** The attacks deplete their essence. The game only mentions it in passing, but as they lose essence, ghosts become specters, and specters become wisps, each more fragile than the last. The attacks speed up the process.
* Why doesn't Red destroy corpses when he sees them? They're just going to become bonewalkers and the settlers certainly seem to just not care what happens otherwise.
