** The sentient train The Beast has this attitude, thanks to it being essentially a super-powered child whom it is nearly impossible to effectively discipline. It mostly [[DefeatMeansFriendship mellows out]] after being soundly beaten and [[BoxedCrook vastly downsized]], no longer being much of a threat to anyone and slowly [[MyMasterRightOrWrong developing loyalty to Agatha]] (and even [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking becoming friends with the Castle]]).

* ''Webcomic/DICETheCubeThatChangesEverything'': Many Dicers suffer from overflowing ego, LackOfEmpathy or lack of teamwork, and just can't think a few steps ahead. When it comes to a pitch, they're not above asking good Dongtae to help them even after antagonizing him soon earlier.

Poisonous Friend is no longer a trope

** This is the one flaw in Tarquin's extreme GenreSavvy. He's brilliant about using tropes and the TheoryOfNarrativeCausality to his advantage... except that he's dead certain that ''he'', personally, has to be the centerpiece of whatever story is taking place around him. So when his long lost son is accidentally reunited with Tarquin while being part of a plot that involves the machinations of multiple gods and their high minions, devils and demons determined to team up to storm the heavens, and the possible unleashing of a world destroying EldritchAbomination, Tarquin's take on all this is that obviously the story is meant to be all about him and his son having a [[Franchise/StarWars Luke Skywalker vs Darth Vader]] style showdown, and makes himself an antagonist to the group trying to stop the possible end of the world solely on that basis, and attempts to severely compromise their ability to save the world, all because he can't accept the story not being about him. Julio Scoundrel even tells him point-blank that Tarquin always thinking that everything is about him is one of his greatest flaws. To highlight this, Julio doesn't think much of Tarquin and sees him as just another one of his B-villains. In addition to his conviction that he's the BigBad, he has trouble understanding others' viewpoints, [[PoisonousFriend killing people to show he cares for his heroic son]], and then being surprised that said son takes it badly.

* In ''Webcomic/ElGoonishShive'', Justin has fallen into this in the past. Elliot gets transformed into a girl? Justin is offended because he isn't attracted to female Elliot. Elliot and Sarah have a romantic moment? Justin has to interrupt it because he's jealous. Elliot compliments him on his AttractiveBentGender? Justin goes into a bout of angst because Elliot just won't find him attractive when he's a guy. Should be noted that he gets over a lot of this when he grows out of his crush on Elliot.
