* Creator/FrankMiller may be famed for his work in comics (despite his output from the 2000s onwards being of debatable quality), but few, if any, would defend 2008's Film/TheSpirit, his adaptation of Creator/WillEisner's famed comic book series. Miller was allegedly friends with Eisner and, after his passing, decided to do the movie to honor him, vowing "nobody else can do this", hence his seemly-odd choice of project Spurred on by the success of the 2005 Creator/RobertRodriguez adaptation of ComicBook/SinCity, Miller used his honorary co-director credits on that to launch his own solo directorial career in Hollywood with this movie -- with disastrous results. The green-screen technology used for Sin City is abused in a way that makes the world feel shockingly empty despite several effects companies involved. The tone ranges wildly from Miller's trademark noire-esque deadly seriousness to goofy slapstick with no consistency (the first fight between the title character and his arch-nemesis, the Octopus, has them smacking each other around with sinks and toilets in a bog while exchanging gritty banter afterwards). The plot is bare-bones despite being 103 minutes long and boils down to a 3-way tug-of-war between the Spirit, his rival/lover Sand Saref, and the Octopus over a vague McGuffin called "the Blood of Heracles", which the Octopus wants to use to turn himself into a god. The characters get it no better. Creator/EvaMendes' Sand Saref is reduced from the cunning rocket scientist/engineer foil from the comics to a slutty ComicBook/Catwoman knock-off, the Spirit himself is constantly lusted after by every female character in the movie to ever interact with him, no matter how minor, including Death herself, all for no given reason, and Creator/ScarlettJohansson is wasted in a woodenly-acted role as the Octopus' henchwoman. Worst of all, poor Creator/SamuelLJackson, while trying to ham it to high heaven as the Octopus, who was TheUnseen in the source material, gets it the worst as he is constantly wearing a different outfit in ever scene he's in for no reason (including a Nazi uniform at one point), and has a god-awful RunningGag where's he's making egg puns or comments related to eggs no matter how forced or random it is. That's not even including the Retcon to the Spirit's backstory where his resurrection was the result of an experiment the Octopus performed on both of them, giving them a HealingFactor. The movie was savaged by critics and movie goes alike, bombed horribly at the box office, and aside from co-directing the Sin City sequel, served as a CreatorKiller for Frank Miller's tenure in Hollywood. * Creator/FrankMiller may be famed for his work in comics (despite his output from the 2000s onwards being of debatable quality), but few, if any, would defend 2008's Film/TheSpirit, his adaptation of Creator/WillEisner's famed comic book series. Miller was allegedly friends with Eisner and, after his passing, decided to do the movie to honor him, vowing "nobody else can do this", hence his seemly-odd choice of project Spurred on by the success of the 2005 Creator/RobertRodriguez adaptation of ComicBook/SinCity, Miller used his honorary co-director credits on that to launch his own solo directorial career in Hollywood with this movie.....with disastrous results. Creator/EvaMendes' Sand Saref is reduced from the cunning rocket scientist/engineer foil from the comics to a slutty Catwoman knock-off, the Spirit himself is constantly lusted after by every female character in the movie to ever interact with him, no matter how minor, including Death herself, all for no given reason, and Creator/ScarlettJohansson is wasted in a woodenly-acted role as The Octopus' henchwoman. The plot is bare-bones despite being 103 minutes long and boils down to a 3-way tug-of-war over the Golden Fleece and a vague McGuffin called "the Blood of Hercules", the later of which The Octopus wants to make himself immortal. The characters get it no better. Creator/EvaMendes' Sand Saref is reduced from the cunning rocket scientist/engineer foil from the comics to a slutty Catwoman knock-off, the Sprit himself is constantly lusted after by every female in the movie to ever interact with him, no matter, how minor, including Death herself, all for no given reason, and Creator/ScarletJohannson is wasted in a woodenly-acted role as The Octopus' henchwoman. That's not even including the Retcons to the Spirit's backstory where his resurrection was the result of an experiment The Octopus performed on him. The movie was savaged by critics and movie goes alike, bombed horribly at the box office, and aside from co-directing the Sin City sequel, served as a CreatorKiller for Frank Miller's tenure in Hollywood. Added example(s) Double Toasted on Simon Sez

* Film/SimonSez is a 1999 action buddy comedy that revolves around an Interpol agent named Simon (Creator/DennisRodman), who teams up with another agent, Nick (Creator/DaneCook) in order to save a kidnapped girl (who was later revealed to be just hanging out with her boyfriend) and defeat an arms dealer. To start things off, Dane Cook is absolutely atrocious in this film, since all he does is act like an annoying prick, and say cringeworthy dialogue (in one case, a horrible voice impression of Chewbacca). Because of this, it was heavily trashed by critics, gained a 0% on Rotten Tomatoes, and is a contender for the IMDB Bottom 100 with its 2.6 rating, and it bombed at the box office, grossing only $292,152 out of its 10 million dollar budget. * Turn It Up, a 2000 attempt to make rappers Pras and Ja Rule movie stars, which obtained an 8% on Rotten Tomatoes and an 18 on Metacritic. The film is an obvious attempt to ape the cult success of Belly but while that film covered up its shortcomings with an unmistakable style that wowed its fans, this film is simply boring and has awful acting and production values to boot. Not even Creator/JasonStatham can make it watchable, and Creator/NewLineCinema essentially gave it the Invisible Advertising treatment, as it grossed only $1.2 million on a $9 million budget. Further rubbing salt in the wound is that this was the last movie to ever be screened at the legendary Indian Hills Theatre before it was demolished following Carmike's bankruptcy.

Heads up; Double Toasted released their video on "Who's Your Caddy?". Also, I've updated Witless Protection with a link to the page.

* Despite (or perhaps because of) an AllStarCast with Big Boi, Music/LilWayne, Creator/TerryCrews, and Andy Milonakis, Who's Your Caddy?, which is a poor rip-off of Film/Caddyshack, gave in to the worst stereotypes of African-American culture. For example, there's a scene in which the main character's mother cooks up some fried chicken. Creator/JeffreyJones plays the villain despite being a registered sex offender since 2002, with his performance limited to playing what is essentially an older version of his Ed Rooney character from Film/FerrisBuellersDayOff, a much better film than this. There's also loads of ToiletHumor and bad direction. The worst aspect of this film is the acting, where everybody delivers a shockingly awful performance, as in "we're starring in this film just for our paychecks" performance, with Faizon Love being the worst offender. It has a 6% on Rotten Tomatoes and a 1.8 rating at Website/IMDb. What box office it did draw was bolstered by people thinking it was a film adaptation of the book of the same name by sportswriter Rick Riley. Allison, Phelan, and Mathew air their thoughts on how awful Caddy truly is, with the exception of Creator/JamesAvery, (who had the only funny line in this entire "comedy")In case you are wondering what exactly that line is, it's "What are you? Two pussies having a pity party?".

Larry's a small-town sheriff who unwittingly abducts a witness under protection by FBI agents... who it turns out are actually in the employ of a big-city gangster and are out to silence her. On top of a plot that plays every cliché straight, the film features Larry at his least likeable, a load of unfunny jokes, and a plethora of outright insulting moments, with little to redeem it in the slightest. To top it off, Larry makes a lot of racist remarks, as Creator/LeonardMaltin noted in his reviews. (This also marks Creator/JennyMcCarthy's second appearance on this page; although she didn't write it unlike Dirty Love and only plays Larry's girlfriend.) Unlike the films that preceded it, it made only around half of its budget and was more or less the StarDerailingRole for Whitney as a live-action leading film actor. Also, it was Creator/YaphetKotto's last film.

* The Understatement unbelievably horrifying SWAP.avi. Because even works that have been removed from Website/ThisVeryWiki for violating Administrivia/TheContentPolicy have anything remotely resembling a decency standard, we're prohibited from describing much of this. It all started on Website/SomethingAwful when one of the goons requested that this video be made. The end result horrified even him. SWAP.avi is basically 2 Girls 1 Cup turned up to twenty (rather fitting, as they were produced by the same people) — the real name for the accursed thing is Scat Swapping School Swallow. It stars four women who appear to have been strongly coerced, and it lasts for sixty very long, very painful minutes. Vomit is involved, as is more shit than is humanly possible. Saying that it starts at disgusting and only gets worse from there Understatement is a galaxy-sized understatement, as it's possibly the most degrading excuse for pornography that has ever been conceived by a human mind. Zack Parsons of Something Awful rated each of its individual aspects -INFINITY (negative infinity), for an overall rating of -INFINITY/50, and urges that one never even think about looking for this film.
