Replacing the previous quote with a quote that is less complain-y and does a better job describing the genre (the previous quote didn't even bother explaining how it was convoluted)

->''"There has to be a more convoluted way, but how?"''
-->-- ''VideoGame/StrongBadsCoolGameForAttractivePeople'', Episode 3: Baddest of the Bands

to:

->''"There has to be ->'''Rincewind:''' Oh, the animation budget's increased at least!
->'''The Librarian:''' Ook ook!?
->'''Rincewind:''' Well of course that's
a more convoluted way, but how?"''
good thing! It means they haven't spent as much on plot, doesn't it? They've probably halved the number of insane object puzzles for a start. Sorry, I mean clever lateral thinking exercises, of course.

''VideoGame/DiscworldII''

The genre has had a decent revival on the Nintendo DS starting with the ports of the ''Franchise/AceAttorney'' series, as its touchscreen allows for an ideal point-and-click interface, and the fanbase includes many older players who favour puzzle and problem-solving games. As well, smaller companies like Creator/DaedalicEntertainment, Creator/Deck13, Future Games, Creator/TheAdventureCompany and Creator/TelltaleGames have done well in specializing in adventure games; indeed, the latter is known for their successful rehashings of external franchises (revitalizing the ''VideoGame/SamAndMaxFreelancePolice'' franchise, beginning a new ''VideoGame/MonkeyIsland'' series, and then having a smash-hit with ''VideoGame/{{The Walking Dead|Telltale}}''), while the former is famed for their ingenious original games. And there is, of course, the whole Independent Adventure Games scene where small-time developers (often one-man teams) are able to keep themselves running by distributing their games to cult-followings.
