The story follows sixteen and a half year old Princess Kalima. Kalima uses the instructions, after a journey that reveals her lost cousin is still alive, along with help from her friends and family to reach the prision world, but entering the world has reduced her magic stores to dangerously low leves and is knocked out. One of the people inside rescues her and brings her to their house. There she starts a romance with Kieran and a friendship with his twin sister, Seraphine. They tell her of their worries that they will never leave the place and Kieran express rage at the ufairness of it as any teenager would. At the end of the month inside of it, Bastet releases them from the world. Freya invites everyone in high command to a dinner to meet her family again. From there, Lady Astrid annouces a festivel to celebrate Freya's return. During the festival, Set is taken over by the goddess, Sekhmet, and Freya attacks him to give the people a chance to escape. They leave the festival to the eternal fields of Punishment where the group bans together to get Set back to normal.

The goddess toys with the group before she goads Aleksandr into a poker game. She leaves after realizing she was tricked into attaching Panthera again. The god's choose their champions and the book then turns to Caterina being reunited with her father and his pack and the champions working out there new abilities.
