** I’d chalk this up to WritersCannotDoMath. While this troper is taking Algebra 2 as a freshman and can confirm that there are certainly no seniors in that class, there are some juniors, and many schools only require three years of math. Since i is a concept that sounds much more complex (pun intended) than it actually is, I’d guess that it was simply the most advanced-seeming topic that the writers ever learned.

** It likely did, but this is a bunch of teenagers who are ignorant about alcohol. Most of them probably wouldn't even notice if it had a detergent taste because they don't know any better.

* Wouldn't Seth putting the alcohol into detergent bottles really really mess up the taste of alcohol by mixing it with the chemicals found in liquid detergent?

* Evan and Seth are broke enough that they can't pay back Jules after losing the $100 she gives them to buy alcohol. But the next day, they're both at the mall shopping for things that would cost about that much money. Couldn't they have gotten some of that money early?

** they could be in Algebra 2 as seniors. I'm taking it as a junior but we have people of all 4 grade levels taking it just in my class period.
** Some schools also exempt seniors from finals if they do well enough

* What were they doing in their classes? If there were only two weeks left, they would likely be prepping for finals. Also, in the math class with Evan and Becca, the teacher is teaching about the square root of -1, a.k.a. i. Not only are they learning about a concept typically taught in Algebra II, a class for Juniors and bright Sophomores, they are being taught well past the typical time of year.
