Even when she runs away from home, they don't get the idea that it's because they insulted her and did other things ranging from giving her cruel nicknames like "Monster Lover", threw her book report to the trash and dumped their lunches on it, told her that her ChildhoodFriend Goh will never come to school or ever care about her unless she dressed up as Goh and even pulled a ''Carrie'' and dumped her in red paint after having to cobble up a last-minute performance for the Talent Show. It takes them an EngineeredPublicConfession and Chloe's little brother unleashing the Unown for them to realized that they screwed up their lives for jealousy, never realizing that their actions were going to haunt them.
** On the Infinity Train, there's the Apex: a bunch of kids who are a cult that worships the Conductor/Amelia, following the orders of Grace Monroe, the proud woman who would never admit that she didn't know how the Train worked and convinces them to injure Denizens, kill them and perhaps take their frustrations on anyone else -- denizen or otherwise -- who could get in the way of their fun. It culminates to when [[spoiler:Chloe Cerise dies by Simon -- who just turned into a dark dragon -- they don't ''care'' that she died, except that she ruined their fun. Like Class 5-E, they are knocked off their haughty pedestals when they learn that many denizens they killed were presumably former passengers like themselves, one of their own ''drowned'' and became a monster known as the Phantom, and that time on the train is equivalent to time in real life, meaning that the years they spent on the Train is equal to the years that they were ''gone'' from their family and friends.]]
