* Even while lamenting how horrible her classmates became during Beautiful, Veronica expresses sincere faith and hope that all of them can be good again one day, specifically adding that if they could change once, they can again. This foreshadows the world half full view she developed.
* Veronica and Martha's friendship at the start, before Veronica decides to be part of the Heathers. After Kurt knocks Martha's tray, Veronica demands he pick it up and insults him. Especially since less than a minute ago, she was easily intimidated by Ram Sweeney when he accosted her for insulting him.
* While Heather Chandler berates Heather Duke for being bulimic, Heather [=McNamara=] sincerely says Heather Duke should go see a doctor in a worried tone when asked for a breath mint.
* The Heathers giving Veronica a makeover and inducting her into their group.
* "I can't promise no more Heathers, high school may not ever end. Still, I miss you. I'd be honored, if you'd let me be your friend..."
* Martha and Veronica bonding at "Seventeen (Reprise)" during the lyric "If no one loves me now, someday somebody will."
** The next line, "We can be seventeen, still time to make things right," brings Heather [=McNamara=] into the warmth as Veronica reaches out to her. She takes Veronica's hand, and joins Martha and Veronica in the lead singing. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYDw_bxop18&list=PL98iariq2kCQ-zjvH8g6cVnxnqRg1XRn0&index=10 This animated cinematic]] tells it all, culminating with the three girls leading the rest of the group with:
---> We'll make it beautiful! We'll make it beautiful!
---> Beautiful! Beautiful! Beautiful! Beautiful!
---> Beautiful! Beautiful! Beautiful! Beautiful!
---> Beauti-FUL!!
*** Heather Duke's HeelFaceTurn, being welcomed into the group as well.
* Veronica rescuing Martha from being humiliated at Ram's party by the Heathers.
* This exchange, at the climax:
-->'''Veronica:''' I don't deserve to live.
-->'''J.D.:''' I... ''respectfully''... disagree.
** Some productions also have J.D. admit his FatalFlaw "I destroy things, [[ItRunsInTheFamily just like my dad!]] It never occurred to me to try BUILDING anything!" to Veronica. "But you're different. Go do something with your life," he adds, taking the bomb from her. Which then leads into "I Am Damaged," which is mostly heartbreaking, but we do have this line: "I am damaged. Far too damaged. But you're not beyond repair."
* Veronica's mother walking into her room at the very end of ''Meant To Be Yours'', kindly offering her a snack. She loves her daughter so genuinely, and it's especially sweet in the cynical tone of the story. Horribly sad for a moment as she believes that her daughter's committed suicide, but given she was faking her death, the heartbreak is averted. Doubles as a CallBack to ''Candy Store'', ("If you lack the balls/You can go play dolls/Have your mommy fix you a snack")
* In the original film, Veronica and J.D. are both jaded and delinquent from the start, but the musical actually makes their relationship very sweet and touching. You know. At first.
** Before then, the song may be an ode to the start of a doomed romance taking place before those involved know each other's names and sung as one half admires [[InLoveWithYourCarnage how cool they think the other looks beating the tar out of Kurt and Ram]], but Veronica's initial crush on J.D. and the sweet, fantasizing tone it takes in "Fight For Me" is palpably earnest and endearing.
** The bridge of "Dead Girl Walking":
-->''And you know, you know, you know,''\\
''it's 'cause you're beautiful.''\\
''You say you're numb inside,''\
''but I can't agree.''\\
''So the world's unfair;''\\
''keep it locked out there!''\\
''In here, it's beautiful.''\\
''Let's make this beautiful!''
** After they have sex, Veronica realizes she has to go confront/apologize to Heather Chandler, admitting she doesn't have the same "strength" J.D. has to not care about how other see her. This version of J.D. is genuinely thoughtful enough to volunteer to go with her as backup, and she's so touched she stops her frantic getting-dressed to give him a kiss. A smaller moment in the same scene is his tiny smile after she tells him 'You were my first'.
** J.D. comforting Veronica after Kurt and Ram humiliate her, and attempting to beat the crap out of them both for making her cry. It's one of those moments that remind you that, in his own twisted way, he ''does'' truly love Veronica. Of course, it crosses into heartbreaking when you see what happens next, and the fact that J.D. and Veronica genuinely love each other just makes it all the more tragic.
*** Specifically, the fact that Veronica feels the need to apologize for crying. She probably expects him to tear into her for an open display of emotion, just as her other "friends" would. The fact that she's finally met someone who ''wouldn't'' do that goes a long way towards explaining how she fell for him so hard.
* When Heather [=McNamara=] tries to commit suicide and Veronica averts it, ending with a hug.
-->'''Veronica:''' If you were happy everyday of your life you wouldn't be human. You'd be a game show host.
-->'''Heather:''' Thanks for coming after me.
-->'''Veronica:''' You're welcome.
* In several productions, Heather [=McNamara=] can be seen helping Heather Duke stand back up after Heather Chandler [[ButtMonkey pushes her down during]] ''Candy Store.''
* Crossed with a {{Tearjerker}}, but in some productions and fanimations, when J.D and Veronica shoot Kurt and Ram, why does Veronica miss Kurt? Because [[TakingTheBullet Ram pushes him out of the way.]]
* Heather Duke seems to make a HeelFaceTurn in the final musical number, hugging several other members of the cast.
* In an odd way, but even though he insults her when she shows up at his party, Ram doesn't kick Martha out despite having no reason not to. While he is mean, he does try and offer her some genuine, if harsh, advice.
** Similarly, whenever ghost!Kurt is making cracks at Martha, ghost!Ram ''immediately'' snaps at him to shut up.
* The Final Curtain Call for the original off-Broadway production as shown in this clip [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r1ipBndaess here.]]
** In the final "Beautiful" chorus of "Seventeen (Reprise)" we see Charissa Hogeland (who was Veronica) pull Elle [=McLemore=] (Heather [=McNamara=]) into a one-armed hug while Elle gives a two-armed embrace to Charissa.
** After director Andy Rickman gives his props to all the backstage crew for the final Curtain Call, he brings out Daniel Waters, who wrote the original "Heathers" movie script (without which there would be no "Heathers the Musical") and everyone gratefully gives Daniel a warm round of applause and humorous bowing down to.
* Of course, how Heartwarming is it when ''Emma Thompson'' (who was playing Mrs. Lovett in "Sweeney Todd" and was "their neighbor" so to speak) [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oh2Usa9IToA visits and brings meat pies?]] Quite neighborly of her to do so.
* While in London to promote ''Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again,'' Jessica Keenan Wynn (the off-Broadway Heather Chandler) got to see the West End Heather Chandler, Jodie Steele, perform in the West End production. Jodie admitted [[https://twitter.com/rdruther/status/1023337656472817665 in this Twitter post]] it was one of the best moments ever to meet Jessica. ([[https://www.instagram.com/p/BlynIlyH3dE/?taken-by=jodiesamsteele Another post]] had her admitting she "fangirled hard.") Jessica [[https://twitter.com/JessicaKWynn/status/1023341524908683264 thought the same]] of Jodie, and embraced her warmly with "Welcome to the family, Heather! Huge congratulations!"
** Jessica even took a [[https://twitter.com/JessicaKWynn/status/1023512782812131328 picture]] with the West End cast and said she liked the new lines and songs for their production, telling them all "Welcome to the family." Special posts with Jessica were with the [[https://twitter.com/HeathersMusical/status/1023344467053563910 West End Heathers]] and [[https://twitter.com/HeathersMusical/status/1023347143518629888 here]] with Josie, Kevin Murphy, and original director Andy Fickman.
* June 21, 2018 at "The Other Palace": For a "Gala Night" with the London cast of ''Heathers the Musical,'' original movie Heather [=McNamara=] Lisanne Falk met her London stage counterpart, Sophie Issacs. Lisanne [[https://www.instagram.com/p/BkQyTqlgKNL/?taken-by=probablylisanne was thrilled]] to have Sophie reprising her movie role. And Sophie [[https://www.instagram.com/p/BkSQYapnniK/?taken-by=sophie_isaacs_uk enjoyed meeting]] the actress who originated her current role as well.
