* DissonantSerenity: Maria and Sylvie came come across like this, as they are fairly serene for [[spoiler: women who have been tricked into marriage, robbed of their precious gifts and forced to live with (and in Maria's case, serve) their oppressor.]] Maria explains this in a roundabout way when she says out that if she sits and cries about it, she's going to end up with a sore throat and a headache and whatever she's stuck doing will still need to be done, so by this point she just doesn't have the energy for the crying bit.
