** A bit of Fridge Heartwarming in that same scene is that unlike Mayer Phlegming, who outright hijacks Frank into taking a cold pill earlier in the movie, Leah doesn't actually ''make'' Frank do it, she ''persuades'' him to. Despite her concern being Shane, Leah is enough of a NiceGirl to consider Frank's own thoughts and talks him into something like an equal rather than just force him to do what she wants.

** Both of the nurses are empathetic to Shane over nearly losing her father. One of them even gives her a hug after Frank wakes up to say the above line.

* Also at the ending, where Frank is hiking with Shane and eating carrot sticks. He's out of breath, he's tired, he's not feeling well, and he needs a break before they can go back down... but [[CharacterDevelopment he's clearly learned from his experiences and is making an effort to be healthier for her sake]]. His last line just says it all.
