** And it should be noted that "formula" and "mechanics" are different. He hates developers using the same formula (recurring plot devices, forms of puzzles, cliched characterizations) over and over, but he also ''hates'' when developers screw around with the mechanics and controls that have been proven over and over again to work. Using the second analog stick to control the camera, for instance, is something that he wants all current games to use. He hates leap-of-faith jumps, dontcha know.

*** Games =/= critique. Unless you delve into the needless metaplot shit a lot of internet reviewers lean on, there's only so many ways you can criticise things. Games have a lot more freedom in that respect.

** Arr, ye dirt-caked potato enthusiast! Ye be sayin' that the controls in the game require ye ta move our Mighty Flooring Inspector by dragiin 'im about wit the mouse, and that it makes controllin' a 3D character too difficult! Now, while I agree that whichever lubber came up with the mouse controls for movement ought to be hung from their toes over the side of the hull, there be a perfectly suitible ''keyboard'' setup for controllin' movement that works far better than the blasted cursor, ye non-salty cur!

*After recently re-watching his ''TalesOfMonkeyIsland'' review, I noticed two things that don't make sense. One somes from yahtzee, which I will voice normally, and the other is a mistake from Irish-Yahtzee, which I will voice in a stupid [[TalkLikeAPirate pirate accent]].
** He said that [[MonkeyIsland2 the second Monkey Island game]] deliberately set up its ending so as to eliminate any chance of sequels. That's not actually true. Now, I can understand him not having gone around the internet to find the truth of Gilbert's plans for the series, but that idea was proven to be not true by TheStinger in that very same game. Not to go into too much detail, suffice it to say that it's proven ''not'' to be AllJustADream, forming a clear SequelHook. Actually, that misconception comes up a lot, which ''really'' bugs me.

* In his review of E3 2010, he goes on how Donkey Kong Country Returns is "another bloody" Donkey Kong game. I'm sorry, but that's the first oldschool-style DK game since Donkey Kong 64. Earlier than that he even used a picture of Pit from Kid Icarus in a statement on Nintendo reusing franchises. Kid Icarus hasn't had a game in NINETEEN YEARS! What Yahtzee, use an idea ONCE OR TWICE and any further time is pimping the series, no matter when it is? In that case, let's be sure to boycott Sony and Microsoft if they even think about a Half Life 3. Oh wait he likes that game, so it's only okay then. It's just wrong. [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking Also he seems to think the new Paper Mario on the 3DS will be a remake of the first one, but it's not.]]
