* Despite the game being a send-up of murder mysteries and mystery Visual Novels, there's one classic trope that's notably absent: no-one, not even the "murderer", ever tries to [[FrameUp frame another person for the crime.]] All {{Red Herring}}s are due to misunderstandings or NotWhatItLooksLike. Even during the final confrontation, the "murderer" only focuses on denying their actions, rather than trying to pin them on someone else. * The premise of the game is that it's Amy's birthday. And everyone goes out of their way to make sure it's a good day for her as much as possible within reason. Knuckles managed to stay in character until she left though it was clearly uncomfortable for him. Espio wrote really bad poetry, and Vector tried to bring a knife just to sell the act, both breaking character only to give her their present. Blaze came from a separate dimension just to attend. Shadow tried really hard to get her a surprise present though it made him look suspicious and she accused him of being the murderer. And Sonic clearly had to pull some serious favors to get that birthday cake since he'd forgotten his wallet. It's adorable to see them go all out for her. This is especially heartwarming when, for a while, she was one of the most contentious characters in the franchise, some believing that she was poorly written and annoying at her worst. It's nice to see Amy get the respect she deserves.

Despite that, Sonic gives the player character a RousingSpeech, insisting that whatever happened wasn't their fault. The upbeat remix of his theme, "It Doesn't Matter" from ''Sonic Adventure 2'', adds to the moment.

* Why was Shadow locking the doors? He realized that he forgot to get Amy a gift, and so he was trying to get tickets for a concert for a band she loves. Granted, he accidentally printed the home page in process and the tickets wouldn't be available until later in the day, but the thought still counts. Amy is evidently very touched, even inviting him to join her.
