After passing away at a young age to illness, Ira Takuto [[ReincarnateInAnotherWorld wakes up and finds himself in a forest.]] He is approached by Atou, a girl who bears a striking resemblance to a character in his favourite real-time strategy game “Eternal Nations”. Prior to his death, Takuto had achieved legendary status amongst players of Eternal Nations for clearing the game on the hardest difficulty with the most difficult, Evil-aligned civilization, “Mynoghra, the civilization of Ruin”. Atou, a HeroUnit from this civilization, explains that while she doesn’t know where they are at the moment, she still remembers all the times they spent together in the game world. On her suggestion, the pair decide to start the new country of Mynoghra once more.

* DeathSeeker: The dark elf twins Cearia and Mearia, after being hired as maids to Takuto, deliberately failed at their tasks, hoping that he would get angry and kill them. They do this because during the dark elves’ exile, [[spoiler: their mother [[NoPartyLikeADonnerParty volunteered to be eaten by the rest of the tribe so that the rest of them could survive]]]].
* TheDreaded: Takuto. Prior to meeting him, the dark elf sage Moltar warns the scavenging party of a great evil sealed in the cursed forest, known only as the “King of Ruin.” Subverted when they find out how big of a softie Takuto really is.
* EarlyGameHell: Mynoghra’s starting location is horrifically abysmal. Not only is it in the middle of the cursed forest where nothing grows, but there are also no strategic resources available, and freely available mana is next to zero. If that wasn't bad enough they are also surrounded by two of the largest Good-aligned countries in the game who wouldn't hesitate to destroy them if they were discovered.

* GameBreaker: Takuto has the ability, [[NewLifeInAnotherWorldBonus Emergency Production]], that allows him to spawn items at the cost of mana. While he isn’t able to spawn strategic resources that already exist in the game, he finds out that there are no such restrictions when it comes to things from outside the game. InUniverse, Takuto realizes just [[TechnologyUplift how broken this loophole can be]] when used in the context of Eternal Nations, a [[StandardFantasySetting typical fantasy world]].

** Takuto spent most of his life just dealing with doctors and playing his game. Because of this, he has difficulty holding a normal conversation.

* TwistingTheWords: Because Takuto is unable to communicate with others properly, he usually asks Atou to speak on his behalf. This sometimes backfires on him especially during negotiations where it's shown that [[HairTriggerTemper she isn't quite as even-tempered as he is]]. She goes so far as to straight up lie about achievements that Takuto has supposedly done in order to make him [[TranslationWithAnAgenda look more impressive than he actually is]]. Examples include creating the magical fruit known as "apples", inventing [[GreenThumb magic that makes trees grow faster]], and discovering that the cause of a [[TheBlackDeath plague that had ravaged another country]] was due to germs carried by rats and describing methods to control the spread.

* FantasticFlora: The Flesh Tree, a tree that produces fruit that has the taste and texture of human flesh. It also appears to be alive as it sometimes talks.

* LastChanceToQuit: Atou gives the human scouting party several chances to turn back from the forest. The leader of the group, Verdel, takes the hint is about to leave but his second in command demands that they interrogate her before [[TheMutiny he takes over leadership of the group.]] He [[MuggingTheMonster very quickly]] realizes [[DoNotTauntCthulhu his mistake.]]
