleCouple over the course of the 31st season of ''DoctorWho'', with him [[NonActionGuy growing into the "adventure" part]] and her [[RunawayBride growing into the couple part]].

** Mel Brooks' Star Wars parody ''Spaceballs'' has moments of battle couple with Lone Starr and Princess Vespa. Though it takes Vespa's [[BerserkButton hair getting shot]] for her to spring into action.

** Oh, you mean those [[FanNickname Sadistic Lady Mangaka?]]

* KimPossible and Ron Stoppable. Albeit he's more the distraction, but she definitely works better with him than without him.

* Torg and Zoe from ''SluggyFreelance'' have a BattleCouple moment in [[http://beta.sluggy.com/daily.php?date=990725 this]] strip. True, they're not actually a ''couple'', but Torg's crush on Zoe does develop not long after this storyline.

* Seriously? No one has yet mentioned [[XenaWarriorPrincess Xena]] and [[LesYay Gabrielle]]?

* On occasion, [[XenaWarriorPrincess Xena and Ares]] fit this trope
As do Xena and Gabrielle, if you like that sort of thing (*ahem*)

* In the third book of the ''{{Mistborn}}'' series, Elend and Vin go beyond the BodyGuardCrush relationship of the second book and straight into this following [[spoiler: Elend turning into a full-on Mistborn]]. And its awesome.

** Although not romantic couples,( from canon's point of view, because fanon has a whole different opinion) Alucard-Seras and Young Walter-Girlycard can be included here, as well.
* Pictured above: Yuji and Shana of ''ShakuganNoShana'' develop into this over the course of two seasons, as Yuji finds ways to make himself useful in battle.
** The incestuous Aizel siblings also count.

** Rin and Shirou as well, during the Unlimited Blade Works path in the original game. Saber backs them up as often as they go it alone, though, and considering [[BiTheWay Rin's preferences]]...perhaps a rare example of a Battle OT3?

** And, of course, the couple that comprises the 7th qualifies as this as well. That's their gimmick, after all.

* Saya and Haji from BloodPlus have been fighting chiroptera together for decades, though they [[spoiler: don't admit their feelings for one another until the finale]]
