** Partially lampshaded when you speak with Mordin constantly in Mass Effect 2 and if you're not romancing anyone. ** There's also the relationship between [[MadMathematician Hibiki]] and [[GeniusDitz Ryo]], childhood friends who do seem really close; nurse Suzu even fantasizes about their relationship (although she does the same with female school nurse Honoka and practically adopted son/younger brother Hibiki: 'A forbidden teacher x student romance!').

*** [[RavenGrave I]] point you toward the events for Rank 9 of the Magician Arcana, where [[spoiler:Yosuke talks about all the people who are important to him, and ''ends'' with the MC, ''after'' he mentions friends. Yosuke wants the MC to nail him like a 2 x 4, as far as I'm concerned. There's also the Rank 10 event, which somehow managed to make the whole 'and now, we fight like men!' thing just seem waaaaaay too gay. [[DepravedBisexual And I support every minute of it]].]]

*** To be fair, Latooni has a similarly blindingly obvious crush on Shine, to the point that this troper didn't know she was also supposed to have a crush on Ryusei until someone told her, and didn't actually notice any real sign of it until she played OG2, and ''even then'' had to actively be looking for it.

* The ''KingdomHearts'' series, especially the second game (In particular, watch when Sora gets on his knees for Riku. Note that he doesn't cry when he finds Kairi again, but when he finds Riku, he ''breaks''.), is full with Ho Yay undertones between Sora and Riku. But some people may explain why he doesn't go so crazy over Kairi... consider that in the first game, last time he saw Riku, he was either controlled by darkness, really a fake, or sealed behind the door to darkness. Last time Sora saw Kairi? She was safe, hanging out in a nice warm heartless-free waterway, and finally was seen as going home... so obviously he ''knows'' she's at least safe. (Even though, This troper admits, it could have been written better.) But even they pale in comparison to Axel and Roxas' subtext-that-might-as-well-be-text in ''Kingdom Hearts II'' and ''358/2 Days'' (very chiefly on Axel's part in both cases, as Roxas is shown to be too naive to fully grasp the idea of love). Then of course there's the hintings of Axel having some kind of deep relationship with [[spoiler:Saix before they both become Nobodies.]]

** "Isn't this ROMANTIC?"
*** This troper would like to note that Seifer's line there was a reference to his ''FinalFantasy 8'' self, where he frequently used the word "romantic" in the other sense to describe his status as Edea's knight.
** The 358/2 thing is debatable, between Roxas and Axel. In that game Axel appeared to be ''raising'' Roxas, teaching him about the ways of the world, making it appear more to be fraternal affection and BigBrotherInstinct; probably a RetCon on the part of the writers as a reaction to how much people had latched onto the (unintentional?) HoYay.
*** Though that just makes the pairing all the more endearing to some.
** Really? Oh come on. The [[HoYay Ho Yay]] between Axel and Roxas is absolutely undeniable. Axel will do anything to save Roxas in KH2, even going against the Organization and [[spoiler:performing a suicide attack to save him.]]

When they say goodbye for the last time, Axel addresses Roxas by the Japanese word for partner, and a single tear falls--presumably Axel's.

** Don't forget the line the Spy gives when he [[FoeYay dominates an enemy Spy:]] "See you in hell, you hansome rogue."
*** Admittedly, all Spies look exactly alike, so this may be more of a case of [[ScrewYourself Self Yay.]]
* While Rios and Salem of ''ArmyOfTwo'' are undoubtedly the poster-boys for HoYay, and MissionControl probably sees them like this given the way she doesn't buy into their machismo, it seems like the [[TransparentCloset devs were going for]] more of a [[strike:juvenile]] frat-boy attitude to complement the game's constant hammering home that the ''military'' is no fun, and out of its league to boot, while ''private contractors'' are gods in mortal form. This troper believes that given the setting, they become deeper, more interesting characters if [[WhatDoYouMeanItsNotSymbolic looked at]] as an actual gay couple.

** ThisTroper is convinced that that was meant as a ShoutOut or some such to the Shinji/Kaworu situation in ''NeonGenesisEvangelion''. The parallels between the two are striking.

** In-game mails suggest that Endrance's player is pansexual. [[spoiler:He was similarly dependant on Mia back when he was Elk, and his affections as Endrance transferred to Haseo after the cat on his shoulder (referred to as Mia) turned out to be AIDA and was destroyed.]] Of course, this sound reasoning still doesn't prevent this particular troper from finding Endrance's version of the [[spoiler:post-ending wedding event]] to be both hilarious and amazingly creepy. [[spoiler:Does he ''really'' need to wear a dress?]]
** Is this troper the only one who finds Ovan's apparent obsession with Haseo to be more than a little creepy?
** The same can be said about [[ShotaCon Bo's]] great admiration for Haseo (and Haseo's strange kindness towards Bo, seeing how Haseo was a Jackass to everybody when he met Bo).
*** Of course, Bo is [[CuteShotaroBoy adorable.]] It is impossible to be mean to him, unless your his sister, who's [[JerkAss even worse]] than Haseo was.

* Hitomi and Lei Fang from the ''DeadOrAlive'' games (more specifically the ''Xtreme'' spinoffs) appear to be ''very'' fond of one another.
** Since the series is practically a big playable {{Fanservice}}... that's not so surprising.
*** In fact, although they're some of the biggest examples, it's downright notorious for this among GirlsLove circles, and it's probably easier to find a pair of females you ''can't'' read this into.

*** It's an older phenomenon than that in the 'Vanias; Hugh and Nathan of ''Circle of the Moon'' are rivalslash-tastic - fellow tropers, when your happily married straight male friend announces that Hugh has it bad for Nathan and the subtext is far too large for the Gameboy screen to contain, you know you are not simply seeing things. Dracula is rather - something at Morris Baldwin, too.

** Since we're talking about Castlevania, let's not forget the always-together antagonists. Death is Dracula's confidant ''indeed...''
*** This troper always found Death's description in the enemies' guides throughout the games quite... bizarre. "Dracula's ''intimate'' friend"? "Knows ''many dark secrets'' "? Okaaaay...
**** Thinking about it, given that Dracula's already known as practically the master of evil, it's difficult to imagine any secrets he has being darker than what he's already known for, which does lead one to wonder if these secrets are of a rather different nature...
*** In ''Portrait of Ruin'', Death appears out of nowhere to block Jonathan's attack on the newly-risen Dracula, and the two fight you together. When you [=KO=] one, Death gives Dracula his power and Dracula uses ''Power of Dominance'' to "merge" Death's soul to his and become True Dracula. Soulmates... ? Plus, there are his quotes in ''Judgment'': After defeating himself in a MirrorMatch, Death opinions that "One advisor is all the Master requires."
*** Also in ''Judgment'', his ending sequence: "Death, unconstrained by mortality, pursued every possible means of reviving his master. Why would such a being serve Dracula so loyally? Perhaps there is some ''[[ThePowerOfLove greater force at play behind it all]]''..."
*** In the same game, Carmilla is referred to as "Dracula's plaything" by Alucard, and one of her victory lines implies that only Dracula can satisfy her. (Poor Laura.) And yet she remains jealous of how Death is "always at Dracula's side".

*** Let's not forget that the last thing Samus sees of her is [[spoiler:her own power suit begging for mercy. That's harsh.]]

* It might seem odd to mention ''TheSims 2'', a game best known for its EveryoneIsBi mechanics. However, the stories of the pre-packaged characters are uniformly straight, except for Strangetown's Pascal Curious and Nervous Subject. True, the game opens on them as friends, but Nervous is coded to walk by the Curious household just as Pascal [[MisterSeahorse goes into labor]] with his [[FaceFullOfAlienWingWong alien baby]]. This troper's friend referred to them as being "pre-queered for your convenience." Well, ''almost''.

* In ''ManaKhemiaAlchemistsOfAlRevis'' the main character Vayne Aurelius and Roxis Rosenkrantz have a good deal of FoeYay going on throughout the game. I mean, even Roxis's ending is HoYay-tastic, with [[spoiler:Vayne and Roxis becoming sparring partners (ahem), and the loser then subjected to the winner's experiments.]]. All sounds rather kinky to this troper.
** What, FoeYay? It seemed to this troper that it was flat out HoYay around/after the third character quest. Not to mention the infamous Magic Stone Collar event...

*** Not to mention Chapter 3 of Pepperoni's character quest. He practically screams in ecstasy when he oil wrestled Gato.
*** There's also Chapter 4 of Gato's character quest where he had to pretend to be attracted to Pepperoni and Enna to break up with Marta. Enna was constantly disgusted by the whole ordeal, Pepperoni on the other hand enjoying everything.

** This troper is surprised no one has mentioned Tira's Critical Finisher in the game itself. It's a [[KissOfDeath death kiss]]. Which can be performed. On anyone. [[LesYay Even women.]]

** Is this troper the only one who sees tones of LesYay in some of the dialogue involving Maylene & Candice if they visit your Villa together in ''Platinum''? Or the fact that they're together? The same might possibly be said for [[HoYay Flint & Volkner]], [[YuriFanboy but that's not important]].
*** Many more than one YaoiFangirl would disagree.

* ''MassEffect''. Sure, there's the canonical stuff (if you want to pursue it) between femme Shepard and Liara, but this troper prefers male Shepard/Kaidan. There are some lines to support it as well ("When it's just you and me, Alenko, consider it off the record..."), especially if you choose [[spoiler:to save Kaidan over Ashley.]]

*** This troper would like to believe that Excella is a hilarious example of Capcom thumbing their nose at Wesker's legions of fangirls. Go ahead, drape yourself all over him - he's going to ignore you in favor of science and trying to kill Chris, until he [[spoiler:notices you long enough to betray you, kill you, and turn you into a giant tentacle monster. To kill Chris.]]

** It may just be me, but while Claire/Sherry is such a sweet little adopted mother/daughter dynamic now, [[WifeHusbandry give Sherry a couple more years of]] BreakTheCutie...[[HurtComfortFic Claire's the only one there for her.]]

* ''FatalFrame'' has a rather LesYay-rific relatonship between Rei and Miku. Both women clearly care deeply for one another. And often in VERY sexy lingerie in many of their scenes together. The fact that Rei's still [[ReplacementGoldfish mourning her husband]] [[YourMileageMayVary might or might not]] add to this. ThisTroper and his friend were convinced there was romantic subtext, although [[YuriFanboy there might be another explanation]]...

Note that the conversation is the exact same for ''both'' genders of Shepards, but this troper got some ''big'' Ho Yay vibes from that convo while playing as a Male Shepard.

** She's not limited to groping Litchi's breasts, either. In ''Continuum Shift'' Tsubaki becomes a victim of Tao's ravenous lust for boobies. Noel would be as well, if she weren't [[Pettanko flat-chested]], something Taokaka has to make a point of mentioning every time she sees her.
