* In the eighties, the novelty song "Star Trekkin'" was a hit, and its single came with a B-side that used Star Trekkin's basic layout and lyrics to make a very vicious parody and mockery of the Music/BeastieBoys. As time went on, the Beastie Boys began dropping more and more Star Trek references, and eventually got featured in the 2009 and 2013 films.

* The song "Twin Rocks, Oregon" by Shawn Mullins has a line that goes: I don't reckon I'll be makin' it big/You know, it's hard to get rich off a tout of coffee house gigs/ And he said "Yeah, but ain't it a blessin' to do what you wanna do. "Twin Rocks, Oregon" just so happened to be on the same 1998 album as Mullins' other hit "Lullaby", the song that very well made him a buttload of money. So, in other words, Mullins found himself making money doing what he wanted to do.

Suddenly, in 2000, he moved his career to Spain, and has been trying to distance from his past and the controversial political situation of his home country since then.
