* MuggingTheMonster: In episode 8, a gang of bandits hired by Gree Dilly ambushes Sarasa in the forest. She then speaks to them with her lowest voice possible, making her TranquilFury very apparent. Of course, the bandits do not get the hint; so, she made the hostile encounter their last mistake.

* HiddenPurposeTest: Subverted in the first episode. During her practical alchemy exam, Sarasa is tasked with making an intermediate-level potion, but quickly notices that none of the ingredients needed to make one were provided. She is especially quick to note that one in particular, which she almost grabbed, is easy to mistake for an ingredient she actually would need for the potion she needs to make. She then remembers that this same ingredient can be used for a high-level potion, and assumes that this must be the true intention of the exam. After she pulls it off, to the confused amazement of the examiners, it's quickly revealed that the person in charge of preparing her ingredients had made the very mistake she'd mentioned, and that she really was meant to make an intermediate potion after all. Of course, since she far exceeded their expectations despite the mistake on the school's part, they still let her pass.

Berserk Button is for MINOR things - as the example itself makes clear bandits are hardly a "minor" thing; removed a bit of Word Cruft; commented out an example that lacks context; The Woobie is YMMV

Sarasa Ford is a girl who lost her family and home at a very young age. Inspired by an alchemist who visited her orphanage, she studied day and night until she could be a licensed alchemist so she can finally live the good life she was denied. After graduating, her teacher and mentor offered her a house far away from the capital city as a graduation gift. Now she could start her shop there with all the rare ingredients...but the house it's a dilapitated wreck in the middle of nowhere! But this will not stop Sarasa, not even the frightening monsters, the unknown forest, or the tricky customer petitions, she will be the greatest alchemist in the world!

* BerserkButton: For Sarasa, bandits. When a large group ambushed her while she was returning to her home, she pulled no punches at all. If you're a bandit, not even begging for mercy will work. She unleashed a high level spell on the whole group after that and...we don't see the aftermath. To be fair, a group of bandits were responsible for killing her parents, and Lorea's grandparents were also killed by another group of bandits, adding another reason for Sarasa not to spare them.
* BewareOfTheNiceOnes: After two Hellfire Grizzlies cornered Lorea in Sarasa's house, Sarasa snaps and kills both monsters before the two can reach her (the second one tried to flee, but Sarasa was not going to leave it like that).
* DownerBeginning: Oh, boy...first, Sarasa's parents are killed by bandits, then her house is repossessed and/or stolen (it's implied that by the same people who hired the bandits), she gets put in an orphanage, and then she starts studying as soon as she can, without having any friends both in the orphanage and her alchemist school. It's not until she passes the certification exam that the mood improves somehow.
* HiddenBuxom: Lorea, and she's about the same age as Sarasa.

* ShockinglyExpensiveBill: After Sarasa saves Iris' life, she tells to Iris and Kate how much did the treatment cost (which includes reattaching Iris' arm, mind that). One ScreamDiscretionShot later, it cuts to the two girls clearly shocked and in tears about how to pay the massive debt. At the very end of the episode, the total cost on the treatment is displayed ().
* TheWoobie: Sarasa, even after all the crap that happened to her, she still pushes forward with true determination. Even forgetting to make friends so she can keep studying alchemy.
