* There's something really sweet about how, in a dark stairway in the midst of a gauntlet of challenges far beneath the surface of Voya Nui, the Toa Ignika are able to share a laugh over one of Kongu's jokes.

** Vakama's talk with the player character, Takua, at the end of the game. The elder states that while the Toa have claimed victory this day, greater danger will soon encroach upon the people of Mata Nui. But until then, the triumphs of both the Toa and the Chronicler's band have given all cause to rejoice. Vakama commends Takua, a Matoran shunned for his wandering ways, for his bravery, stating that he stands head and shoulders with the Toa. The two then head home for Ta-Koro, as fireworks erupt against the night sky.

** More heartwarming (also an awesome moment) comes when he finds out the depths of the Plan and goes to warn his fellow Makuta. He had to know Gorast wouldn't care, and it's not like she or any of them actually cared about him aside from his utility as an ally. But he ''still'' went ahead and warned Gorast anyway. * In a moment of self-doubt, Matoro vents to Jaller that he feels like the weakest on the team. Jaller and Kongu were the leaders of their koro's defence forces; Nuparu is an amazing engineer; and Hewkii and Hahli were champion athletes. He, Matoro, was just a scholar, one constantly at a bit of a remove from his fellow Matoran due to knowing secrets no one else could. Jaller tells him that being a Toa isn't about powers or skills or physical toughness, it's about spirit.

** The novelization goes into further depth on Vakama's thought process during this moment. He first thinks of the power Roodaka offered to him and her temptation of his ambition, only to then remember Lhikan's dying words - and ''that'' is what snaps him out of his FaceHeelTurn and prompts him to save Matau.

** That scene at the end is heartwarming and for another reason. It chronologically takes place after the events of ''Web of Shadows'' where the Toa lost their powers and began to doubt themselves. They spend the rest of the movie trying to recover their powers, aside from Vakama who takes his failures and the loss of his powers especially hard. They manage to save the Matoran and bring them to the island of Mata Nui, vowing to forever protect them. But they realize that they must now give up their powers which they worked so hard to recover. And Vakama, the one who was most distraught over the loss of his powers immediately gives them up to reawaken the Matoran and the rest of the Toa follow with no hesitation, showing their commitment to the Matoran.
